M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
1 Then Solomon, the son of David, was confirmed in his kingdom. And the LORD his God was with him and magnified him highly.
2 And Solomon spoke to all Israel —to the captains of thousands, and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to all the governors in all Israel —the chief fathers.
3 So Solomon, and all the Congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon. For the Tabernacle of the Congregation of God was there, which Moses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness.
4 But David had brought up the Ark of God from Kirjath Jearim, when David had made preparation for it. For he had pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem.
5 Moreover, the bronze Altar that Bezalel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur had made, he set in front of the Tabernacle of the LORD. And Solomon and the Congregation sought it.
6 And Solomon offered there before the LORD, upon the bronze Altar that was in the Tabernacle of the Congregation. He offered a thousand Burnt Offerings upon it.
7 That same night, God appeared to Solomon, and said to him, “Ask what I shall give you.”
8 And Solomon said to God, “You have shown great mercy to David, my father, and have made me king in his place.
9 “Now, O LORD God, let Your promise to David my father be true. For You have made me king over a great people, like the dust of the Earth.
10 “Give me wisdom and knowledge now, so that I may go out and go in before this people. For who can judge this, Your great people?”
11 And God said to Solomon, “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked for riches or treasures or honor or for the lives of your enemies, nor have you asked for long life, but have asked for wisdom and knowledge for yourself, so that you might judge My people, over whom I have made you king,
12 “wisdom and knowledge is granted to you. And I will also give you riches and treasures and honor, so that there has not been any like you among the kings who were before you. Nor shall there be any like you after.”
13 Then Solomon came from the high place that was at Gibeon, to Jerusalem, from before the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and reigned over Israel.
14 And Solomon gathered the chariots and horsemen. And he had one thousand four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he placed in the chariot cities and with the king at Jerusalem.
15 And the king gave gold and silver at Jerusalem as stone, and gave cedar trees as the wild fig trees, that are abundant in the plain.
16 Also, Solomon had horses and fine linen brought out of Egypt. The king’s merchants received the fine linen for a price.
17 They also came up and brought an Egyptian chariot worth six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred fifty. And thus, by their means, they brought horses for all the kings of the Hittites and for the kings of Aram.
1 That Which was from the beginning, Which we have heard, Which we have seen with our eyes, Which we have looked upon and these hands of ours have handled concerning the Word of Life
2 (for that Life was revealed, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show to you that eternal Life Who was with the Father and was revealed to us);
3 that Which we have seen and heard we declare to you, so that you may also have fellowship with us and that our fellowship may also be with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.
4 And these things I write to you so that your joy may be full.
5 This, then, is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you: that God is light. And no darkness is in Him.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not truly.
7 But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another. And the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, cleanses us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves. And truth is not in us.
9 If we acknowledge our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say, “We have not sinned,” we make Him a liar. And His Word is not in us.
7 Woe is me, for I am as the summer gatherings, as the grapes of the vintage. There is no cluster to eat. My soul desired the first ripe fruits.
2 The good man has perished from the Earth, and there is no one righteous among men. They all lie in wait for blood. Every man hunts his brother with a net.
3 To make good for the evil of both their hands, the prince asks and the judge judges for a reward. And the great man speaks out the corruption of his soul. So they weave it together.
4 The best of them is as a brier. And the most righteous of them is sharper than a thorn-hedge. The day of your watchmen and your visitation comes. Then shall be their confusion.
5 Do not trust in a friend, or put confidence in a counselor. Keep the doors of your mouth from she who lies in your bosom.
6 For the son reviles the father. The daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. A man’s enemies are the men of his own house.
7 Therefore, I will look to the LORD. I will wait for God my Savior. My God will hear me.
8 Do not rejoice against me, O my enemy! Though I fall, I shall rise. When I shall sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light to me.
9 I will bear the wrath of the LORD, because I have sinned against Him, until He pleads my case and executes judgment for me. He will bring me forth to the light. And I shall see His righteousness.
10 Then she who is my enemy shall look upon it. And shame shall cover her who said to me, “Where is the LORD your God?” My eyes shall behold her. Now she shall be trampled down as the mire of the streets.
11 This is the day that your walls shall be built. This day shall drive the decree far away.
12 Also at this time they shall come to you from Assyria and the strong cities, and from the strongholds to the river, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain.
13 Nevertheless, the land shall be desolate because of those who dwell in it, for the fruits of their inventions.
14 Feed Your people with Your rod, the flock of Your heritage (who dwell solitarily in the forest) in the midst of Carmel. Let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in days of old.
15 “According to the days of your coming out of the land of Egypt, I will show to him marvelous things.”
16 The nations shall see and be confounded for all their power. They shall lay their hand upon their mouth. Their ears shall be deaf.
17 They shall lick the dust like a serpent. They shall move out of their holes like worms. They shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of You.
18 Who is a God like You, Who takes away iniquity and passes over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage! He does not retain His wrath forever, because mercy pleases Him.
19 He will turn again and have compassion upon us. He will subdue our iniquities and cast all their sins into the bottom of the sea.
20 You will perform truth to Jacob, mercy to Abraham, as You have sworn to our fathers in days of old.
16 And He also said to His disciples, “There was a certain rich man who had a steward. And he was accused to him of wasting his goods.
2 “And he called him and said to him, ‘How is it that I hear this of you? Give an account of your stewardship. For you may no longer be steward.’
3 “Then the steward said within himself, ‘What shall I do? For my master is taking away the stewardship from me. I cannot dig. And I am ashamed to beg.
4 ‘I know what I will do, so that when I am put out of the stewardship they may receive me into their houses.’
5 “Then he called every one of his master’s debtors to him, and said to the first, ‘How much do you owe to my master?’
6 “And he said, ‘A hundred measures of oil.’ And he said to him, ‘Take your bill. And sit down quickly. And write fifty.’
7 “Then he said to another, ‘How much do you owe?’ And he said, ‘A hundred measures of wheat.’ Then he said to him, ‘Take your bill and write eighty.’
8 “And the master commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely. For among their own kind, the children of this world are wiser than the children of light.
9 “And I say to you, make friends with the riches of iniquity, so that when you fail, they may receive you into eternal dwellings.
10 “The one who is faithful in the least, is also faithful in much. And the one who is unjust in the least, is unjust also in much.
11 “If, then, you have not been faithful in the riches of iniquity, who will trust you in the true treasure?
12 “And if you have not been faithful in another man’s goods, who shall give you that which is yours?
13 “No servant can serve two masters. For either he shall hate the one and love the other, or else he shall lean to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and riches.”
14 The Pharisees also heard all these things and were covetous. And they scoffed at Him.
15 Then He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before man. But God knows your hearts. For that which is highly esteemed among man is abomination in the sight of God.
16 “The Law and the Prophets endured until John. And since that time the Kingdom of God is preached. And everyone presses into it.
17 “Now it is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for one stroke of the Law to fall.
18 “Whoever puts away his wife and marries another, commits adultery. And whoever marries the one who is put away from her husband, commits adultery.
19 “There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared well and delicately every day.
20 “Also, there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, who was laid at his gate (full of sores).
21 “And he desired to be refreshed with the crumbs that fell from the rich man’s table. And even the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 “And it happened that the beggar died and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried.
23 “And being in torment in Hell, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off (and Lazarus in his bosom).
24 “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me! And send Lazarus, so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue! For I am tormented in this flame!’
25 “But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that you, in your lifetime, received your pleasures, and likewise Lazarus pains. Therefore, now he is comforted and you are tormented.
26 ‘Besides all this, there is a great gulf set between you and us, so that those who wish to go from here to you, cannot. Nor can anyone come from there to us.’
27 “Then he said, ‘Therefore I ask you, father, if you would send him to my father’s house,
28 ‘(for I have five brothers) so that he may testify to them, lest they also come into this place of torment.’
29 “Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets. Let them hear them.’
30 “And he said, ‘No, father Abraham. But if one came to them from the dead, they will repent.’
31 “Then he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded if one rises from the dead again.’”
