10 ¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh for I have hardened his heart and the heart of his slaves that I might show these my signs among them

and that thou may tell in the ears of thy sons and of thy son’s sons the things I did in Egypt and my signs which I gave among them and that ye may know that I am the LORD.

Then Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh and said unto him, Thus hath the LORD God of the Hebrews said, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? Let my people go that they may serve me.

For if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring the locusts into thy borders,

and they shall cover the face of the earth that one will not be able to see the earth, and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remains unto you from the hail and shall eat every tree which produces fruit for you out of the field:

And they shall fill thy houses and the houses of all thy slaves and the houses of all the Egyptians, which neither thy fathers, nor thy fathers’ fathers have seen since the day that they were upon the earth unto this day. And he turned himself and went out from Pharaoh.

Then Pharaoh’s slaves said unto him, How long shall this man be a snare unto us? Let the men go that they may serve the LORD their God; knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?

And Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh; and he said unto them, Go, serve the LORD your God. Who are those that shall go?

And Moses replied, We must go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our sheep and with our cows we must go; for we have a solemn feast unto the LORD.

10 And he said unto them, Even if the LORD be with you, how can I let you go with your little ones; look at the malice which is before your face.

11 It shall not be so: go now ye that are men and serve the LORD; for that is what ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh’s presence.

12 ¶ Then the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt to bring the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt and eat all the grass of the land and all that the hail has left.

13 And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.

14 And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt and landed in all the borders of Egypt. Very grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall there be such.

15 For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they ate all the grass of the land and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left; and there did not remain any green thing in the trees or in the grass of the field, through all the land of Egypt.

16 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against the LORD your God and against you.

17 Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and intreat the LORD your God, that he may take away from me this death only.

18 And he went out from Pharaoh and intreated the LORD.

19 And the LORD turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts and cast them into the Red Sea; there remained not one locust in all the borders of Egypt.

20 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not let the sons of Israel go.

21 ¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.

22 And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven, and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days.

23 They did not see one another, neither did any rise from his place for three days; but all the sons of Israel had light in their dwellings.

24 Then Pharaoh called unto Moses and said, Go, serve the LORD; only let your sheep and your cows remain; let your little ones also go with you.

25 And Moses replied, Thou also must give us sacrifices and burnt offerings that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God.

26 Our cattle shall also go with us; not a hoof shall be left behind; for we must take thereof to serve the LORD our God; and we do not know with what we must serve the LORD until we arrive there.

27 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let them go.

28 And Pharaoh said unto him, Go from me, take heed to thyself to see my face no more; for in the day that thou seest my face thou shalt die.

29 And Moses replied, Thou hast spoken well, I will not see thy face again.

Luke 13

13 ¶ There were present at the same time some that told him of the Galilaeans whose blood Pilate had mingled with his sacrifices.

And Jesus, answering, said unto them, Think ye that these Galilaeans suffered such things because they were greater sinners than all the other Galilaeans?

I tell you, No; but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Or those eighteen upon whom the tower in Siloam fell and slew them, think ye that they were greater debtors than all the other men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

I tell you, No; but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

¶ And He spoke this parable: A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came and sought fruit upon it and found none.

Then he said unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none; cut it down; why does it cumber the ground?

And he, answering, said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also until I shall dig about it and dung it,

and if it bears fruit, well; and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

10 ¶ And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.

11 And, behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years and was bowed together and could in no wise lift herself up.

12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.

13 And he laid his hands on her, and immediately she was made straight and glorified God.

14 And the prince of the synagogue answered with indignation because Jesus had healed on the sabbath, and said unto the people, There are six days in which it behooves men to work; in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.

15 The Lord then answered him and said, Thou hypocrite, does not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall and lead it away to drink?

16 And regarding this daughter of Abraham, who, behold, Satan had bound eighteen years, does it not behoove us to release her from this bond on the Sabbath day?

17 And as he said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed, but all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

18 ¶ Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and unto what shall I compare it?

19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and cast into his garden; and it grew and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the heaven lodged in the branches of it.

20 And again he said, Unto what shall I compare the kingdom of God?

21 It is like leaven which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal until the whole was leavened.

22 And he went through the cities and villages, teaching and journeying toward Jerusalem.

23 ¶ Then someone said unto him, Lord, are there few that are saved? And he said unto them,

24 Strive to enter in at the narrow gate; for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in and shall not be able.

25 When once the husband of the house is risen up and shall have shut the door, and ye begin to stand without and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not from where ye are,

26 then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.

27 But he shall say unto you, I know you not from where ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

28 In that place shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth when ye shall see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

29 And others shall come from the east and from the west and from the north and from the south and shall sit at the table in the kingdom of God.

30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.

31 ¶ The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Go out and depart from here, for Herod will kill thee.

32 And he said unto them, Go ye and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out demons, and I do cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.

33 Nevertheless I must walk today and tomorrow and the day following, for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which kills the prophets and stones those that are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and ye would not!

35 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate; and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me until the time comes when ye shall say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord.

Job 28

28 ¶ Surely there is a mine for the silver, and a place for gold where they refine it.

Iron is taken out of the dust, and bronze is melted out of the stone.

He set a border unto the darkness, and unto every perfect work that he made, he placed a stone of darkness and shadow of death.

The river breaks forth next to the inhabitant; even the waters forgotten of the foot, that were higher than man, are gone away.

Land out of which bread comes forth, and underneath it shall be as if it were converted in fire.

A place where its stones shall be sapphires; and it shall have dust of gold.

A path which no fowl knows and which the vulture’s eye has never seen;

the young of the proud have not trodden it, nor has the fierce lion passed by it.

He put his hand upon the flint and overturned the mountains from the root.

10 He cut rivers out of the rocks; and his eye saw every precious thing.

11 He detained the rivers in their source and caused that which was hid to be brought to light.

12 But where shall wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?

13 Man never knew its price; neither is it found in the land of the living.

14 ¶ The deep saith, It is not in me; and the sea saith, It is not with me.

15 It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for its price.

16 It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx or the sapphire.

17 Gold cannot equal it, nor can diamond; neither shall it be exchanged for vessels of fine gold.

18 No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls; for wisdom is better than precious stones.

19 The emerald of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.

20 ¶ Where then does wisdom come from? And where is the place of understanding?

21 Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living and kept concealed from every fowl of the heaven.

22 Hell and death say, We have heard its fame with our ears.

23 God understands its way, and he alone knows its place.

24 For he looks unto the ends of the earth and sees under the whole heaven,

25 To make a weight for the wind and to supply water by measure,

26 when he made a law for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunders.

27 Then he saw it and counted it; he prepared it and also searched it out.

28 And unto man he said, Behold, that the fear of the Lord, is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

1 Corinthians 14

14 ¶ Follow after charity and earnestly pursue spiritual gifts, but above all, that ye may prophesy.

For he that speaks in an unknown tongue speaks not unto men, but unto God, for no one understands him, even though by the Spirit he speaks mysteries.

But he that prophesies speaks unto men for edification and exhortation and comfort.

He that speaks in an unknown tongue edifies himself, but he that prophesies edifies the congregation. {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}

I would that ye all spoke with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied, for greater is he that prophesies than he that speaks with tongues, unless he interprets, that the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} may receive edifying.

¶ Now, brothers, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you unless I speak to you either with revelation or with knowledge or with prophecy or with doctrine?

And even things without life giving sound, whether flute or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is played or harped?

For if the trumpet gives an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?

So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue a clear and definite word, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.

10 There are many kinds of distinct voices in the world, and nothing is dumb.

11 Therefore, if I ignore the virtue of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaks as a barbarian, and he that speaks shall be a barbarian unto me.

12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye desire the things of the Spirit, earnestly pursue excellence unto the edification of the congregation. {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}

13 Therefore, let him that speaks in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.

15 ¶ What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also; I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupies the place of the ignorant say, Amen, at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understands not what thou sayest?

17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.

18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all;

19 yet in the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

20 Brothers, be not children in understanding, howbeit in malice be ye children; but in understanding be perfect.

21 ¶ In the law it is written, In other tongues and with other lips I will speak unto this people; and yet for all that, they will not hear me, saith the Lord.

22 Therefore, tongues are for a sign, not to those that believe, but to those that do not believe; but prophecy is not for those that do not believe, but for those who believe.

23 If, therefore, the whole congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} is come together into one place and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that does not believe or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all;

25 for the secrets of his heart are made manifest; and so falling down on his face, he will worship God, declaring that God is indeed in you.

26 ¶ How is it then, brothers? when ye come together, each one of you has a psalm, has doctrine, has tongues, has revelation, has interpretation. Let all things be done unto edification.

27 If anyone speaks in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

28 But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silence in the congregation, {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} and let him speak to himself and to God.

29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the others judge.

30 If any thing is revealed to another that sits by, let the first be silent.

31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be exhorted.

32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

33 For God is not the God of disorder, but of peace, as in all the congregations {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} of the saints.

34 ¶ Let your women keep silence in the congregations, {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be in subjection, as also saith the law.

35 And if they desire to learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home, for it is a dishonest thing for women to speak in the congregation. {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones}

36 ¶ What? Did the word of God come out from you? or did it come unto you only?

37 If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

38 But anyone that ignores them shall be ignored.

39 Therefore, brothers, earnestly pursue prophecy and do not forbid to speak with tongues.

40 But let all things be done decently and in order.
