Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
90 1 Moses in his prayer setteth before us the eternal favor of God toward his, 3 who are neither admonished by the brevity of their life, 7 nor by his plagues to be thankful, 12 therefore Moses prayeth God to turn their hearts, and continue his mercies toward them and their posterity forever.
A prayer of Moses, [a]the man of God.
1 Lord, thou hast been our [b]habitation from generation to generation.
2 Before the [c]mountains were made, and before thou hadst formed the earth, and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting thou art our God.
3 Thou [d]turnest man to destruction: again thou sayest, Return ye sons of Adam.
4 [e]For a thousand years in thy sight are as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
5 Thou hast [f]overflowed them, they are as a sleep, in the morning he groweth like the grass:
6 In the morning it flourisheth and groweth, but in the evening it is cut down and withereth.
7 For we are [g]consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.
8 Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, and our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.
9 For all our days are past in thine anger: we have [a]spent our years as a thought.
10 The time of our life is threescore years and ten, and if they be of strength, [b]fourscore years: yet their strength is but labor and sorrow: for it is cut off quickly, and we flee away.
11 [c]Who knoweth the power of thy wrath? for according to thy fear is thine anger.
12 Teach us so to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto [a]wisdom.
7 The end of all the land of Israel shall suddenly come.
1 Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
2 Also thou son of man, thus saith the Lord God, An end is come unto the land of Israel: the end is come upon the four corners of the land.
3 Now is the end come upon thee, and I will send my wrath upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways, and will lay upon thee all [a]thine abominations.
4 Neither shall mine eye spare thee, neither will I have pity: but I will lay thy ways upon thee: and thine abomination shall be in the midst of thee, and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
5 Thus saith the Lord God, [b]Behold, one evil, even one evil is come.
6 An end is come, the end is come, it [c]watched for thee: behold, it is come.
7 The [d]morning is come unto thee, that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of trouble is near, and not the [e]sounding again of the mountains.
8 Now I will shortly pour out my wrath upon thee, and fulfill mine anger upon thee: I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will lay upon thee all thine abominations.
9 Neither shall mine eye spare thee, neither will I have pity, but I will lay upon thee according to thy ways, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee, and ye shall know that I am the Lord that smiteth.
8 [a]And the fourth Angel poured out his vial on the sun, and it was given to him to torment men with heat of fire,
9 And men boiled in great heat, and blasphemed the Name of God, which hath power over these plagues, and they repented not to give him glory.
10 [b]And the fifth Angel poured out his vial upon the throne of the beast, and the kingdom waxed dark, and they gnawed their tongues for sorrow.
11 And blasphemed the God of heaven for their pains, and for their sores, and repented not of their works.
12 [c]And the sixth Angel poured out his vial upon the great river [d]Euphrates, and the [e]water thereof dried up, [f]that the way of the Kings of the East should be prepared.
13 And I saw [g]three unclean spirits [h]like frogs come out of the mouth of that [i]dragon, and out of the mouth of that [j]beast, and out of the mouth of that [k]false prophet.
14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, to go unto the kings of the earth, and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
15 [l]((A)Behold I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and men see his filthiness.)
16 [m]And they gathered them together into a place called in Hebrew, [n]Armageddon.
17 [o]And the seventh Angel poured out his vial into the [p]air: and there came a loud voice out of the Temple of heaven from [q]the throne, saying, [r]It is done.
18 [s]And there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, even so mighty an earthquake.
19 [t]And the great city was divided into three parts: and the cities of the nations [u]fell: and that great [v]Babylon came in remembrance before God, (B)to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
20 And every isle fled away, and the mountains [w]were not [x]found.
21 [y]And there fell a great hail, like [z]talents out of heaven upon the men, and men blasphemed God, because of the plague of the hail: for the plague thereof was exceeding great.
