Leviticus 20

20 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

“Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel: ‘Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers who sojourn in Israel, who giveth any of his seed unto Molech, he shall surely be put to death. The people of the land shall stone him with stones.

And I will set My face against that man and will cut him off from among his people, because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile My sanctuary and to profane My holy name.

And if the people of the land do in any way hide their eyes from the man when he giveth of his seed unto Molech and kill him not,

then I will set My face against that man and against his family and will cut him off, and all who go a whoring after him to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.

“‘And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits and after wizards to go a whoring after them, I will even set My face against that soul and will cut him off from among his people.

“‘Sanctify yourselves therefore and be ye holy, for I am the Lord your God.

“‘And ye shall keep My statutes and do them: I am the Lord who sanctify you.

“‘For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death. He hath cursed his father or his mother: his blood shall be upon him.

10 “‘And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

11 And the man that lieth with his father’s wife hath uncovered his father’s nakedness. Both of them shall surely be put to death: their blood shall be upon them.

12 And if a man lie with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death. They have wrought confusion: their blood shall be upon them.

13 “‘If a man also lie with mankind as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death: their blood shall be upon them.

14 “‘And if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness. They shall be burned with fire, both he and they, that there be no wickedness among you.

15 “‘And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death; and ye shall slay the beast.

16 And if a woman approach unto any beast and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman and the beast. They shall surely be put to death: their blood shall be upon them.

17 “‘And if a man shall take his sister, his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter, and see her nakedness and she see his nakedness, it is a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people. He hath uncovered his sister’s nakedness: he shall bear his iniquity.

18 “‘And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness and shall uncover her nakedness, he hath discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood; and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.

19 And thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother’s sister nor of thy father’s sister, for he uncovereth his near kin: they shall bear their iniquity.

20 And if a man shall lie with his uncle’s wife, he hath uncovered his uncle’s nakedness. They shall bear their sin: they shall die childless.

21 And if a man shall take his brother’s wife, it is an unclean thing. He hath uncovered his brother’s nakedness: they shall be childless.

22 “‘Ye shall therefore keep all My statutes and all My judgments, and do them, that the land whither I bring you to dwell therein spew you not out.

23 And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation which I cast out before you; for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.

24 But I have said unto you, “Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey.” I am the Lord your God, who have separated you from other people.

25 Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean; and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.

26 And ye shall be holy unto Me; for I the Lord am holy and have severed you from other people, that ye should be Mine.

27 “‘A man also or woman who hath a familiar spirit, or who is a wizard, shall surely be put to death. They shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.’”

Psalm 25

25 Unto Thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul;

O my God, I trust in Thee. Let me not be ashamed; let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Yea, let none that wait on Thee be ashamed; let them be ashamed that transgress without cause.

Show me Thy ways, O Lord; teach me Thy paths.

Lead me in Thy truth and teach me, for Thou art the God of my salvation; on Thee do I wait all the day.

Remember, O Lord, Thy tender mercies and Thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.

Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions; according to Thy mercy remember Thou me, for Thy goodness’ sake, O Lord.

Good and upright is the Lord; therefore will He teach sinners in the way.

The meek will He guide in judgment, and the meek will He teach His way.

10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, unto them that keep His covenant and His testimonies.

11 For Thy name’s sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity, for it is great.

12 What man is he that feareth the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way that He shall choose.

13 His soul shall dwell at ease, and his seed shall inherit the earth.

14 The secret of the Lord is with them that fear Him, and He will show them His covenant.

15 Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord, for He shall pluck my feet out of the net.

16 Turn Thee unto me and have mercy upon me, for I am desolate and afflicted.

17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged; O bring Thou me out of my distresses.

18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain, and forgive all my sins.

19 Consider mine enemies, for they are many; they hate me with cruel hatred.

20 O keep my soul and deliver me; let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in Thee.

21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait on Thee.

22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles!

Ecclesiastes 3

To every thing there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heaven:

a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

What profit hath he that worketh in that for which he laboreth?

10 I have seen the travail which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.

11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time. Also He hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice and to do good in his life,

13 and also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor: it is the gift of God.

14 I know that whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. And God doeth it, that men should fear before Him.

15 That which hath been is now, and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.

17 I said in mine heart, “God shall judge the righteous and the wicked, for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.”

18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other. Yea, they have all one breath, so that man hath no preeminence above a beast, for all is vanity.

20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

22 Therefore I perceived that there is nothing better than that a man should rejoice in his own works, for that is his portion; for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

1 Timothy 5

Rebuke not an elder, but entreat him as a father, and the younger men as brethren,

the elder women as mothers, the younger as sisters, in all purity.

Honor widows who are truly widows.

But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety at home and to requite their parents, for that is good and acceptable before God.

Now she that is indeed a widow, and desolate, trusteth in God and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.

But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.

And these things charge them, that they may be blameless.

But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith and is worse than an infidel.

Let not a widow be taken into the number under three score years old, having been the wife of one man,

10 well reported of for good works: if she has brought up children, if she has lodged strangers, if she has washed the saints’ feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, if she has diligently followed every good work.

11 But the younger widows refuse, for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry,

12 having damnation because they have cast off their first faith.

13 And besides they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

14 It is my will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give no occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

15 For some have already turned aside after Satan.

16 If any man or woman who believeth have widows, let them relieve them and let not the church be burdened, that it may assist those who are widows indeed.

17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the Word and doctrine.

18 For the Scripture saith, “Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn,” and, “The laborer is worthy of his reward.”

19 Against an elder receive not an accusation, except before two or three witnesses.

20 Those who sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

21 I charge thee before God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.

22 Lay hands hastily on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins. Keep thyself pure.

23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake and thy frequent infirmities.

24 Some men’s sins are open beforehand, going on to judgment; and in some men they follow after.

25 Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand, but they that are otherwise cannot be hid.
