Christian Standard Bible (CSB)
Version
Psalm 86:11-17

11 Teach me your way, Lord,
and I will live by your truth.
Give me an undivided mind to fear your name.(A)
12 I will praise you with all my heart, Lord my God,
and will honor your name forever.(B)
13 For your faithful love for me is great,
and you rescue my life from the depths of Sheol.(C)

14 God, arrogant people have attacked me;
a gang of ruthless men intends to kill me.
They do not let you guide them.[a](D)
15 But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God,
slow to anger and abounding in faithful love and truth.(E)
16 Turn to me and be gracious to me.
Give your strength to your servant;
save the son of your female servant.(F)
17 Show me a sign of your goodness;
my enemies will see and be put to shame
because you, Lord, have helped and comforted me.(G)

Isaiah 44:18-20

18 Such people[a] do not comprehend
and cannot understand,
for he has shut their eyes[b] so they cannot see,
and their minds so they cannot understand.
19 No one comes to his senses;[c]
no one has the perception or insight to say,
“I burned half of it in the fire,
I also baked bread on its coals,
I roasted meat and ate.
Should I make something detestable(A) with the rest of it?
Should I bow down to a block of wood?”
20 He feeds on[d] ashes.
His deceived mind has led him astray,
and he cannot rescue himself,
or say, “Isn’t there a lie in my right hand?” (B)

Matthew 7:15-20

15 “Be on your guard against false prophets(A) who come to you in sheep’s(B) clothing(C) but inwardly are ravaging wolves.(D) 16 You’ll recognize them by their fruit.(E) Are grapes gathered from thornbushes or figs from thistles?(F) 17 In the same way, every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit. 18 A good tree can’t produce bad fruit; neither can a bad tree produce good fruit. 19 Every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.(G) 20 So you’ll recognize them by their fruit.(H)
