M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
7 And when Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from Heaven and consumed the Burnt Offering and the Sacrifices. And the Glory of the LORD filled the House,
2 so that the priests could not enter into the House of the LORD because the Glory of the LORD had filled the LORD’s House.
3 And when all the children of Israel saw the fire, and the Glory of the LORD come down upon the House, they bowed themselves with their faces to the earth, upon the pavement, and worshipped and praised the LORD, saying, “For He is good, because His mercy endures forever!”
4 Then the king and all the people offered Sacrifices before the LORD.
5 And King Solomon offered a Sacrifice of twenty-two thousand oxen and one hundred twenty thousand sheep. So, the king and all the people dedicated the House of God.
6 And the Priests waited on their offices, and the Levites, with the instruments of music of the LORD which King David had made to “praise the LORD, because His mercy endures forever”. When David praised with them, the priests also blew trumpets opposite them. And all those of Israel stood by.
7 Moreover, Solomon sanctified the middle of the court that was in front of the House of the LORD. For he had prepared Burnt Offerings there, and the fat of the Peace Offerings, because the bronze Altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the Burnt Offering and the Meat Offering and the fat.
8 And Solomon made a seven-day Feast at that time, and all Israel with him, a very great Congregation, from the entrance of Hamath to the River of Egypt.
9 And on the eighth day, they had a solemn assembly. For they had made the dedication of the Altar for seven days, and the Feast for seven days.
10 And the twenty-third day of the seventh month, he sent the people away into their tents, joyous and with glad hearts, because of the goodness that the LORD had done for David and for Solomon and for Israel, His people.
11 So, Solomon finished the House of the LORD, and the king’s house, and all that came into Solomon’s heart to make in the House of the LORD. And he prospered in his house.
12 And the LORD appeared to Solomon at night, and said to him, “I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself, to be a House of Sacrifice.
13 “If I shut the heaven, so that there is no rain, or if I command the grasshopper to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people—
14 “if my people among whom My Name is called upon will humble themselves and pray and seek My presence and turn from their wicked ways—then will I hear in Heaven and be merciful to their sin and will heal their land.
15 “Then My Eyes shall be open and My Ears attentive to the prayers in this place.
16 “For I have now chosen and sanctified this House, so that My Name may be there forever. And My Eyes and My Heart shall be there perpetually.
17 “And if you will walk before me, as David your father walked, to do according to all that I have Commanded you, and shall observe My Statutes and My Judgments,
18 “then will I establish the throne of your kingdom, just as I made the Covenant with David your father, saying, ‘You shall not lack a man to be ruler in Israel.’
19 “But if you turn away, and forsake My Statutes and My Commandments which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them,
20 “then will I pluck them up out of My land which I have given them. And I will cast this House which I have sanctified for My Name out of My sight and will make it a proverb and common talk among all people.
21 “And this House which is Most High shall be an astonishment to everyone who passes by it, so that he shall say, ‘Why has the LORD done this to this land, and to this House?’
22 “And they shall answer, ‘Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, Who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold of other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them. Therefore, He has brought all this misery upon them.”
1 The elder, To the elect Lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not only me but also all who have known the truth
2 for the truth’s sake, which dwells in us and shall be with us forever:
3 Grace be with you, mercy and peace, from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, with truth and love.
4 I rejoiced greatly that I found some of your children walking in truth, as per the Commandment we have received from the Father.
5 And now I encourage you, Lady, (not as writing a new Commandment to you, but the same which we had from the beginning) that we love one another.
6 And this is the love that we should walk in: His Commandments. This is the Commandment. As you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.
7 For many deceivers have entered into this world, who do not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. Such a one is a deceiver and an Antichrist.
8 Watch yourselves, so that we do not lose the things which we have done. But that we may receive a full reward.
9 Whoever transgresses, and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ, does not have God. The one who continues in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.
10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, neither greet him nor receive him into your house.
11 For the one who greets him shares in his evil deeds. Although I had many things to write to you, I would rather not write with paper and ink. But I trust to come to you and speak mouth to mouth, so that our joy may be full.
12 The sons of your elect Sister greet you. Amen.
2 I will stand upon my watch and set myself upon the tower, and will look and see what He would say to me, and what I shall answer to Him Who rebukes me.
2 And the LORD answered me, and said, “Write the vision, and make it plain upon tablets, so that he who reads it may run.
3 “For the vision is yet for an appointed time. But in the end, it shall speak and not lie. Though it tarries, wait. For it shall surely come and shall not delay.
4 “Behold, he who lifts himself up, his mind is not upright in him. But the just shall live by his faith.
5 “Yea, indeed the proud man is as he who transgresses by wine. Therefore, he shall not endure because he has enlarged his desire as Hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathers all nations to himself, and heaps all people for himself.
6 “Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, ‘Woe to him who increases that which is not his—How long? —and to him who loads himself with heavy debt!
7 “Shall not those who bite you rise up suddenly, and those who stir you awaken, and make you their prey?
8 “Because you have plundered many nations, all the remnant of the people shall plunder you, because of men’s blood, and for the wrong done in the land, in the city, and to all who dwell therein.
9 “Woe to him who covets an evil gain for his House, so that he may set his nest on high to escape from the power of evil!
10 “You have consulted shame to your own House by destroying many people and have sinned against your own soul.
11 “For the stone shall cry out of the wall. And out of the timber shall the beam answer it.
12 “Woe to him who builds a town with blood and erects a city by iniquity.
13 “Behold, is it not of the LORD of Hosts that the people shall labor in the very fire? The people shall weary themselves for frivolity.
14 “For the Earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
15 “Woe to him who gives his neighbor drink and mixes it with your own skin to make him drunk, so that you may see their nakedness.
16 “You are filled with shame for glory. You drink also and are uncovered! The cup of the LORD’s right Hand shall be turned to you, and shameful spewing, for your glory.
17 “For the cruelty of Lebanon shall cover you, as shall the plunder of the beasts which made them afraid because of men’s blood, and for the wrong done in the land, in the city, and to all who dwell in them.
18 “What profit is the image? For the maker has made it an image, and a teacher of lies. Though, he who made it trusts in it when he makes dumb idols.
19 “Woe to him who says to the wood, ‘Awake,’ and to the dumb stone, ‘Rise up! It shall teach you! Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver. And there is no breath in it.
20 “But the LORD is in His Holy Temple. Let all the Earth keep silence before Him.”
21 And as He looked, He saw the rich, who cast their gifts into the treasury.
2 And He also saw a certain poor widow, who cast in two lepta.
3 And He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has cast in more than all of them.
4 “For they have all cast into the offerings of God out of their excess. But she, out of her poverty, has cast in all her livelihood.”
5 Now as some spoke of the Temple (how it was decorated with beautiful stones and consecrated things), He said,
6 “Are these the things that you look upon? The days will come when a stone shall not be left upon a stone; that it shall not be thrown down.”
7 Then they asked Him, saying, “Master, but when shall these things be? And what sign shall there be when these things shall happen?”
8 And He said, “Watch carefully, so that you are not deceived. For many will come in My Name, saying, ‘I am Christ,’ and ‘The time draws near.’ Therefore, do not follow them.
9 “And when you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be afraid. For these things must come first. But the end will not follow right away.”
10 Then He said to them, “Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
11 “And great earthquakes shall occur in diverse places. And hunger and pestilence and fearful things and great signs from Heaven shall happen.
12 “But before all these things, they shall lay their hands on you and persecute you - delivering you up to the assemblies and into prisons - and bring you before kings and rulers, for My Name’s sake.
13 “And this shall result in a testimonial for you.
14 “Therefore, resolve in your hearts not to prepare what you shall answer beforehand.
15 “For I will give you a mouth, and wisdom, against which all your adversaries shall not be able to speak or resist.
16 “Indeed, you shall also be betrayed by your parents and by your brothers, and kinsmen, and friends. And they shall put you to death.
17 “And you shall be hated by all, for My Name’s sake.
18 “Yet, not one hair of your heads shall perish.
19 “By your patience, gain your souls.
20 “And when you see Jerusalem besieged by soldiers, then understand that its desolation is near.
21 “Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. And let those who are in the city depart. And do not let those who are in the country enter.
22 “For these are the days of vengeance, to fulfill all things that are written.
23 “But woe to those who are with child, and to those who nurse, in those days. For there shall be great distress in this land, and wrath over this people.
24 “And they shall fall on the edge of the sword and shall be led as captives into all nations. And Jerusalem shall be trampled under the feet of the Gentiles, until the time of the Gentiles is fulfilled.
25 “Then there shall be signs in the Sun, and in the Moon, and in the stars, and trouble upon the Earth among the nations, with confusion. The sea and the waters shall roar.
26 “And men’s hearts shall fail them for fear and for looking after those things which shall come upon the world. For the powers of Heaven shall be shaken.
27 “And then shall they see the Son of Man come in a cloud, with power and great Glory.
28 “And when these things begin to happen, then look up and lift up your heads! For your redemption draws near!”
29 And He spoke to them a parable, “Look at the fig tree, and all trees,
30 “as they now spring forth. When you see them, you know that summer is now near.
31 “So likewise, when you see these things happen, you know that the Kingdom of God is near.
32 “Truly I say to you this age shall not pass until all things are done.
33 “Heaven and Earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away.
34 “Pay attention to yourselves, so that your hearts are never oppressed with excess and drunkenness and cares of this life. And so that the Day does not take you by surprise.
35 “For it shall come as a trap upon all those who dwell on the face of the whole Earth.
36 “Watch, therefore, and pray continually. So that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that shall happen. And so that you may stand before the Son of Man.”
37 Now in the daytime, He taught in the Temple. And at night, He went out and stayed on the mount that is called the Mount of Olives.
38 And in the morning, all the people came to hear Him in the Temple.
