Psalm 96:1-9

Psalm 96(A)

O sing unto the Lord a new song;
    sing unto the Lord, all the earth!
Sing unto the Lord, bless His name;
    declare His salvation from day to day.
Proclaim His glory among the nations,
    His wonders among all peoples.

For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised;
    He is to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the nations are worthless,
    but the Lord made the heavens.
Honor and majesty are before Him;
    strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.

Give unto the Lord, O families of the people,
    give unto the Lord glory and strength.
Give unto the Lord the glory due His name;
    bring an offering, and come into His courts.
Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness;
    tremble before Him, all the earth.

1 Kings 8:14-21

14 Then the king turned around and blessed all the congregation of Israel (and all the congregation of Israel stood), 15 and he said,

“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who spoke with His mouth to my father David and has with His hand fulfilled His word, saying, 16 ‘Since the day that I brought forth My people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city from any tribe of Israel to build a house where My name might be praised, but I chose David to be over My people Israel.’

17 “My father David had it in mind to build a house for the name of the Lord God of Israel. 18 The Lord said to my father David, ‘Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for My name, you had good intentions. 19 Nevertheless, you shall not build the house, but your son who will come out of your loins, he shall build the house for My name.’

20 “The Lord has fulfilled His word that He spoke, and I have been elevated to the position of my father David, to sit on the throne of Israel as the Lord promised, and have built a house for the name of the Lord God of Israel. 21 I have set a place there for the ark, which houses the covenant of the Lord which He made with our fathers when He brought them out of the land of Egypt.”

2 Corinthians 11:1-6

Paul and the False Apostles

11 I would to God you could bear with me a little in my folly. Indeed, bear with me. For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy. For I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear that somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve through his trickery, so your minds might be led astray from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he who comes preaches another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if you receive another spirit, which you have not received, or another gospel, which you have not accepted, you might submit to it readily enough.

For I think I am not in any way inferior to the most eminent of the apostles. Even though I am unpolished in speech, yet I am not in knowledge. All things about us have been thoroughly revealed to you.
