Psalm 119:129-136

PE

129 Thy testimonies are [a]wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them.

130 The entrance into thy [b]words showeth light, and giveth understanding to the simple.

131 I opened my mouth, and [c]panted, because I loved thy commandments.

132 Look upon me and be merciful unto me, as thou usest to do unto those that love thy Name.

133 Direct my steps in thy word, and let none iniquity have dominion over me.

134 Deliver me from the oppression of men, and I will keep thy precepts.

135 Show the light of thy countenance upon thy servant, and teach me thy statute.

136 Mine eyes gush [d]out with rivers of water, because they keep not thy Law.

1 Kings 1:28-37

28 ¶ Then king David answered, and said, Call me Bathsheba. And she came into the king’s presence, and stood before the King.

29 And the King sware, saying, As the Lord liveth, who hath redeemed my soul out of all adversity,

30 That as I [a]sware unto thee by the Lord God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my place, so will I certainly do this day.

31 Then Bathsheba bowed her face to the earth, and did reverence unto the king, and said, God save my lord king David forever.

32 ¶ And king David said, Call me Zadok the Priest, and Nathan the Prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. And they came before the King.

33 Then the king said unto them, Take with you the [b]servants of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon mine own mule, and carry him down to Gihon.

34 And let Zadok the Priest and Nathan the Prophet anoint him there king over Israel, and blow ye the trumpet, and say, God save King Solomon.

35 Then come up after him, that he may come and sit upon my throne: and he shall be King in my stead: for I have [c]appointed him to be prince over Israel, and over Judah.

36 Then Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king, and said, So be it, and the Lord God of my lord the king [d]ratify it.

37 As the Lord hath been with my lord the king, so be he with Solomon, and exalt his throne above the throne of my lord king David.

1 Corinthians 4:14-20

14 [a]I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I admonish you.

15 For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the Gospel.

16 Wherefore, I pray you, be followers of me.

17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timothy, which is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, which shall put you in remembrance of my [b]ways in Christ as I teach everywhere in every Church.

18 [c]Some are puffed up as though I would not come unto you.

19 But I will come to you shortly, (A)if the Lord will, and I will know, not the [d]words of them which are puffed up, but the power.

20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
