Revised Common Lectionary (Complementary)
92 It is a good thing to praise the LORD, and to sing to Your Name, O Most High,
2 to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning and Your truth in the night,
3 upon an instrument of ten strings and upon the viol, with the song upon the harp.
4 For You, LORD, have made me glad by Your works; and I will rejoice in the works of Your hands.
12 The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree and shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 Such as are planted in the House of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They shall still bring forth fruit in their old age. They shall be fat and flourishing,
15 to declare that the LORD my Rock is righteous and that no iniquity is in Him.
13 A wise son will obey the instruction of his father. But a scoffer will hear no rebuke.
2 A man shall eat good things by the fruit of his mouth. But the soul of the trespasser shall suffer violence.
3 He who keeps his mouth, keeps his life. He who opens his lips, destruction shall be to him.
4 The sluggard lusts, but his soul has nothing. But the soul of the diligent shall have plenty.
5 A righteous man hates lying words. But the wicked causes slander and shame.
6 Righteousness preserves the upright in life. But wickedness overthrows the sinner.
7 There is one who makes himself rich, and has nothing; who makes himself poor, having great riches.
8 A man will give his riches for the ransom of his life. But the poor cannot hear the reproach.
9 The light of the righteous rejoices. But the candle of the wicked shall be put out.
10 Only through pride comes strife. But with the well-advised is wisdom.
11 The riches of vanity shall diminish. But he who gathers with the hand, shall increase.
12 The hope that is deferred, is the fainting of the heart. But when the desire comes, it is as a tree of life.
12 Therefore, just as by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin, so also death spread to all mankind. For all mankind has sinned.
13 For until the time of the Law, sin was in the world. But sin was not taken into account while there was no Law.
14 But death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin in a similar way to the transgression of Adam, who was the model of Him Who was to come.
15 But still, the gift is not like the offense. For if, through the offense of the one, many died, much more so has the grace of God, and the gift (by grace) of the one man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.
16 Nor is the gift as if it were from one who sinned. Indeed, judgment unto condemnation came from one. But the gift unto justification came from many offenses.
17 For if, by the offense of one, death reigned through one, much more so shall those who receive the abundance of grace, and the gift of righteousness, reign in life through One - Jesus Christ.
18 Likewise then, as by the offense of one, judgment unto condemnation came to all mankind, so also by the righteousness of One, the benefit abounded toward all mankind, to the justification of life.
19 For, as by one man’s disobedience, many were made sinners, so also by the obedience of One, shall many be made righteous.
20 Moreover, there the Law entered, so that offense might abound. Nevertheless, where sin abounded, grace abounded much more.
21 So that, as sin had reigned unto death, so also might grace reign by righteousness unto eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
6 What, then, shall we say? Shall we continue in sin, so that grace may abound? Absolutely not!
2 How shall we, who are dead to sin, still live in it?
