M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
29 ¶ And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have a holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work; it is a day of sounding an alarm unto you.
2 And ye shall offer a burnt offering for an acceptable savour unto the LORD: one young bullock, one ram, and seven lambs of the first year without blemish;
3 and their present shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals with each bullock, and two tenth deals with each ram,
4 and one tenth deal with each of the seven lambs;
5 and one he goat as the sin, to reconcile you.
6 Besides the burnt offering of the month and its present, and the daily burnt offering and its present and their drink offerings, according to their law, for an acceptable savour, a sacrifice on fire unto the LORD.
7 And ye shall have on the tenth of this seventh month a holy convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls; ye shall not do any work;
8 and ye shall offer in burnt offering unto the LORD for an acceptable savour: one young bullock, one ram, and seven lambs of the first year; they shall be unto you without blemish.
9 And their presents shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals with each bullock, and two tenth deals with each ram,
10 a tenth deal for each of the seven lambs;
11 one he goat as the sin, besides the offering of the reconciliations for the sin, and the continual burnt offering and its presents and their drink offerings.
12 ¶ Also on the fifteenth day of the seventh month ye shall have a holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work, and ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days;
13 and ye shall offer in burnt offering, a sacrifice on fire, of an acceptable savour unto the LORD: thirteen young bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year; they shall be without blemish
14 and their presents of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals with each of the thirteen bullocks, two tenth deals with each of the two rams,
15 and one tenth deal with each of the fourteen lambs;
16 and one he goat as the sin, besides the continual burnt offering, its present, and its drink offering.
17 And on the second day ye shall offer twelve young bullocks, two rams, fourteen lambs of the first year without spot;
18 and their presents and their drink offerings with the bullocks, with the rams, and with the lambs shall be according to their number, according to the law;
19 And one he goat as the sin, besides the continual burnt offering and its present and its drink offering.
20 And on the third day eleven bullocks, two rams, fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish;
21 and their presents and their drink offerings with the bullocks, with the rams, and with the lambs shall be according to their number, according to the law;
22 and one he goat as the sin, besides the continual burnt offering and its present and its drink offering.
23 And on the fourth day ten bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish;
24 their presents and their drink offerings with the bullocks, with the rams, and with the lambs shall be according to their number, according to the law;
25 and one he goat as the sin, besides the continual burnt offering, its present, and its drink offering.
26 And on the fifth day nine bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without spot;
27 and their presents and their drink offerings with the bullocks, with the rams, and with the lambs shall be according to their number, according to the law;
28 and one he goat as the sin, besides the continual burnt offering, and its present, and its drink offering.
29 And on the sixth day eight bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish;
30 and their presents and their drink offerings with the bullocks, with the rams, and with the lambs shall be according to their number, according to the law;
31 and one he goat as the sin, besides the continual burnt offering, its present, and its drink offering.
32 And on the seventh day seven bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish;
33 and their presents and their drink offerings with the bullocks, with the rams, and with the lambs shall be according to their number, according to the law;
34 and one he goat as the sin, besides the continual burnt offering, its present, and its drink offering.
35 On the eighth day ye shall have a solemn assembly; ye shall do no servile work:
36 And ye shall offer in burnt offering, in a sacrifice on fire, of an acceptable savour unto the LORD one bullock, one ram, seven lambs of the first year without blemish;
37 their presents and their drink offerings with the bullock, with the ram, and with the lambs shall be according to their number, according to the law;
38 and one he goat as the sin, besides the continual burnt offering and its present and its drink offering.
39 These things ye shall offer unto the LORD in your solemnities, besides your vows, and your freewill offerings, in your burnt offerings, and in your presents, and in your drink offerings, and in your peace offerings.
40 And Moses told the sons of Israel according to all that the LORD had commanded Moses.
1 ¶ Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are pure in heart.
2 But as for me, my feet almost departed from the way; my steps had almost slipped.
3 For I became angry against the foolish when I saw the peace of the wicked.
4 Because there is no restraint that would bring about their death, but their strength is firm.
5 They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.
6 Therefore they are crowned with pride; they cover themselves with violence as a garment.
7 Their eyes stand out with fatness; they easily obtain the desires of their heart.
8 They are lawless and speak wickedly of doing violence; they speak loftily.
9 They set their mouth against heaven, and their tongue walks through the earth.
10 Therefore his people shall return here; and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.
11 And they say, How does God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?
12 Behold, these ungodly men, without being troubled by the world obtain riches.
13 Verily, in vain have I cleansed my heart and washed my hands in innocency
14 and been plagued all day long and chastened every morning:
15 ¶ If I should say, I will speak as they do; behold, I should deny the generation of thy sons.
16 I shall meditate that I might understand this; it is very hard for me to see.
17 When I come into the sanctuary of God, then I shall understand their end.
18 Surely thou didst set them in slippery places; in desolation thou shalt cause them to fall.
19 How they are brought into desolation, as in a moment! They have come to an end; they are utterly consumed with terrors.
20 As the dream of one who awakes; so, O Lord, when thou shalt rise up, thou shalt despise their appearances.
21 ¶ Truly my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my kidneys.
22 But I was ignorant and did not understand; I was as a beast before thee.
23 Nevertheless I was continually with thee; thou hast apprehended me by my right hand.
24 Thou hast guided me with thy counsel, and afterward thou shalt receive me unto glory.
25 Whom have I in heaven but thee? And apart from thee there is nothing upon the earth that I desire.
26 My flesh and my heart fail; the strength of my heart is that God is my portion for ever.
27 For, behold, those that stray from thee shall perish; thou dost cut off all those that go a whoring from thee.
28 But as for me, to draw near to God is good; I have put my hope in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
21 ¶ The burden of the desert of the sea. As the whirlwinds which pass through the wilderness in the land of the south, so they come from the terrible land.
2 A grievous vision is shown unto me. For one who is treacherous, another who deals treacherously, and for one destroyer, another destroyer. Rise up, Elam; besiege Media; all the sighing thereof I have made to cease.
3 Therefore my loins are filled with pain; pangs have taken hold upon me as the pangs of a woman that travails; I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it.
4 My heart panted; the horror frightened me; the night of my pleasure he has turned into fear unto me.
5 Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink; arise, ye princes, and anoint the shield.
6 For thus has the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman who shall declare what he sees.
7 And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; then he looked with more diligence;
8 and he cried, A lion upon the watchman. My lord, I stand continually all the day and all night long upon my watchtower.
9 And, behold, this chariot of men comes with a couple of horsemen. Afterwards he spoke and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he has broken unto the ground.
10 O my harvest, and the people of my threshing floor, that which I have heard of the LORD of the hosts, the God of Israel, I have declared unto you.
11 ¶ The burden of Dumah. He calls to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of this night? Watchman, what of this night?
12 The watchman said, The morning comes and then the night; if ye will enquire, enquire ye; return, and come.
13 ¶ The burden upon Arabia. In the forest ye shall pass the night in Arabia, O ye walkers of Dedanim.
14 Go ye out to meet them bringing water for the thirsty, O inhabitants of the land of Tema; succour those who are fleeing with your bread.
15 For they flee from the presence of the sword, from the presence of the drawn sword, from the presence of the bent bow, from the presence of the grievousness of the battle.
16 For thus has the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of a hireling, all the glory of Kedar shall be undone:
17 And the residue of the number of valiant archers, sons of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel has spoken it.
2 ¶ But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who covertly shall bring in destructive sects and shall deny the Lord that bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways, by reason of whom the way of truth shall be blasphemed;
3 ¶ and in covetousness they shall make merchandise of you with feigned words, upon whom the condemnation from a long time ago does not delay, and their perdition does not sleep.
4 For if God did not forgive the angels that sinned, but cast them down into the deepest abyss {Gr. Tartarus} and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
5 and if he did not forgive the old world, but kept Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven other persons, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
6 and if he condemned by destruction the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha, turning them into ashes, making them an example unto those that after should live without fear and reverence of God;
7 ¶ and delivered just Lot, who was persecuted by those abominable people because of their nefarious conversation;
8 (for that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, afflicted his righteous soul from day to day with the deeds of those unjust people);
9 the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished;
10 ¶ and chiefly those that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise dominion; presumptuous, arrogant, they are not afraid to speak evil of the higher powers;
11 whereas even the angels, who are greater in power and might, bring no curse of judgment against them before the Lord.
12 But these, speaking evil of the things that they do not understand (as natural animals without reason, who are made to be taken and destroyed), shall utterly perish in their own corruption,
13 receiving the reward of their unrighteousness, as those that count it pleasure to live luxuriously every day. These are spots and blemishes, who eat together with you, while at the same time they revel in their deceit,
14 having their eyes full of adultery, and not knowing how to cease from sin, baiting unstable souls, having their heart exercised in covetous practices; cursed sons,
15 who forsaking the right way have erred, having followed the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness,
16 and was rebuked for his iniquity; a dumb animal accustomed to a yoke (upon which he was seated), speaking with man’s voice, hindered the madness of the prophet.
17 These are wells without water, clouds that are brought by a whirlwind, to whom gross darkness is reserved for ever.
18 For speaking arrogant words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from those who converse in error,
19 promising them liberty, being they themselves the slaves of corruption: for he who is overcome by someone is subject to bondage by the one that overcame him.
20 Certainly, if having separated themselves from the contaminations of the world, by the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they again entangle themselves therein and are overcome, their latter end is made worse for them than the beginnings.
21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it has happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog returns unto his own vomit, and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
