Jeremiah 14:7-10

“Although our (A)iniquities testify against us,
O Lord, act (B)for Your name’s sake!
Truly our (C)apostasies have been many,
We have (D)sinned against You.
“O (E)Hope of Israel,
Its (F)Savior in (G)time of distress,
Why are You like a stranger in the land
Or like a traveler who has pitched his tent for the night?
“Why are You like a man dismayed,
Like a mighty man who (H)cannot save?
Yet (I)You are in our midst, O Lord,
And we are (J)called by Your name;
Do not forsake us!”

10 Thus says the Lord to this people, “Even so they have (K)loved to wander; they have not (L)kept their feet in check. Therefore the Lord does (M)not accept them; now He will (N)remember their iniquity and call their sins to account.”

Jeremiah 14:19-22

19 Have You completely (A)rejected Judah?
Or have [a]You loathed Zion?
Why have You stricken us so that we (B)are beyond healing?
We (C)waited for peace, but nothing good came;
And for a time of healing, but behold, terror!
20 We (D)know our wickedness, O Lord,
The iniquity of our fathers, for (E)we have sinned against You.
21 Do not despise us, (F)for Your own name’s sake;
Do not disgrace the (G)throne of Your glory;
Remember and do not annul Your covenant with us.
22 Are there any among the [b](H)idols of the nations who (I)give rain?
Or can the heavens grant showers?
Is it not You, O Lord our God?
Therefore we [c](J)hope in You,
For You are the one who has done all these things.

Psalm 84:1-7

Longing for the Temple Worship.

For the choir director; [a]on the Gittith. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.

84 How lovely are Your (A)dwelling places,
O Lord of hosts!
My (B)soul longed and even yearned for the courts of the Lord;
My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the (C)living God.
The bird also has found a house,
And the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young,
Even Your (D)altars, O Lord of hosts,
(E)My King and my God.
How (F)blessed are those who dwell in Your house!
They are (G)ever praising You. [b]Selah.

How blessed is the man whose (H)strength is in You,
In [c]whose heart are the (I)highways to Zion!
Passing through the valley of [d]Baca they make it a [e]spring;
The (J)early rain also covers it with blessings.
They (K)go from strength to strength,
[f]Every one of them (L)appears before God in Zion.

2 Timothy 4:6-8

For I am already being (A)poured out as a drink offering, and the time of (B)my departure has come. (C)I have fought the good fight, I have finished (D)the course, I have kept (E)the faith; in the future there (F)is laid up for me (G)the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on (H)that day; and not only to me, but also to (I)all who have loved His (J)appearing.

2 Timothy 4:16-18

16 At my first defense no one supported me, but all deserted me; (A)may it not be counted against them. 17 But the Lord stood with me and (B)strengthened me, so that through me (C)the proclamation might [a]be (D)fully accomplished, and that all (E)the Gentiles might hear; and I was (F)rescued out of (G)the lion’s mouth. 18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed, and will [b](H)bring me safely to His (I)heavenly kingdom; (J)to [c]Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Luke 18:9-14

The Pharisee and the Publican

And He also told this parable to some people who (A)trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and (B)viewed others with contempt: 10 “Two men (C)went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee (D)stood and was praying this to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. 12 I (E)fast twice a week; I (F)pay tithes of all that I get.’ 13 But the tax collector, (G)standing some distance away, (H)was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but (I)was beating his breast, saying, ‘God, be [a]merciful to me, the sinner!’ 14 I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; (J)for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
