Psalm 100

A Song of Praise

100 Call out with joy to the Lord, all the earth. Be glad as you serve the Lord. Come before Him with songs of joy. Know that the Lord is God. It is He Who made us, and not we ourselves. We are His people and the sheep of His field.

Go into His gates giving thanks and into His holy place with praise. Give thanks to Him. Honor His name. For the Lord is good. His loving-kindness lasts forever. And He is faithful to all people and to all their children-to-come.

Exodus 4:18-23

Moses Returns to Egypt

18 Then Moses left and returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and said to him, “I ask of you, let me return to my brothers in Egypt to see if they are still alive.” And Jethro said to Moses, “Go in peace.” 19 The Lord said to Moses in Midian, “Return to Egypt. For all the men who wanted to kill you are dead.” 20 So Moses took his wife and sons and put them on a donkey, and he returned to the land of Egypt. Moses also took the special stick of God in his hand.

21 The Lord said to Moses, “When you return to Egypt, make sure you show Pharaoh all the works that I have placed in your power. But I will make his heart hard so that he will not let the people go. 22 Then say to Pharaoh, ‘The Lord says this: “Israel is My son, My first-born. 23 And I say to you, ‘Let My son go. Let him work for Me.’ But if you will not let him go, I will kill your son, your first-born.”’”

Hebrews 3:1-6

Jesus Was Greater Than Moses

Christian brothers, you have been chosen and set apart by God. So let us think about Jesus. He is the One God sent and He is the Religious Leader of our Christian faith. Jesus was faithful in God’s house just as Moses was faithful in all of God’s house. The man who builds a house gets more honor than the house. That is why Jesus gets more honor than Moses. Every house is built by someone. And God is the One Who has built everything. Moses was a faithful servant owned by God in God’s house. He spoke of the things that would be told about later on. But Christ was faithful as a Son Who is Head of God’s house. We are of God’s house if we keep our trust in the Lord until the end. This is our hope.
