4 And one of the wives of the sons of the Prophets cried to Elisha, saying, “Your servant, my husband, is dead! And you know that your servant feared the LORD! And the creditor has come to take my two sons to be his bondmen.”
2 Then Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have at home?” And she said, “Your handmaid has nothing at home, except a pitcher of oil.”
3 And he said, “Go around and borrow vessels from all your neighbors, empty vessels, and not just a few.
4 “And when you have come in, you shall shut the door upon yourself and upon your sons, and pour out into all those vessels, and set aside those that are full.”
5 So she departed from him and shut the door upon herself and upon her sons. And they brought to her, and she poured out.
6 And when the vessels were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There are no more vessels.” And the oil ceased.
7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go. Sell the oil and pay those to whom you are in debt, and you and your children live off the rest.”
8 And it happened at that time that Elisha came to Shunem. And while there, an older woman persuaded him to eat food. And whenever he passed by, he would turn in there to eat food.
9 And she said to her husband, “Behold, I know now that this is a holy man of God who continually passes by us.
10 “Please, let us make him a little chamber, with walls. And let us set him up a bed there, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick, so that he may turn in there when he comes to us.”
11 And one day, he came there, and turned into the chamber, and lay in it,
12 and said to Gehazi, his servant, “Call this Shunammite.” And when he called her, she stood before him.
13 Then he said to him, “Say to her now, ‘Behold, you have had all this great care for us. What shall we do for you? Is there anything to be spoken to the king for you, or to the captain of the army?” And she answered, “I dwell among my own people.”
14 Again he said, “What is then to be done for her?” Then Gehazi answered, “Indeed, she has no son, and her husband is old.
15 Then he said, “Call her.” And he called her, and she stood in the door.
16 And he said, “At this time next year, according to the time of life, you shall embrace a son.” And she said, “Oh my Lord, you man of God, do not lie to your handmaid.”
17 So the woman conceived, and bore a son, in that same season, according to the time of life that Elisha had said to her.
18 And when the child was grown, it happened one day that he went out to his father, to the reapers.
19 And he said to his father, “My head, my head!” Who said to his servant, “Take him to his mother.”
20 And he took him and brought him to his mother. And he sat on her knees until noon and died.
21 Then she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God and shut the door upon him and went out.
22 Then she called to her husband, and said, “Please send one of the young men and one of the donkeys with me, for I will hurry to the man of God, and come back.”
23 And he said, “Why would you go to him today? It is neither new moon nor Sabbath day.” And she answered, “All shall be well.”
24 Then she saddled a donkey, and said to her servant, “Drive and go forward. Do not slow down the pace for me unless I tell you.”
25 So, she went and came to the man of God, to Mount Carmel. And when the man of God saw her from a distance, he said to Gehazi, his servant, “Behold, the Shunammite.
26 “Run now, I say, to meet her, and say to her, ‘Are you well? Is your husband well? Is the child well?’” And she answered, “We are well.”
27 And when she came to the man of God, to the mountain, she caught him by his feet. And Gehazi went to her, to thrust her away. But the man of God said, “Let her alone! For her soul is troubled within her, and the LORD has hidden it from me, and has not told me.”
28 Then she said, “Did I desire a son of my lord? Did I not say, ‘Do not deceive me?’”
29 Then he said to Gehazi, “Gird your loins and take my staff in your hand and go your way. If you meet anyone, do not greet him. And if anyone greets you, do not answer him. And lay my staff upon the face of the child.”
30 And the mother of the child said, “As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” Therefore, he arose and followed her.
31 But Gehazi had gone before them and had laid the staff upon the face of the child. But he neither spoke nor heard. Therefore, he returned to meet him and told him, saying, “The child is not awake.”
32 Then Elisha came into the house. And behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed.
33 Therefore, he went in and shut the door upon the two of them and prayed to the LORD.
34 Afterward, he went up and lay upon the child and put his mouth on his mouth and his eyes upon his eyes and his hands upon his hands and stretched himself upon him. And the flesh of the child grew warm.
35 And he went and walked up and down in the house and went up and spread himself upon him. Then, the child sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.
36 Then he called Gehazi, and said, “Call this Shunammite.” So, he called her, who came in to him. And he said to her, “Take your son.”
37 And she came and fell at his feet and bowed herself to the ground and took up her son and went out.
38 Afterward, Elisha returned to Gilgal. And a famine was in the land. And the children of the Prophets dwelt with him. And he said to his servant, “Set on the great pot and boil stew for the children of the Prophets.”
39 And one went out into the field to gather herbs and found, as it were, a wild vine and gathered wild gourds from it. His garment full, he came and shredded them into the pot of stew, for they did not know them.
40 So, they poured it out for the men to eat. And when they ate the stew, they cried out, and said, “O you man of God! Death is in the pot!” And they could not eat.
41 Then he said, “Bring flour.” And he cast it into the pot, and said, “Pour it out for the people, so that they may eat.” And there was no harm in the pot.
42 Then a man came from Baal Shalisha and brought the man of God food from the firstfruits: twenty loaves of barley and full ears of corn in the husk. And he said, “Give it to the people, so that they may eat.”
43 And his servant answered, “How should I set this before a hundred men?” He said again, “Give it to the people, so that they may eat. For thus says the LORD: ‘They shall eat, and some shall be left over.’”
44 So, he set it before them, and they ate. And some was left over, according to the Word of the LORD.

2 To Timothy, my natural son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father, and from Christ Jesus our Lord.
3 As I urged you when I departed into Macedonia, remain in Ephesus so that you may charge some to teach no other doctrine,
4 or to consider fables and endless genealogies (which breed questions rather than godly edifying, which is by faith).
5 For the purpose of the charge is love out of a pure heart and a good conscience, and faith without hypocrisy.
6 Some have erred from such things and have turned to mindless twaddle.
7 They wish to be teachers of the Law and yet do not understand what they say or the things they affirm.
8 And we know that the Law is good if one uses it lawfully,
9 knowing this: that the Law is not given for the righteous, but for the lawless and disobedient; for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for killers of fathers and mothers, for murderers,
10 for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and anything else contrary to wholesome doctrine,
11 according to the glorious Gospel of the blessed God which was entrusted to me.
12 Therefore, I thank Him Who has made me strong - Christ Jesus our Lord. For He counted me faithful and put me in His service
13 when I had previously been a blasphemer and a persecutor and an oppressor. But I was received to mercy. For I did it ignorantly, through unbelief.
14 But the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love, which is in Christ Jesus.
15 This is a true saying and by all means worthy to be received: that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Of whom I am chief.
16 But, I was received to mercy for this reason: so that Jesus Christ should first show all long suffering on me, as an example to those who shall (in time) come to believe in Him unto eternal life.
17 Now, to the King everlasting, immortal, invisible; to God (Who alone is wise) be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
18 This commandment I commit to you, son Timothy, according to previous prophecies concerning you, so that by them you should fight a good fight,
19 having faith and a good conscience (which some have put away and, as far as faith, have made shipwreck -
20 of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander - whom I have delivered to Satan so that they might learn not to blaspheme).
8 In the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar, a vision appeared to me, even to me Daniel, after that which appeared to me at first.
2 And I saw in a vision. And when I saw it, I was in the palace of Shushan, which is in the province of Elam. And in the vision, I thought I was by the river of Ulai.
3 Then I looked up, and saw. And behold, there stood before the river, a ram, which had two horns. And these two horns were high. But one was higher than the other. And the higher came up last.
4 I saw the ram pushing against the West, and against the North, and against the South; so that no beasts might stand before him, nor could deliver out of his hand. But he did as he pleased, and became great.
5 And as I considered, behold, a goat came from the West, over the whole earth, and did not touch the ground. And this goat had a horn that appeared between his eyes.
6 And he came to the ram that had the two horns, which I had seen standing by the river, and ran to him in his fierce rage.
7 And I saw him come to the ram. And being angry with him, he struck the ram, and broke his two horns. And there was no power in the ram to stand against him. But he cast him down to the ground, and stomped on him. And there was no one who could deliver the ram out of his power.
8 Therefore, the goat grew exceedingly great. And when he was at his strongest, his great horn was broken. And four, who appeared toward the four winds of the heaven, came up for it.
9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which grew very great toward the South, and toward the East, and toward the beautiful land.
10 Yea, it grew up to the host of heaven. And it cast down some of the host, and some of the stars to the ground, and tread upon them;
11 And extolled himself against the prince of the host, from whom the daily sacrifice was taken away. And the place of his Sanctuary was cast down.
12 And a time shall be given to him over the daily sacrifice for the iniquity. And it shall cast down the truth to the ground. And thus shall it do, and prosper.
13 Then I heard one of the Saints speaking. And one of the Saints spoke to a certain one, saying, “How long shall the vision of the daily sacrifice endure, and the iniquity of the desolation tread underfoot both the Sanctuary and the army?”
14 And he answered me, “Until the evening and the morning have passed two thousand three hundred times. Then shall the Sanctuary be cleansed.”
15 Now, when I, Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, behold, there stood before me one having the appearance of a man.
16 And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of Ulai, who called, and said, “Gabriel, make this man understand the vision.”
17 So he came where I stood. And when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face. But he said to me, “Understand, O son of man. For in the last time, shall be the vision.”
18 Now as he was speaking to me, I ,being asleep, had my face to the ground. But he touched me, and set me up in my place.
19 And he said, “Behold, I will show you what shall be in the last wrath. For at the end of the time appointed, it shall come.
20 “The ram, which you saw, having two horns, are the kings of the Medes and Persians.
21 “And the goat is the king of Greece. And the great horn that is between his eyes, is the first king.
22 “And that which was broken, and for which four stood up, are four kingdoms of that nation which shall stand up, but not in his strength.
23 “And in the end of their kingdom, when the rebellious shall be consumed, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.
24 “And his power shall be mighty, but not in his strength. And he shall destroy wonderfully; and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
25 “And also by his influence, he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand. And he shall exalt himself in his heart. And by peace, he shall destroy many. He shall also stand up against the prince of princes, but he shall be broken down without hand.
26 “And the vision of the evening and the morning, which is declared, is true. Therefore, seal up the vision, for it shall happen after many days.”
27 And I, Daniel, was stricken and sick for some days. But when I rose up, I did the king’s business. And I was astonished at the vision. But no one understood it.
116 I love the LORD, because He has heard my voice and my prayers.
2 For He has inclined His ear to me, when I called in my days.
3 The snares of death surrounded me and the griefs of the grave caught me. I found trouble and sorrow.
4 Then I called upon the Name of the LORD, “I implore You, O LORD, deliver my soul!”
5 The LORD is merciful and righteous; and our God is full of compassion.
6 The LORD preserves the simple. I was in misery and He saved me.
7 Return to your rest, O my soul; for the LORD has been beneficial to you.
8 For You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.
9 I shall walk before the LORD in the land of the living.
10 I believed. Therefore, I spoke. I was very troubled.
11 I said in my fear, “All men are liars.”
12 What shall I render to the LORD for all His benefits toward me?
13 I will take the Cup of Salvation and call upon the Name of the LORD.
14 I will pay my vows to the LORD even now, in the presence of all His people.
15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.
16 Behold, LORD, for I am Your servant. I am Your servant, the son of Your handmaid. You have broken my bonds.
17 I will offer a sacrifice of praise to You and will call upon the Name of the LORD.
18 I will pay my vows to the LORD even now, in the presence of all His people,
19 In the courts of the LORD’s house, even in the midst of You, O Jerusalem. Praise the LORD!
