Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
24 The Earth is the LORD’s and all that therein is, the world and those who dwell therein.
2 For He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the floods.
3 Who shall ascend into the Mountain of the LORD? And who shall stand in His Holy Place?
4 He who has innocent hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his mind to vanity nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive a blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 This is the generation of those who seek Him, of those who seek Your face. This is Jacob. Selah.
7 Lift up your heads, you gates. And be lifted up, you everlasting doors. And the King of Glory shall come in.
8 Who is this King of Glory: The LORD, strong and mighty. The LORD, mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, you gates. And lift up yourselves, you everlasting doors. And the King of Glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of Glory: The LORD of Hosts. He is the King of Glory. Selah. A Psalm of David.
18 “As I live,” says the King Whose Name is the LORD of Hosts, “surely as Tabor in the mountains, and as Carmel in the sea, it shall come.
19 “O you daughter dwelling in Egypt, make yourself gear to go into captivity! For Noph shall be waste and desolate, without an inhabitant.
20 “Egypt is like a fair calf, but destruction comes. Out of the North it comes.
21 “Also, her hired men, in the midst of her like fat calves, they are also turned back and have fled away together. They could not stand, because the day of their destruction had come upon them, the time of their reckoning.
22 “Its voice shall go forth like a serpent. For they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as woodcutters.
23 “They shall cut down her forest,” says the LORD, “for they cannot be counted, because they are more than the grasshoppers, and are innumerable.
24 “The daughter of Egypt shall be confounded. She shall be delivered into the hands of the people of the North.”
25 Thus says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel: “Behold, I will visit your common people of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods and their kings, even Pharaoh, and all those who trust in him.
26 “And I will deliver them into the hands of those who seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babel, and into the hands of his servants. And afterward, she shall dwell as in the old time,” says the LORD.
27 “But do not fear, O my servant Jacob. And do not be afraid, O Israel. For behold, I will deliver you from afar, and your seed from the land of their captivity. And Jacob shall return and be in rest and prosperity. And no one shall make him afraid.
28 “Do not fear, O Jacob, My servant,” says the LORD, “for I am with you. And I will utterly destroy all the nations to which I have driven you. Yet I will not utterly destroy you, but correct you by judgment, and not utterly cut you off.”
5 And He who sat upon the throne, said, “Behold, I make all things new!” And He said to me, “Write. For these things are faithful and true.”
6 And He said to me, “It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give freely from the well of the water of life to him who is thirsty.
7 “He who overcomes, shall inherit all things. And I will be his God. And he shall be My Son.
8 “But the fearful and unbelieving, and the abominable and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall take their place in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
9 And there came to me one of the seven angels, who had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, “Come. I will show you the Bride, the Lamb’s wife.”
10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain. And he showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of Heaven from God,
11 having the Glory of God. And she shined like a most precious stone—as a jasper stone, clear as crystal—
12 and had a great high wall with twelve gates. And at the gates were twelve angels. And the names written on them were the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.
13 On the east part, there were three gates; and on the north side, three gates; on the south side three gates; and on the west side, three gates.
14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations; and in them, the names of the Lamb’s twelve Apostles.
15 And he who walked with me had a golden reed, with which to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
16 And the city lays square. And the length is as large as the breadth of it. And he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. And the length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
17 And he measured the wall thereof: 144 cubits, by the measure of man (that is, of the angel).
18 And the structure of the wall was of jasper. And the city was pure gold, like clear glass.
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation was of jasper; the second, Sapphire; the third, of Chalcedony; the fourth of an Emerald;
20 the fifth, of a Sardonyx; the sixth, of a Sardius; the seventh, of a Chrysolite; the eighth, of a Beryl; the ninth, of a Topaz; the tenth, of a Chrysoprase; the eleventh, of a Jacinth; the twelfth, an Amethyst.
21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls. And every gate is made of one pearl. And the street of the city is pure gold, as shining glass.
22 And I saw no Temple therein. For the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the Temple of it.
23 And their city has no need of the Sun, nor of the Moon, to shine in it. For the Glory of God lit it. And the Lamb is the Light of it.
24 And the people who are saved shall walk in the light of it. And the kings of the Earth shall bring their glory and honor to it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut by day. For there shall be no night there.
26 And the glory and honor of the Gentiles shall be brought into it.
27 And there shall enter into it no unclean thing, nor whatever works abomination or lies; but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
