Psalm 143-145

Prayer for Deliverance and Guidance.

A Psalm of David.

143 Hear my prayer, O Lord,
(A)Give ear to my supplications!
Answer me in Your (B)faithfulness, in Your (C)righteousness!
And (D)do not enter into judgment with Your servant,
For in Your sight (E)no man living is righteous.
For the enemy has persecuted my soul;
He has crushed my life (F)to the ground;
He (G)has made me dwell in dark places, like those who have long been dead.
Therefore (H)my spirit [a]is overwhelmed within me;
My heart is [b](I)appalled within me.

I (J)remember the days of old;
I (K)meditate on all Your doings;
I (L)muse on the work of Your hands.
I (M)stretch out my hands to You;
My (N)soul longs for You, as a [c]parched land. [d]Selah.

(O)Answer me quickly, O Lord, my (P)spirit fails;
(Q)Do not hide Your face from me,
Or I will become like (R)those who go down to the pit.
Let me hear Your (S)lovingkindness (T)in the morning;
For I trust (U)in You;
Teach me the (V)way in which I should walk;
For to You I (W)lift up my soul.
(X)Deliver me, O Lord, from my enemies;
[e]I take refuge in You.

10 (Y)Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Let (Z)Your good Spirit (AA)lead me on level [f]ground.
11 (AB)For the sake of Your name, O Lord, (AC)revive me.
(AD)In Your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble.
12 And in Your lovingkindness, [g](AE)cut off my enemies
And (AF)destroy all those who afflict my soul,
For (AG)I am Your servant.

Prayer for Rescue and Prosperity.

A Psalm of David.

144 Blessed be the Lord, (AH)my rock,
Who (AI)trains my hands for war,
And my fingers for battle;
My lovingkindness and (AJ)my fortress,
My (AK)stronghold and my deliverer,
My (AL)shield and He in whom I take refuge,
Who (AM)subdues [h]my people under me.
O Lord, (AN)what is man, that You take knowledge of him?
Or the son of man, that You think of him?
(AO)Man is like a mere breath;
His (AP)days are like a passing shadow.

(AQ)Bow Your heavens, O Lord, and (AR)come down;
(AS)Touch the mountains, that they may smoke.
Flash forth (AT)lightning and scatter them;
Send out Your (AU)arrows and confuse them.
Stretch forth Your hand (AV)from on high;
Rescue me and (AW)deliver me out of great waters,
Out of the hand of (AX)aliens
Whose mouths (AY)speak deceit,
And whose (AZ)right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

I will sing a (BA)new song to You, O God;
Upon a (BB)harp of ten strings I will sing praises to You,
10 Who (BC)gives salvation to kings,
Who (BD)rescues David His servant from the evil sword.
11 Rescue me and deliver me out of the hand of (BE)aliens,
Whose mouth (BF)speaks deceit
And whose (BG)right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

12 Let our sons in their youth be as (BH)grown-up plants,
And our daughters as (BI)corner pillars [i]fashioned as for a palace;
13 Let our (BJ)garners be full, furnishing every kind of produce,
And our flocks bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our [j]fields;
14 Let our (BK)cattle [k]bear
Without [l](BL)mishap and without [m](BM)loss,
Let there be no (BN)outcry in our streets!
15 How blessed are the people who are so situated;
How (BO)blessed are the people whose God is the Lord!

The Lord Extolled for His Goodness.

A Psalm of Praise, of David.

145 I will (BP)extol You, (BQ)my God, O King,
And I will (BR)bless Your name forever and ever.
Every day I will bless You,
And I will (BS)praise Your name forever and ever.
(BT)Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised,
And His (BU)greatness is unsearchable.
One (BV)generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.
On the (BW)glorious [n]splendor of Your majesty
And (BX)on Your wonderful works, I will meditate.
Men shall speak of the [o]power of Your (BY)awesome acts,
And I will (BZ)tell of Your greatness.
They shall [p]eagerly utter the memory of Your (CA)abundant goodness
And will (CB)shout joyfully of Your righteousness.

The Lord is (CC)gracious and merciful;
Slow to anger and great in lovingkindness.
The Lord is (CD)good to all,
And His (CE)mercies are over all His works.
10 (CF)All Your works shall give thanks to You, O Lord,
And Your (CG)godly ones shall bless You.
11 They shall speak of the (CH)glory of Your kingdom
And talk of Your power;
12 To (CI)make known to the sons of men [q]Your mighty acts
And the (CJ)glory of the majesty of [r]Your kingdom.
13 Your kingdom is [s]an (CK)everlasting kingdom,
And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.

14 The Lord (CL)sustains all who fall
And (CM)raises up all who are bowed down.
15 The eyes of all [t]look to You,
And You (CN)give them their food in due time.
16 You (CO)open Your hand
And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

17 The Lord is (CP)righteous in all His ways
And kind in all His deeds.
18 The Lord is (CQ)near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him (CR)in truth.
19 He will (CS)fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He will also (CT)hear their cry and will save them.
20 The Lord (CU)keeps all who love Him,
But all the (CV)wicked He will destroy.
21 My (CW)mouth will speak the praise of the Lord,
And (CX)all flesh will (CY)bless His holy name forever and ever.

1 Corinthians 14:21-40

21 In (A)the Law it is written, “(B)By men of strange tongues and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people, and even so they will not listen to Me,” says the Lord. 22 So then tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers; but (C)prophecy is for a sign, not to unbelievers but to those who believe. 23 Therefore if the whole church assembles together and all speak in tongues, and [a]ungifted men or unbelievers enter, will they not say that (D)you are mad? 24 But if all (E)prophesy, and an unbeliever or an [b]ungifted man enters, he is (F)convicted by all, he is called to account by all; 25 (G)the secrets of his heart are disclosed; and so he will (H)fall on his face and worship God, (I)declaring that God is certainly among you.

26 (J)What is the outcome then, (K)brethren? When you assemble, (L)each one has a (M)psalm, has a (N)teaching, has a (O)revelation, has a (P)tongue, has an (Q)interpretation. Let (R)all things be done for edification. 27 If anyone speaks in a (S)tongue, it should be by two or at the most three, and each in turn, and one must (T)interpret; 28 but if there is no interpreter, he must keep silent in the church; and let him speak to himself and to God. 29 Let two or three (U)prophets speak, and let the others (V)pass judgment. 30 But if a revelation is made to another who is seated, the first one must keep silent. 31 For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all may be exhorted; 32 and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets; 33 for God is not a God of (W)confusion but of [c]peace, as in (X)all the churches of the (Y)saints.

34 The women are to (Z)keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but (AA)are to subject themselves, just as (AB)the Law also says. 35 If they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is [d]improper for a woman to speak in church. 36 [e]Was it from you that the word of God first went forth? Or has it come to you only?

37 (AC)If anyone thinks he is a prophet or (AD)spiritual, let him recognize that the things which I write to you (AE)are the Lord’s commandment. 38 But if anyone does not recognize this, he [f]is not recognized.

39 Therefore, my brethren, (AF)desire earnestly to (AG)prophesy, and do not forbid to speak in tongues. 40 But (AH)all things must be done properly and in an orderly manner.
