Psalm 92:1-4

How Great Are Your Works, O Yahweh

A Psalm. A Song for the Sabbath day.

92 It is (A)good to give thanks to Yahweh
And to (B)sing praises to Your name, O Most High;
To (C)declare Your lovingkindness in the morning
And Your (D)faithfulness [a]by night,
[b]With the (E)ten-stringed lute and with the (F)harp,
[c]With resounding music [d]upon the (G)lyre.
For You, O Yahweh, have made me glad by [e]what You (H)have done,
I will (I)sing for joy at the (J)works of Your hands.

Psalm 92:12-15

12 The (A)righteous man will [a]flourish like the palm tree,
He will grow like a (B)cedar in Lebanon.
13 (C)Planted in the house of Yahweh,
They will flourish (D)in the courts of our God.
14 They will still [b](E)yield fruit in old age;
They shall be [c]rich and fresh,
15 To [d]declare that (F)Yahweh is upright;
He is my (G)rock, and there is (H)no unrighteousness in Him.

Isaiah 30:8-17

Now go, (A)write it on a tablet before them
And inscribe it on a scroll,
That it may be in the time to come
[a]As a witness forever.
For this is a (B)rebellious people, (C)false sons,
Sons who are not willing to (D)listen
To the law of Yahweh,
10 Who say to the (E)seers, “You must not see,”
And to those who have visions, “You must not (F)behold visions for us of what is right,
(G)Speak to us [b]pleasant words,
Behold visions of illusions.
11 Get out of the way, (H)turn aside from the path,
[c](I)Cease speaking before us about the Holy One of Israel.”

12 Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel,

(J)Since you have rejected this word
And have put your trust in (K)oppression and deviousness and have relied on them,
13 Therefore this (L)iniquity will be to you
Like a (M)breach about to fall,
A bulge in a high wall,
Whose breaking comes (N)suddenly in an instant,
14 Whose breaking is like the breaking of a (O)potter’s jar,
[d]So ruthlessly shattered
That a potsherd will not be found among its pieces
To [e]take fire from a hearth
Or to scoop water from a cistern.”

15 For thus Lord Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel, has said,

“In [f]repentance and (P)rest you will be saved,
In (Q)quietness and trust is your might.”
But you were not willing,
16 And you said, “No, for we will flee on (R)horses,”
Therefore you shall flee!
“And we will ride on swift horses,”
Therefore those who pursue you shall be swift.
17 (S)One thousand will flee at the threat of one man;
You will flee at the threat of five,
Until you are left as a [g]flag on a mountain top
And as a [h]standard on a hill.

John 16:1-4

Jesus’ Warning

16 (A)These things I have spoken to you so that you may be kept from (B)stumbling. They will (C)put you out of the synagogue, but (D)an hour is coming for everyone (E)who kills you to think that he is offering service to God. These things they will do (F)because they did not know the Father or Me. But these things I have spoken to you, (G)so that when their hour comes, you [a]may remember that I told you of them. These things I did not say to you (H)at the beginning, because I was with you.
