96 For the same David, when his land was restored again to him. The Lord hath reigned, let the earth rejoice: let many islands be glad.

² Clouds and darkness are round about him: justice and judgment are the establishment of his throne.

³ A fire shall go before him, and shall burn his enemies round about.

⁴ His lightnings have shone forth to the world: the earth saw and trembled.

⁵ The mountains melted like wax, at the presence of the Lord: at the presence of the Lord of all the earth.

⁶ The heavens declared his justice: and all people saw his glory.

⁷ Let them be all confounded that adore graven things, and that glory in their idols. Adore him, all you his angels:

⁸ Sion heard, and was glad. And the daughters of Juda rejoiced, because of thy judgments, O Lord.

⁹ For thou art the most high Lord over all the earth: thou art exalted exceedingly above all gods.

¹⁰ You that love the Lord, hate evil: the Lord preserveth the souls of his saints, he will deliver them out of the hand of the sinner.

¹¹ Light is risen to the just, and joy to the right of heart.

¹² Rejoice, ye just, in the Lord: and give praise to the remembrance of his holiness.

17 There was at that time a man of mount Ephraim whose name was Michas,

² Who said to his mother: The eleven hundred pieces of silver, which thou hadst put aside for thyself, and concerning which thou didst swear in my hearing, behold I have, and they are with me. And she said to him: Blessed be my son by the Lord.

³ So he restored them to his mother, who said to him: I have consecrated and vowed this silver to the Lord, that my son may receive it at my hand, and make a graven and a molten god, so now I deliver it to thee.

⁴ And he restored them to his mother: and she took two hundred pieces of silver and gave them to the silversmith, to make of them a graven and a molten god, which was in the house of Michas.

⁵ And he separated also therein a little temple for the god, and made an ephod, and theraphim, that is to say, a priestly garment, and idols: and he filled the hand of one of his sons, and he became his priest.

⁶ In those days there was no king in Israel, but every one did that which seemed right to himself.

⁹ I had written perhaps to the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the pre-eminence among them, doth not receive us.

¹⁰ For this cause, if I come, I will advertise his works which he doth, with malicious words prating against us. And as if these things were not enough for him, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and them that do receive them he forbiddeth, and casteth out of the church.

¹¹ Dearly beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doth good, is of God: he that doth evil, hath not seen God.

¹² To Demetrius testimony is given by all, and by the truth itself, yea and we also give testimony: and thou knowest that our testimony is true.
