Psalm 24

The King of Glory

Of David. A Psalm.

24 The (A)earth is Yahweh’s, as well as its fullness,
The (B)world, and those who dwell in it.
For He has (C)founded it upon the seas
And established it upon the rivers.
Who may (D)ascend into the (E)mountain of Yahweh?
And who may rise in His holy (F)place?
He who has (G)innocent hands and a (H)pure heart,
Who has not (I)lifted up his soul [a]to worthlessness
And has not (J)sworn deceitfully.
He shall lift up a (K)blessing from Yahweh
And [b](L)righteousness from the God of his salvation.
[c]This is the generation of those who (M)seek Him,
Who seek Your face—pay heed O Jacob. [d]Selah.

(N)Lift up your heads, O gates,
And be lifted up, O [e]ancient doors,
That the King of (O)glory may come in!
Who is this King of glory?
Yahweh (P)strong and mighty,
Yahweh (Q)mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O gates,
And lift yourselves up, O [f]ancient doors,
That the King of (R)glory may come in!
10 Who is He, this King of glory?
Yahweh of (S)hosts,
He is the King of glory. Selah.

Jeremiah 46:18-28

18 As I live,” declares the (A)King
Whose name is Yahweh of hosts,
“Surely one shall come who looms up like (B)Tabor among the mountains,
Or like (C)Carmel by the sea.
19 Make your baggage ready for (D)exile,
O inhabitant of the (E)daughter of Egypt,
For (F)Memphis will become a desolation;
It will even be turned into ruin and without inhabitants.
20 Egypt is a pretty (G)heifer,
But a [a]horsefly is coming (H)from the north—it is coming!
21 Also her (I)mercenaries in her midst
Are like [b]fattened (J)calves,
For even they have turned back and have fled away together;
They did not stand their ground.
For the day of their disaster has come upon them,
The time of their (K)punishment.
22 Its sound moves along like a serpent;
For they move on [c]like a military force
And come to her as woodcutters with axes.
23 They have cut down her (L)forest,” declares Yahweh;
“Surely it will no longer be searched out,
Even though [d]they are now more numerous than (M)locusts
And are without number.
24 The daughter of Egypt has been put to shame,
Given over to the hand of the (N)people of the north.”

25 Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, says, “Behold, I am going to punish Amon of (O)Thebes, and (P)Pharaoh, and Egypt along with her (Q)gods and her kings, even Pharaoh and those who (R)trust in him. 26 I shall give them into the hand of those who are (S)seeking their lives, even into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and into the hand of his servants. (T)Afterwards, however, it will be dwelt in like in the days of old,” declares Yahweh.

27 “But as for you, O Jacob My servant, (U)do not fear,
Nor be dismayed, O Israel!
For behold, I am going to (V)save you from afar,
And your seed from the land of their captivity;
And Jacob will return and have (W)quiet
And be at ease, with no one making him tremble.
28 O Jacob My servant, do not fear,” declares Yahweh,
“For (X)I am with you.
For I will make a complete destruction of all the nations
Where I have banished you,
Yet I will (Y)not make a complete destruction of you;
But I will (Z)discipline you with justice
And by no means leave you unpunished.”

Revelation 21:5-27

And (A)He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am (B)making all things new.” And He *said, “Write, for (C)these words are faithful and true.” Then He said to me, “(D)They are done. I am the (E)Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. (F)I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the (G)water of life without cost. (H)He who overcomes will inherit these things, and (I)I will be his God and he will be My son. (J)But for the cowardly and [a]unbelieving and abominable and murderers and sexually immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in (K)the lake that burns with fire and [b]brimstone, which is the (L)second death.”

(M)Then one of the seven angels who have the (N)seven bowls [c]full of the (O)seven last plagues came and spoke with me, saying, “(P)Come here, I will show you the (Q)bride, the wife of the Lamb.”

New Jerusalem, the Holy City

10 And (R)he carried me away [d](S)in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me (T)the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, 11 having (U)the glory of God. Her [e]brilliance was like precious stone, as a (V)stone of (W)crystal-clear jasper. 12 [f]It had a great and high wall. [g]It had (X)twelve (Y)gates and at those gates, twelve angels; and names [h]have been written on those gates, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. 13 There were three gates on the east and three gates on the north and three gates on the south and three gates on the west. 14 And the wall of the city had (Z)twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the (AA)twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15 And the one who spoke with me had a [i]gold measuring (AB)rod to measure the city and its (AC)gates and its wall. 16 And the city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width; and he measured the city with the [j]rod, [k]12,000 stadia; its length and width and height are equal. 17 And he measured its wall, [l]144 cubits, according to (AD)human [m]measurements, which are also (AE)angelic measurements. 18 And the material of the wall was (AF)jasper, and the city was (AG)pure gold, like pure (AH)glass. 19 (AI)The foundation stones of the city wall were adorned with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation stone was (AJ)jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, (AK)emerald; 20 the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, (AL)sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. 21 And the twelve (AM)gates were twelve (AN)pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was (AO)pure gold, like transparent (AP)glass.

22 And I saw (AQ)no sanctuary in it, for the (AR)Lord God the Almighty and the (AS)Lamb are its sanctuary. 23 And the city (AT)has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for (AU)the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the (AV)Lamb. 24 (AW)And the nations will walk by its light, and the (AX)kings of the earth [n]will bring their glory into it. 25 (AY)And its gates (AZ)will never be closed by day, for (BA)there will be no night there; 26 and (BB)they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. 27 And (BC)nothing defiled, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those [o]whose names are (BD)written in the Lamb’s book of life.
