M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
5 1 The birthright taken from Reuben and given to the sons of Joseph. 3 The genealogy of Reuben, 11 and Gad, 23 and of the half tribe of Manasseh.
1 The sons also of Reuben the eldest son of Israel (for he was the eldest, (A)but had defiled his father’s bed, therefore his birthright was given unto the [a]sons of Joseph the son of Israel, so that the genealogy is not reckoned after his birthright.
2 For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came [b]the prince, but the birthright was Joseph’s)
3 (B)The sons of Reuben the eldest son of Israel, were Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi.
4 The sons of Joel, Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, and Shimei his son,
5 Micah his son, Reaiah his son, and Baal his son,
6 Beerah his son: whom Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria [c]carried away, he was a prince of the Reubenites.
7 And when his brethren in their families reckoned the genealogy of their generations, Jeiel and Zechariah were the chief,
8 And Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, which dwelt in [d]Aroer even unto Nebo and Baal Meon.
9 Also Eastward he inhabited unto the entering in of the wilderness from the river [e]Perath: for they had much cattle in the land of Gilead.
10 And in the days of Saul they warred with the [f]Hagrites, which fell by their hands: and they dwelt in their tents in all the East parts of Gilead.
11 ¶ And the children of Gad dwelt over against them in the land of Bashan, unto Salcah.
12 Joel was the chiefest, and Shapham the second, but Jaanai and Shaphat were in Bashan.
13 And their brethren of the house of their fathers were Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia and Eber, seven.
14 These are the children of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz.
15 Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni was chief of the household of their fathers.
16 And they dwelt in Gilead in [g]Bashan, and in the towns thereof, and in all the suburbs of Sharon by their borders.
17 All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham King of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
18 ¶ The sons of Reuben and of Gad, and of half the tribe of Manasseh of those that were valiant men, able to bear shield and sword, and to draw a bow exercised in war, were four and forty thousand, seven hundred and threescore, that went out to the war.
19 And they made war with the Hagrites, with [h]Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab.
20 And they were [i]helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he heard them, because they trusted in him.
21 And they led away their cattle, even their camels fifty thousand, and two hundred and fifty thousand sheep, and two thousand asses, and of [j]persons an hundred thousand.
22 For many fell down wounded, because the war was of God. And they dwelt in their steads until the [k]captivity.
23 And the children of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land, from Bashan unto [l]Baal Hermon, and Senir, and unto mount Hermon: for they increased.
24 And these were the heads of the households of their fathers, even Epher and Ishi, and Eliel and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, strong men, valiant and famous, heads of the households of their fathers.
25 But they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God had destroyed before them.
26 And the God of Israel [m]stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria, and he carried them away: even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto (C)Halah and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto this day.

17 And these be the names of the sons of Gershon, Libni, and Shimei.
18 And the sons of Kohath were Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron and Uzziel.
19 The sons of Merari, Mahli and Mushi: and these are the families of Levi concerning their fathers.

30 Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, Asaiah his son.
31 And these be they whom David set for to sing in the house of the Lord, after that the Ark had [s]rest.
32 And they ministered before the Tabernacle, even the Tabernacle of the Congregation with [t]singing, until Solomon had built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem: then they continued in their office, according to their custom.
33 And these ministered with their children: of the sons of Kohath, Heman a singer, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel,
34 The son of Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toah,

40 The son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Malchijah,

46 The son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shamer,
47 The son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.
48 ¶ And their [x]brethren the Levites were [y]appointed unto all the service of the Tabernacle of the house of God,
49 But Aaron and his sons burnt incense upon the altar of burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, for all that was to do in the most holy place, and to make an atonement for Israel according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.
50 These are also the sons of Aaron, Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,
51 Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son,
52 Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son,
53 Zadok his son, and Ahimaaz his son.
54 ¶ And these are the [z]dwelling places of them throughout their towns and coasts, even of the sons of Aaron for the family of the Kohathites, for the [aa]lot was theirs.
55 So they gave them [ab]Hebron in the land of Judah and the suburbs thereof round about it.
56 But the field of the city, and the villages thereof they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.
57 And to the sons of Aaron they gave the cities of Judah for [ac]refuge, even Hebron and Libnah with their suburbs, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa with their suburbs,
58 And [ad]Hilen with her suburbs, and Debir with her suburbs,
59 And Ashan and her suburbs, and Beth Shemesh and her suburbs:
60 ¶ And of the tribe of Benjamin, Geba and her suburbs, and [ae]Alemeth with her suburbs, and Anathoth with her suburbs: all their cities were thirteen cities by their families.
61 And unto the sons of [af]Kohath the remnant of the family of the tribe, even of the half tribe of the half of Manasseh, by lot ten cities.

80 And out of the tribe of Gad Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs, and Mahanaim with her suburbs,

10 1 He proveth that the sacrifices of the Law were imperfect, 2 because they were yearly renewed. 5 But that the sacrifice of Christ is one, and perpetual, 6 he proveth by David’s testimony: 19 Then he addeth an exhortation, 29 and severely threateneth them that reject the grace of Christ. 36 In the end he praiseth patience, 38 that cometh of faith.
1 For [a]the law having the shadow of good things to [b]come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices, which they offer year by year continually, sanctify the comers thereunto.
2 For would they not then have ceased to have been offered, because that the offerers once purged, should have had no more conscience of sins?
3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again of sins every year.
4 For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.
5 [c]Wherefore when he [d]cometh into the world, he saith, (A)Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not: but a [e]body hast thou ordained me.
6 In burnt offerings, and sin offerings thou hast had no pleasure.
7 Then I said, Lo, I come (in the beginning of the book it is written of me) that I should do thy will, O God.
8 Above, when he said, Sacrifice and offering, and burnt offerings, and sin offerings, thou wouldest not have, neither hadst pleasure therein (which are offered by the Law.)
9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God, he taketh away the [f]first, that he may stablish the second.
10 By the which will we are sanctified, even by the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once made.
11 [g]And every Priest [h]standeth daily ministering, and ofttimes offereth one manner of offering, which can never take away sins:
12 But this man after he had offered one sacrifice for sins, (B)sitteth forever at the right hand of God,
13 [i]And from henceforth tarrieth, (C)till his enemies be made his footstool.
14 For with one offering hath he consecrated forever them that are sanctified.
15 [j]For the holy Ghost also beareth us record: for after that he had said before,
16 (D)This is the Testament that I will make unto them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my Laws in their heart, and in their minds I will write them.
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember [k]no more.
18 Now where remission of these things is, there is no more offering for [l]sin.
19 [m]Seeing therefore, brethren, that by the blood of Jesus we may be bold to enter into the Holy place,
20 By the new and living way, which he hath prepared for us, through the veil, that is, his [n]flesh:
21 And seeing we have an high Priest, which is over the house of God,
22 [o]Let us draw near with a [p]true heart in assurance of faith, our [q]hearts being pure from an evil conscience,
23 And washed in our bodies with [r]pure water, let us keep the profession of our hope, without wavering, (for he is faithful that promised.)
24 And let us consider one another, to provoke unto love, and to good works,
25 Not forsaking the fellowship that we have among ourselves, as the manner of some is: but let us exhort one another, [s]and that so much the more, because ye see that the day draweth near.
26 (E)For if we sin [t]willingly after that we have received and acknowledged that truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a fearful looking for of judgment, and violent fire, which shall devour the [u]adversaries.
28 [v]He that despiseth Moses’ Law, dieth without mercy (F)under two, or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment suppose ye shall he be worthy, which treadeth under foot the Son of God, and counteth the blood of the Testament as an unholy thing, wherewith he was sanctified, and doeth despite the Spirit of grace?
30 [w]For we know him that hath said, (G)Vengeance belongeth unto me: I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall [x]judge his people.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
32 [y]Now call to remembrance the days that are passed, in the which, after ye had received light ye endured a great fight in afflictions,
33 Partly while ye were made a [z]gazing stock both by reproaches and afflictions, and partly while ye became [aa]companions of them which were so tossed to and fro.
34 For both ye sorrowed with me for my bonds, and suffered with joy the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves how that ye have in heaven a better, and an enduring [ab]substance.
35 Cast not away therefore your confidence which hath great recompense of reward.
36 For ye have need of patience, that after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
37 For yet a very [ac]little while, and he that shall come, will come, and will not tarry.
38 (H)[ad]Now the just shall live by faith: but if any withdraw himself, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
39 But we are not they which withdraw ourselves unto perdition, but follow faith unto the conservation of the soul.
4 Against the governors of Samaria.
1 Hear this word, ye [a]kine of Bashan that are in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, and destroy the needy, and they say to their masters, [b]Bring, and let us drink.
2 The Lord God hath sworn by his holiness, that lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you away with [c]thorns, and your posterity with fish-hooks.
3 And ye shall go out at the breaches every cow forward: and ye shall cast yourselves out of the palace, saith the Lord.
4 Come to [d]Bethel, and transgress: to Gilgal, and multiply transgression, and bring your sacrifices in the morning, and your riches after three [e]years.
5 And offer a thanksgiving [f]of leaven, publish and proclaim the free offerings: for this [g]liketh you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord God.
6 And therefore have I given you [h]cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and scarceness of bread in all your places, yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.
7 And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three [i]months to the harvest, and I caused it to rain upon one city, and have not caused it to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not, withered.
8 So two or three cities wandered unto one city to drink water, but they were [j]not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.
9 I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: your great gardens and your vineyards, and your fig trees, and your olive trees did the palmerworm devour: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.
10 Pestilence have I sent among you after the manner of [k]Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses: and I have made the stink of your tents to come up even into your nostrils, yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.
11 I have overthrown you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah: and ye were as a [l]firebrand plucked out of the burning, yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.
12 Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do thus unto thee, prepare to [m]meet thy God, O Israel.
13 For lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought: which maketh the morning darkness, and walketh upon the high places of the earth, the Lord God of hosts is his Name.
148 1 He provoketh all creatures to praise the Lord in heaven and earth, and all places. 14 Specially his Church, for the power that he hath given to the same, after that he had chosen them and joined them unto him.
Praise ye the Lord.
1 Praise ye the Lord from the heaven: praise ye him in the high places.
2 Praise ye him, all ye [a]his Angels: praise him, all his army.
3 Praise ye him, [b]sun and moon: praise ye him all bright stars.
4 Praise ye him [c]heavens of heavens, and [d]waters, that be above the heavens.
5 Let them praise the Name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.
6 And he hath established them forever and ever: he hath made an ordinance, which shall not pass.
7 Praise ye the Lord from the earth, ye [e]dragons and all depths:
8 [f]Fire and hail, snow and vapors, stormy wind, which execute his word.
9 Mountains and all hills, fruitful trees, and all cedars:
10 Beasts and all cattle, creeping things and feathered fowls:
11 [g]Kings of the earth and all people, princes and all judges of the world:
12 Young men and maidens, also old men and children:
13 Let them praise the Name of the Lord: for his Name only is to be exalted, and his praise above the earth and the heavens.
14 For he hath exalted the [h]horn of his people, which is a praise for all his Saints, even for the [i]children of Israel, a people that is near unto him. Praise ye the Lord.
149 1 An exhortation to the Church to praise the Lord for his victory and conquest, that he giveth his Saints against all man’s power.
Praise ye the Lord.
1 Sing ye unto the Lord [j]a new song: let his praise be heard in the Congregation of Saints.
2 Let Israel rejoice in him that [k]made him, and let the children of Zion rejoice in their [l]King.
3 Let them praise his Name with the flute: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
4 For the Lord hath pleasure in his people: he will make the meek glorious by deliverance.
5 Let the Saints be joyful with glory: let them sing loud upon their [m]beds.
6 Let the high Acts of God be in their mouth, and a two edged sword in their hands,
7 [n]To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and corrections among the people:
8 To bind [o]their kings in chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron,
9 That they may execute upon them the judgment that is [p]written: this honor shall be to all his Saints. Praise ye the Lord.
150 1 An exhortation to praise the Lord without cease by all manner of ways for all his mighty and wonderful works.
Praise ye the Lord.
1 Praise ye God in his [q]Sanctuary: praise ye him in the [r]firmament of his power.
2 Praise ye him in his mighty Acts: praise ye him according to his excellent greatness.
3 Praise ye him in the sound of the [s]trumpet: praise ye him upon the viol and the harp.
4 Praise ye him with timbrel and flute: praise ye him with virginals and organs.
5 Praise ye him with sounding cymbals: praise ye him with high sounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that hath [t]breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.
