Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
23 Yet He commanded the skies above
And (A)opened the doors of heaven;
24 He (B)rained down manna upon them to eat
And gave them (C)grain from heaven.
25 Man ate the bread of [a]angels;
He sent them provision (D)to satisfy.
26 He (E)led forth the east wind in the heavens
And by His strength He guided the south wind.
27 Then He rained [b]meat upon them like the dust,
Even (F)winged fowl like the sand of the seas,
28 He caused them to fall in the midst of His camp,
All around His dwelling places.
29 So they (G)ate and were very satisfied,
And their desire He brought to them.
The Statute of the Passover
43 And Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron, “This is the statute of (A)the Passover: no [a](B)foreigner shall eat of it; 44 but every man’s (C)slave purchased with money, after you have circumcised him, then he may eat of it. 45 (D)A foreign resident or a hired person shall not eat of it. 46 It shall be eaten in a single house; you shall not bring forth any of the flesh outside of the house, (E)and you shall not break any bone of it. 47 (F)All the congregation of Israel shall [b]celebrate this. 48 But (G)if a sojourner sojourns with you and [c]celebrates the Passover to Yahweh, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near to [d]celebrate it; and he shall be like a native of the land. But no uncircumcised person may eat of it. 49 [e](H)The same law shall [f]apply to the native as to the sojourner who sojourns among you.”
50 So all the sons of Israel did; as Yahweh had commanded Moses and Aaron, thus they did. 51 And on that same day (I)Yahweh brought the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt [g](J)by their hosts.
Sanctifying the Firstborn
13 Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “(K)Sanctify to Me every firstborn, the first [h]offspring of every womb among the sons of Israel, both of man and beast; it belongs to Me.”
27 Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be (A)guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. 28 But a man must (B)test himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly. 30 For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number [a](C)sleep. 31 But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged. 32 But when we are judged, we are (D)disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with (E)the world.
33 So then, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another. 34 If anyone is (F)hungry, let him eat (G)at home, so that you will not come together for judgment. The remaining matters I will (H)direct (I)when I come.
