M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
27 Jotham was twenty-five years old when he began to reign and reigned for sixteen years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jerushah, the daughter of Zadok.
2 And he did uprightly in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Uzziah did, except that he did not enter into the Temple of the LORD, and the people still corrupted their ways.
3 He built the High Gate of the House of the LORD. And he built very much on the wall of the castle.
4 Moreover, he built cities in the mountains of Judah. And he built palaces and towers in the forests.
5 And he fought with the kings of the children of Ammon and prevailed against them. And the same year, the children of Ammon gave him a hundred talents of silver and ten thousand measures of wheat and ten thousand of barley. This the children of Ammon gave him, both in the second year and the third.
6 So, Jotham became mighty because he directed his way before the LORD his God.
7 Concerning the rest of the acts of Jotham and all his wars and his ways, lo, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah.
8 He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem.
9 And Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the City of David. And Ahaz, his son, reigned in his place.
28 Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem, and did not do uprightly in the sight of the LORD, like David his father.
2 But he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and even made molten images for Baalim.
3 Moreover, he burnt incense in the valley of Ben-hinnom, and burnt his sons with fire, after the abominations of the heathen whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.
4 He also sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and on hills, and under every green tree.
5 Therefore, the LORD his God delivered him into the hand of the king of the Aramites. And they struck him and took some of his many prisoners and brought them to Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who struck him with a great slaughter.
6 For Pekah, the son of Remaliah, killed one hundred twenty thousand in Judah in one day, all valiant men, because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers.
7 And Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, killed Maaseiah, the king’s son, and Azrikam, the governor of the House, and Elkanah, the second after the king.
8 And the children of Israel took prisoners of their brethren—two hundred thousand of the women, sons and daughters—and carried away much spoil from them and brought the spoil to Samaria.
9 But there was a Prophet of the LORD whose name Oded. And he went out before the army that came to Samaria, and said to them, “Behold! Because the LORD God of your fathers is angry with Judah, He has delivered them into your hand. And you have killed them in a rage that reaches up to Heaven!
10 “And now you intend to keep the children of Judah and Jerusalem under, as servants and handmaids to you. But are not your sins also with you before the LORD your God?
11 “Now therefore, hear me and bring back the captives whom you have taken prisoners from your brethren. For the fierce wrath of the LORD is toward you.”
12 Therefore, some of the chiefs of the children of Ephraim — Azariah the son of Johanan, Berechiah the son of Meshillemoth, Jehizkiah the son of Shallum and Amasa the son of Hadlai — stood up against those who came from the war,
13 and said to them, “Do not bring the captives in here. For this shall be a sin upon us against the LORD. You intend to add more to our sins and to our trespass, though our trespass is great, as is the fierce wrath of God against Israel.”
14 So, the army left the captives and the spoil before the princes and all the Congregation.
15 And the men who were named by name rose up and took the prisoners, and clothed all who were naked among them with the spoil, and arrayed them, and gave them sandals and food and drink, and anointed them, and carried all of them who were feeble upon donkeys, and brought them to Jericho, the City of Palm Trees, to their brethren. So, they returned to Samaria.
16 At that time, King Ahaz sent to the kings of Assyria for help.
17 For the Edomites had come again and struck Judah and carried away captives.
18 The Philistines also invaded the cities in the low country, and toward the South of Judah, and took Beth Shemesh and Aijalon and Gederoth and Sochoh (with their villages) and Timnah with its villages and Gimzo with its villages. And they dwelt there.
19 For the LORD had humbled Judah because of Ahaz, king of Israel. For he had brought vengeance upon Judah and had grievously transgressed against the LORD.
20 And Tilgath-Pilneser, king of Assyria, came to him, who troubled him and did not strengthen him.
21 For Ahaz took a portion out of the House of the LORD and out of the king’s house and of the princes’ and gave to the king of Assyria. Still, it did not help him.
22 And in the time of his tribulation, he trespassed even more against the LORD (this is King Ahaz).
23 For he sacrificed to the gods of Damascus which plagued him, and he said, “Because the gods of the kings of Aram helped them, I will sacrifice to them. And they will help me.” Yet they were his ruin, and all of Israel.
24 And Ahaz gathered the vessels of the House of God, and broke the vessels of the House of God, and shut up the doors of the House of the LORD and made himself altars in every corner of Jerusalem.
25 And he made high places in every city of Judah, to burn incense to other gods, and the LORD God of his fathers was provoked to anger.
26 Concerning the rest of his acts and all his ways, first and last, behold, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.
27 And Ahaz slept with his fathers. And they buried him in the city of Jerusalem but did not bring him to the sepulchers of the kings of Israel. And Hezekiah, his son, reigned in his place.
14 Then I looked. And lo, a Lamb stood on mount Zion; and with him 144,000, having his Father’s Name written in their foreheads.
2 And I heard a voice from Heaven, as the sound of many waters, and as the sound of a great thunder. And I heard the voice of harpists, harping with their harps.
3 And they sang (as it were) a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts and the elders. And no one could learn that song except the 144,000 who were bought from the Earth.
4 These are those who are not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These are bought from man, being the firstfruits to God and to the Lamb.
5 And in their mouths was found no deceit. For they are without spot before the throne of God.
6 Then I saw another angel fly in the midst of Heaven - having an everlasting Gospel to preach to those who dwell on the Earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people -
7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear God! And give glory to Him! For the hour of His judgment has come! And worship Him who made Heaven and Earth and the sea and the fountains of waters!”
8 And there followed another angel, saying, “Babylon, that great city is fallen! It is fallen! For she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication!”
9 And a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worship the beast and his image - and receives his mark on his forehead, or on his hand -
10 the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God; indeed, of the pure wine which is poured into the cup of His wrath! And he shall be tormented in fire and brimstone before the holy angels, and before the Lamb!
11 “And the smoke of their torment shall ascend evermore! And they shall have no rest, day nor night, who worship the beast and his name!”
12 Here is the patience of saints. Here are those who keep the Commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
13 Then I heard a voice from Heaven, saying to me, “Write: ‘The dead who die in the Lord are fully blessed.’” “Even so,” says the Spirit, “for they rest from their labors and their works still follow them.”
14 And I looked. And there was a white cloud. And upon the cloud, One sitting Who looks like the Son of Man; having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle.
15 And another angel came out of the Temple, crying with a loud voice to Him Who sat on the cloud, “Thrust in your sickle and reap! For the time has come to reap! For the harvest of the Earth is ripe!”
16 And He Who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the Earth. And the Earth was reaped.
17 Then another angel came out of the Temple, which is in Heaven, having also a sharp sickle.
18 And another angel came out from the altar - who had power over fire - and cried with a loud cry to him who had the sharp sickle, and said, “Thrust in your sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vineyard of the Earth! For her grapes are ripe!”
19 And the angel thrust in his sharp sickle on the Earth, and cut down the vines of the vineyard of the Earth and cast them into that great winepress of the wrath of God.
20 And the winepress was trampled outside the City. And blood flowed out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for the space of 1600 furlongs.
10 “Ask for rain from the LORD in the time of the latter rain and the LORD shall make white clouds and give you showers of rain, and grass in the field to everyone.
2 “Surely, the idols have spoken vanity, and the soothsayers have seen a lie, and the dreamers have foretold a vain thing. They comfort in vain. Therefore, they went away as sheep. They were troubled, because there was no shepherd.
3 “My wrath was kindled against the shepherds, and I visited the goats. But the LORD of Hosts will visit His flock, the House of Judah, and will make them like His beautiful horse in the battle.
4 “Out of him shall the corner come forth, out of him the nail, out of him the bow of battle, out of him every oppressor, together.
5 “And they shall be as the mighty men who tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle. And they shall fight because the LORD is with them. And the riders on horses shall be confounded.
6 “And I will strengthen the House of Judah. And I will preserve the House of Joseph. And I will bring them back, for I pity them. And they shall be as though I had not cast them off. For I am the LORD their God and will hear them.
7 “And they of Ephraim shall be as a giant. And their hearts shall rejoice as through wine. Yea, their children shall see it and be glad. Their heart shall rejoice in the LORD!
8 “I will whistle for them and gather them. For I have redeemed them. And they shall increase, as they have increased.
9 “And I will sow them among the people. And they shall remember Me in far countries. And they shall live with their children and turn back.
10 “I will also bring them back out of the land of Egypt and gather them out of Assyria. And I will bring them into the land of Gilead, and Lebanon. And no place shall be found for them.
11 “And he shall go into the sea with affliction and shall strike the waves in the sea. And all the depths of the river shall dry up. And the pride of Assyria shall be cast down. And the scepter of Egypt shall depart away.
12 “And I will strengthen them in the LORD. And they shall walk in His Name,” says the LORD.
13 Now, before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come (that He would depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world) He loved them to the end.
2 And when supper was done (and the devil had now put in the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Him),
3 Jesus - knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come forth from God and went to God -
4 He rose from supper and laid aside His garments and took a towel and wrapped Himself.
5 After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel in which He was wrapped.
6 Then He came to Simon Peter, who said to Him, “Lord, You wash my feet?”
7 Jesus answered and said to him, “What I do, you do not know now. But you shall know it hereafter.”
8 Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you shall have no part with Me.”
9 Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also the hands and the head.”
10 Jesus said to him, “He who is washed needs only to wash his feet, but is wholly clean. And you are clean, but not all.”
11 For He knew who would betray Him. Therefore, He said, “You are not all clean.”
12 So, after He had washed their feet and had taken His garments and had sat down again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?
13 “You call Me Master, and Lord. And you say well. For so I am.
14 “If I, then, your Lord and Master, has washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
15 “For I have given you an example, so that you should do just as I have done to you.
16 “Truly, truly I say to you, the servant is not greater than his master, nor the messenger greater than the one who sent him.
17 “If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.
18 “I do not speak of you all. I know whom I have chosen. But it is so that the Scripture might be fulfilled, ‘He who eats bread with Me has lifted up his heel against Me.’
19 “From now on I tell you before it comes, so that when it has happened, you might believe that I am He.
20 “Truly, truly I say to you, anyone who receives whom I shall send, receives Me. And anyone who receives Me, receives Him Who sent Me.”
21 When Jesus had said these things, He was troubled in Spirit, and testified, and said, “Truly, truly I say to you, that one of you shall betray Me.”
22 Then the disciples looked at one another, uncertain of whom He spoke.
23 Now, there was one of His disciples, who leaned on Jesus’ bosom, whom Jesus loved.
24 Therefore, Simon Peter motioned to him to ask who it was of whom He spoke.
25 Then, as he leaned on Jesus’ breast, he said to Him, “Lord, who is it?”
26 Jesus answered, “It is him to whom I shall give a morsel, when I have dipped it.” And He wet a morsel of bread, and gave it to Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son.
27 And after the morsel, Satan entered into him. Then Jesus said to him, “That you do, do quickly.”
28 But none of them who were at table knew why He said this to him.
29 For some of them thought Jesus had said that to him because Judas had the bag to buy those things we need for the feast, or that he should give something to the poor.
30 Then, as soon as he had received the morsel, he immediately went out. And it was night.
31 When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in Him.
32 “If God is glorified in Him, God shall also glorify Him in Himself, and shall immediately glorify Him.
33 “Little children, I am still with you a little while longer. You shall seek Me, but as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I go, you cannot come’, so also I say to you now.
34 “A new Commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another.
35 “By this shall all know that you are My disciples - if you have love one to another.”
36 Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, where are You going?” Jesus answered him, “Where I go you cannot follow Me now. But you shall follow Me afterward.”
37 Peter said to Him, “Lord, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down My life for your sake!”
38 Jesus answered him, “Will you lay down your life for My sake? Truly, truly I say to you, the cock shall not crow till you have denied Me three times.”
