⁴ Unless thou hold thyself diligently in the fear of the Lord, thy house shall quickly be overthrown.

⁵ As when one sifteth with a sieve, the dust will remain: so will the perplexity of a man in his thoughts.

⁶ The furnace trieth the potter's vessels, and the trial of affliction just men.

⁷ Be the dressing of a tree sheweth the fruit thereof, so a word out of the thought of the heart of man.

¹⁰ And as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and return no more thither, but soak the earth, and water it, and make it to spring, and give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

¹¹ So shall my word be, which shall go forth from my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall do whatsoever I please, and shall prosper in the things for which I sent it.

¹² For you shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall sing praise before you, and all the trees of the country shall clap their hands.

¹³ Instead of the shrub, shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the nettle, shall come up the myrtle tree: and the Lord shall be named for an everlasting sign, that shall not be taken away.

92 The Lord hath reigned, he is clothed with beauty: the Lord is clothed with strength, and hath girded himself. For he hath established the world which shall not be moved.

² Thy throne is prepared from of old: thou art from everlasting.

³ The floods have lifted up, O Lord: the floods have lifted up their voice. The floods have lifted up their waves,

⁴ With the noise of many waters. Wonderful are the surges of the sea: wonderful is the Lord on high.

⁵¹ Behold, I tell you a mystery. We shall all indeed rise again: but we shall not all be changed.

⁵² In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall rise again incorruptible: and we shall be changed.

⁵³ For this corruptible must put on incorruption; and this mortal must put on immortality.

⁵⁴ And when this mortal hath put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: Death is swallowed up in victory.

⁵⁵ O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?

⁵⁶ Now the sting of death is sin: and the power of sin is the law.

⁵⁷ But thanks be to God, who hath given us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁵⁸ Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast and unmoveable; always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

³⁹ And he spoke also to them a similitude: Can the blind lead the blind? do they not both fall into the ditch?

⁴⁰ The disciple is not above his master: but every one shall be perfect, if he be as his master.

⁴¹ And why seest thou the mote in thy brother's eye: but the beam that is in thy own eye thou considerest not?

⁴² Or how canst thou say to thy brother: Brother, let me pull the mote out of thy eye, when thou thyself seest not the beam in thy own eye? Hypocrite, cast first the beam out of thy own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to take out the mote from thy brother's eye.

⁴³ For there is no good tree that bringeth forth evil fruit; nor an evil tree that bringeth forth good fruit.

⁴⁴ For every tree is known by its fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns; nor from a bramble bush do they gather the grape.

⁴⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth that which is evil. For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

⁴⁶ And why call you me, Lord, Lord; and do not the things which I say?

⁴⁷ Every one that cometh to me, and heareth my words, and doth them, I will shew you to whom he is like.

⁴⁸ He is like to a man building a house, who digged deep, and laid the foundation upon a rock. And when a flood came, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and it could not shake it; for it was founded on a rock.

⁴⁹ But he that heareth, and doth not, is like to a man building his house upon the earth without a foundation: against which the stream beat vehemently, and immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.
