New Testament in a Year
(A)[a]And this is the [b]condemnation, that that light came into the world, and men loved darkness rather than that light, because their deeds were evil.
For every man that evil doeth, hateth the light, neither cometh to light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
But he that [c]doeth truth, cometh to the light, that his deeds might be made manifest, that they are wrought [d]according to God.
¶ After these things came Jesus, and his disciples into the land of Judea, and there tarried with them, and (B)baptized.
And John also baptized in Aenon besides Salim, because there was much water there: and they came and were baptized.
For John was not yet cast into prison.
[e]Then there arose a question between John’s disciples and the Jews, about purifying.
And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom (C)thou barest witness, behold, he baptizeth, and all men come to him.
John answered, and said, A man [f]can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
Ye yourselves are my witnesses, that (D)I said, I am not that Christ, but that I am sent before him.
He that hath the bride, is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly, because of the bridegroom’s voice. This my joy therefore is fulfilled.
He must increase, but I must decrease.
He that is come from on high, is above all: he that is of the earth, is of the [g]earth, and [h]speaketh of the earth: he that is come from heaven, is above all.
And what he hath [i]seen and heard, that he testifieth: but [j]no man receiveth his testimony.
He that hath receiveth his testimony, hath sealed that (E)God is true.
For he whom God hath sent, speaketh the words of God: for God giveth him not the Spirit by measure.
The Father loveth the Son, and hath (F)[k]given all things into his hand.
(G)He that believeth in the Son, hath everlasting life, and he that obeyeth not the Son, shall not [l]see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.
