Names of God Bible (NOG)
Version
Psalm 145:8-9

Yahweh is merciful, compassionate, patient,
    and always ready to forgive.
Yahweh is good to everyone
and has compassion for everything that he has made.

Psalm 145:14-21

14 Yahweh supports everyone who falls.
He straightens the backs of those who are bent over.
15 The eyes of all creatures look to you,
and you give them their food at the proper time.
16 You open your hand,
and you satisfy the desire of every living thing.
17 Yahweh is fair in all his ways
and faithful in everything he does.
18 Yahweh is near to everyone who prays to him,
to every faithful person who prays to him.
19 He fills the needs of those who fear him.
He hears their cries for help and saves them.
20 Yahweh protects everyone who loves him,
but he will destroy all wicked people.

21 My mouth will speak the praise of Yahweh,
and all living creatures will praise his holy name
        forever and ever.

Isaiah 51:17-23

Wake Up, Jerusalem

17 Wake up! Wake up!
    Stand up, Jerusalem!
You drank from the cup in Yahweh’s hand.
That cup was filled with his anger.
You drank from the bowl, the cup that makes people stagger,
        and you drained it!
18 From all the children she gave birth to,
there was no one to guide her.
From all the children she raised,
there was no one to take her by the hand.
19 Twice as many disasters have happened to you.
Who will feel sorry for you?
Violence, destruction, famine, and war have happened to you.
    Who will comfort you?
20 Your children have fainted.
They lie sleeping at every street corner.
They are like an antelope caught in a net.
They experience the anger of Yahweh,
        the fury of your Elohim.

21 Listen to this, you humble people
who are drunk but not from wine.
22 Yahweh your Elohim defends his people.

This is what your Adonay says:

I’m taking from your hand the cup that makes people stagger,
the bowl, the cup of my fury.
You will never drink from it again.
23 I will put it in the hands of those who made you suffer.
They said to you, “Lie down so that we can walk over you.”
So you made your back like the ground
and like a street for them to cross.

Romans 9:6-13

Now it is not as though God’s word has failed. Clearly, not everyone descended from Israel is part of Israel or a descendant of Abraham. However, as Scripture says, “Through Isaac your descendants will carry on your name.” This means that children born by natural descent from Abraham are not necessarily God’s children. Instead, children born by the promise are considered Abraham’s descendants.

For example, this is what the promise said, “I will come back at the right time, and Sarah will have a son.” 10 The same thing happened to Rebekah. Rebekah became pregnant by our ancestor Isaac. 11 Before the children had been born or had done anything good or bad, Rebekah was told that the older child would serve the younger one. This was said to Rebekah so that God’s plan would remain a matter of his choice, 12 a choice based on God’s call and not on anything people do.[a] 13 The Scriptures say, “I loved Jacob, but I hated Esau.”
