Praise to the Lord for His Love and Faithfulness

A Psalm. A Song for the Sabbath day.

92 It is (A)good to give thanks to the Lord,
And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;
2 To (B)declare Your lovingkindness in the morning,
And Your faithfulness every night,
3 (C)On an instrument of ten strings,
On the lute,
And on the harp,
With harmonious sound.
4 For You, Lord, have made me glad through Your work;
I will triumph in the works of Your hands.

Psalm 92:12-15

12 (A)The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree,
He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 Those who are planted in the house of the Lord
Shall flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They shall still bear fruit in old age;
They shall be [a]fresh and [b]flourishing,
15 To declare that the Lord is upright;
(B)He is my rock, and (C)there is no unrighteousness in Him.

Proverbs 15:1-9

A Soft Answer Turns Away Wrath

15 A (A)soft answer turns away wrath,
But (B)a harsh word stirs up anger.
2 The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly,
(C)But the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness.

3 (D)The eyes of the Lord are in every place,
Keeping watch on the evil and the good.

4 A [a]wholesome tongue is a tree of life,
But perverseness in it breaks the spirit.

5 (E)A fool despises his father’s instruction,
(F)But he who [b]receives correction is prudent.

6 In the house of the righteous there is much treasure,
But in the revenue of the wicked is trouble.

7 The lips of the wise [c]disperse knowledge,
But the heart of the fool does not do so.

8 (G)The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord,
But the prayer of the upright is His delight.
9 The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord,
But He loves him who (H)follows righteousness.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

The Comfort of Christ’s Coming

13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen [a]asleep, lest you sorrow (A)as others (B)who have no hope. 14 For (C)if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him (D)those who [b]sleep in Jesus.

15 For this we say to you (E)by the word of the Lord, that (F)we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are [c]asleep. 16 For (G)the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with (H)the trumpet of God. (I)And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 (J)Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them (K)in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
