Psalm 84-86

84 O LORD of Hosts, how lovely are Your Tabernacles!

My soul longs, indeed, and fainted for the courts of the LORD! My heart and my flesh rejoice in the living God!

Indeed, the sparrow has found a house, and the swallow a nest for her; where she may lay her young by Your altars, O LORD of Hosts, my King and my God.

Blessed are those who dwell in Your House. They will ever praise You. Selah.

Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, in whose heart are Your ways.

They, going through the valley of Baca, make wells therein. The rain also covers the pools.

They go from strength to strength, until every one appears before God in Zion.

O, LORD God of Hosts, hear my prayer! Give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah.

Behold, O God Our Shield, and look upon the face of Your Anointed.

10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the House of my God than to dwell in the tabernacles of wickedness.

11 For the LORD God is the Sun and Shield. The LORD will give grace and glory; and He will withhold no good thing from those who walk uprightly.

12 O, LORD of Hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You. To him who excels: A Psalm committed to the sons of Korah

85 LORD, You have been favorable to Your land. You have brought back the captives of Jacob.

You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people and covered all their sins. Selah.

You have withdrawn all Your anger and have turned back from the fierceness of Your wrath.

Turn us, O God of Our Salvation, and release Your anger toward us.

Will You be angry with us forever? Will You prolong Your wrath from one generation to another?

Will You not turn again and quicken us, so that Your people may rejoice in You?

Show us Your mercy, O LORD, and grant us Your salvation.

I will listen to what the LORD God will say. For He will speak peace to His people, and to His saints, so that they do not turn again to folly.

Surely, His salvation is near to those who fear Him, so that glory may dwell in our land.

10 Mercy and truth shall meet, righteousness and peace shall kiss.

11 Truth shall bud out of the Earth and righteousness shall look down from Heaven.

12 Indeed, the LORD shall give good things and our land shall give her increase.

13 Righteousness shall go before Him and shall set her steps in the way. A prayer of David

86 Bow down Your ear, O LORD, and hear me; for I am poor and needy.

Preserve my soul, for I am merciful. My God, save Your servant who trusts in You.

Be merciful to me, O LORD, for I cry upon You continually.

Rejoice the soul of Your servant. For to You, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.

For You, LORD, are good and merciful and of great kindness to all those who call upon You.

Give ear, LORD, to my prayer and pay attention to the voice of my supplication.

In the day of my trouble, I will call upon You; for You hear me.

Among the gods there is none like You, O LORD; and there are none like Your works.

All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O LORD, and shall glorify Your Name.

10 For You are great and do wondrous things. You are God, alone.

11 Teach me Your way, O LORD, and I will walk in Your truth. Knit my heart to You, so that I may fear Your Name.

12 I will praise You, O LORD my God, with all my heart. Indeed, I will glorify Your Name forever.

13 For great is Your mercy toward me; and You have delivered my soul from the lowest grave.

14 O God, the proud have risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought my soul and have not set You before them.

15 But You, O LORD, are a pitying God, and merciful, slow to anger and great in kindness and truth.

16 Turn to me and have mercy upon me. Give Your strength to Your servant and save the son of Your handmaid.

17 Show a sign of goodness toward me, so that those who hate me may see it and be ashamed; because You, O LORD, have helped me and comforted me. A Psalm, or song, committed to the sons of Korah

Romans 12

12 Therefore, I urge you brothers, by the mercies of God, to give up your bodies - a living sacrifice; holy and acceptable to God – as your reasonable service.

And do not conform yourselves to this world. But be changed, by the renewing of your mind. So that you may test what the good and acceptable and perfect will of God is.

For I say (through the grace that is given to me) to everyone who is among you, that no one think of himself more highly than he ought. But that he judges himself soberly, according to the measure of faith God has dealt him.

For as we have many members in one body, and all members do not have the same office,

so we (being many) are one body in Christ, and each other’s members.

Seeing then that we have diverse gifts, according to the grace given to us—if prophecy, let us prophesy according to the portion of faith,

or service, let us serve, or one who teaches, in teaching,

or encouragement, in encouraging, in giving, let him do so with simplicity, in leadership, with diligence, in mercy, with cheerfulness—

love without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil, and cling to that which is good.

10 Be kindly affectionate toward one another with brotherly love. Lead one another toward honor,

11 not slothful to do service, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord,

12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing in prayer,

13 distributing to the needs of the saints, giving yourselves to the loving of strangers.

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless, I say, and do not curse.

15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

16 Be like-minded toward one another. Do not be high-minded; but align yourselves with the humble. Do not be wise in your own eyes.

17 Repay no one evil for evil. Provide honorably in the sight of all mankind.

18 If it is possible, as much as you can, be at peace with all mankind.

19 Dearly beloved, do not avenge yourselves; but give Wrath its opportunity. For it is written, “Vengeance is Mine. I will repay”, says the Lord.

20 Therefore, “If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he thirsts, give him drink. For in so doing, you shall heap coals of fire on his head.”

21 Be not overcome by evil. But, overcome evil with good.
