Version
1 Kings 6

And in the four hundred eightieth year (after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt), in the fourth year of the reign of Solomon over Israel, in the month Ziv (which is the second month), he built the House of the LORD.

And the House which King Solomon built for the LORD was sixty cubits long, twenty wide, and thirty cubits high.

And the porch in front of the Temple of the House was twenty cubits long, according to the width of the House, and ten cubits wide in front of the House.

And he made windows in the House, wide and narrow.

And he made galleries by the wall of the House, all around, by the walls of the House all around the Temple and the oracle and made chambers all around.

And the lowest gallery was five cubits wide, and the middle six cubits wide, and the third seven cubits wide; for he made rests all around the outside of the House, so that the beams would not be fastened in the walls of the House.

And when the House was built, it was built of stone finished before it was brought, so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the House while it was being built.

The door of the middle chamber was on the right side of the House. And men went up, with winding stairs, into the middle and out of the middle, into the third.

So he built the House and finished it and ceiled the House, being vaulted with a ceiling of cedar trees.

10 And he built the galleries upon all the House of five cubits in height. And they were joined to the House with beams of cedar.

11 And the Word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying:

12 “Concerning this House which you build, if you will walk in My Ordinances and execute My Judgments and keep all My Commandments, to walk in them, then will I perform My promise to you which I promised to David, your father.

13 “And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake My people, Israel.”

14 So Solomon built the House and finished it,

15 and built the inside walls of the House with boards of cedar, from the pavement of the House to the walls of the ceiling. And he covered them inside with wood and covered the floor of the House with planks of fir.

16 And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the House with boards of cedar, from the floor to the walls. And he prepared a place within it for the oracle, the Most Holy Place.

17 But the House, that is, the Temple before it, was forty cubits.

18 And the cedar inside the House was carved with gourds, and engraved with flowers, all cedar. No stone was seen.

19 Also, he prepared the place of the oracle inside, in the midst of the House, to set the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD there.

20 And the place of the oracle inside was twenty cubits long and twenty cubits wide and twenty cubits high. And he covered it with pure gold and covered the Altar with cedar.

21 So, Solomon covered the House inside with pure gold. And he shut the place of the oracle with chains of gold and covered it with gold.

22 And he overlaid all the House with gold, until all the House was made perfect. Also, he covered the whole Altar that was before the oracle with gold.

23 And inside the oracle he made two Cherubim of olive, ten cubits high.

24 Also, the wing of one Cherub was five cubits. And the wing of the other Cherub was five cubits. From the outermost part of one of his wings to the outermost part of the other of his wings, was ten cubits.

25 Also, the other Cherub was ten cubits. Both the Cherubim were of the same measure and size.

26 The height of one Cherub was ten cubits and so was the other Cherub.

27 And he put the Cherubim inside the inner House. And the Cherubim stretched out their wings, so that the wing of one touched one wall and the wing of the other Cherub touched the other wall. And their other wings touched one another in the midst of the House.

28 And he overlaid the Cherubim with gold.

29 And he carved all the walls of the House, all around, with engraved figures of Cherubim and of palm trees and engraved flowers, inside and outside.

30 And he covered the floor of the House with gold, inside and outside.

31 And in the entrance to the oracle he made two doors of olive. The upper post and side posts were five square.

32 The two doors were also of olive. And he engraved them with engravings of Cherubim and palm trees and engraved flowers and covered them with gold and laid thin gold upon the Cherubim and upon the palm trees.

33 And so he made foursquare posts of olive for the door of the Temple.

34 But the two doors were of fir. The two sides of one door were round, and the two sides of the other door were round.

35 And he engraved Cherubim and palm trees and carved flowers, and covered the carved work with finely-worked gold.

36 And he built the court inside with three rows of hewn stone, and one row of beams of cedar.

37 In the fourth year, the foundation of the House of the LORD was laid, in the month of Ziv.

38 And in the eleventh year, in the month of Bul (which is the eighth month), he finished the House, with all its furniture, and in every point. So, he was seven years in building it.

Ephesians 3

For this reason, I, Paul, am the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles.

If indeed you have heard of the stewardship of the grace of God, which is given to me toward you.

So that God, by revelation, has shown this mystery to me (as I briefly wrote before;

by which, when you read it, you may know my understanding of the mystery of Christ,

which was not made known to the sons of men in other ages as it is now revealed to His holy Apostles and Prophets by the Spirit),

So that the Gentiles should also be inheritors of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ, by the Gospel;

whereof I am made a minister by the gift of the grace of God (given to me through the working of His power).

To me, the least of all saints, is this grace given, so that I would preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

and make clear to all what the stewardship of the mystery is (which from the beginning of the world has been hid in God, Who has created all things by Jesus Christ);

10 to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to principalities and powers in Heavenly realms,

11 according to the eternal purpose which He made in Christ Jesus our Lord;

12 By Him we have boldness and confident access, through faith in Him.

13 Therefore, I desire that you do not grow weary of my tribulations for you (which is your glory).

14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

15 (from Whom is named every family in Heaven and on Earth)

16 so that He might grant - according to the riches of His Glory - that you be strengthened by His Spirit in the inner man;

17 So that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith;

18 so that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend (with all saints) what is the breadth and length and depth and height;

19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge. So that you may be filled with all fullness of God.

20 Now therefore, to the One Who is able to do all things exceedingly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us;

21 to Him be praise in the church and in Christ Jesus, throughout all generations, forever. Amen.

Ezekiel 36

36 “Also, you son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel, and say, ‘You mountains of Israel! Hear the Word of the LORD!

‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Because the enemy has said against you, ‘Aha! Even the high places of the world are ours in possession!’

“Therefore prophesy and say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Because they have made you desolate and swallowed you up on every side, so that you might be a possession for the rest of the heathen; and you have come to the lips and tongues and to the reproach of the people,”

‘therefore, you mountains of Israel, hear the Word of the Lord GOD. Thus says the Lord GOD — to the mountains and to the hills, to the rivers and to the valleys and to the waste, desolate places and to the cities that are forsaken, which have been plundered and had in derision by the rest of the heathen who are all around—

“therefore, thus says the Lord GOD: “Surely, in the fire of My indignation, I have spoken against the rest of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which has taken My land for their possession—with the joy of all heart and with spiteful minds—to cast it out for a prey.

“Prophesy, therefore, upon the land of Israel, and say to the mountains and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, I have spoken in My indignation and in My wrath. Because you have suffered the shame of the heathen,

“therefore thus says the Lord GOD: I have lifted up My Hand; surely the heathen who are around you shall bear their shame.

“But you, O mountains of Israel, you shall shoot forth your branches and bring forth your fruit to My people of Israel; for they are ready to come.

“For behold, I come to you; and I will turn to you; and you shall be tilled and sown.

10 “And I will multiply the men upon you, all the House of Israel wholly. And the cities shall be inhabited; and the desolate places shall be built.

11 “And I will multiply man and beast upon you. And they shall increase and bring fruit. And I will cause you to dwell as you once did; and I will bestow benefits upon you more than at first. And you shall know that I am the LORD.

12 “Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, My people Israel, and they shall possess you; and you shall be their inheritance; and you shall henceforth no longer deprive them.”

13 ‘Thus says the LORD: “Because they say to you, ‘You devour men and have wasted your people,’

14 “therefore you shall no longer devour men or henceforth waste your people,” says the Lord GOD.’

15 “Nor will I allow men to hear the shaming of the heathen anymore. Nor shall you bear the reproach of the people anymore. Nor shall you cause your people to fall anymore,” says the Lord GOD.’”

16 Moreover, the Word of the LORD came to me, saying:

17 “Son of man, when the House of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own ways, and by their deeds. Their way was before Me as the filthiness of the menstruous.

18 “Therefore I poured My wrath upon them, for the blood that they had shed in the land, and for their idols. They had polluted it.

19 “And I scattered them among the heathen; and they were dispersed throughout the countries. According to their ways, and according to their deeds, I judged them.

20 “And when they came to the heathen, wherever they went, they polluted My Holy Name when they said of them, ‘These are the people of the LORD, and have gone out of His land.’

21 “But I favored My Holy Name, which the House of Israel had polluted among the heathen, wherever they went.

22 “Therefore say to the House of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “I do not do this for your sakes, O House of Israel, but for My Holy Name’s sake, which you polluted among the heathen, wherever you went.

23 “And I will sanctify My great Name, which was polluted among the heathen, among whom you have polluted it. And the heathen shall know that I am the LORD,” says the Lord GOD, “when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

24 “For I will take you from among the heathen and gather you out of all countries and will bring you into your own land.

25 “Then I will pour clean water upon you; and you shall be clean. From all your filthiness and from all your idols will I cleanse you.

26 “I will also give you a new heart; and a new spirit will I put within you. And I will take away the stony heart out of your body; and I will give you a heart of flesh.

27 “And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My Statutes. And you shall keep My Judgments and do them.

28 “And you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers. And you shall be My people. And I will be your God.

29 “I will also deliver you from all your filthiness. And I will call for grain, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.

30 “For I will multiply the fruit of the trees and the increase of the field, so that you shall no longer bear the reproach of famine among the heathen.

31 “Then you shall remember your own wicked ways, and your deeds that were not good, and shall judge yourselves worthy to have been destroyed for your iniquities and for your abominations.

32 “Be it known to you that I do not do this for your sakes,” says the Lord GOD, “O you House of Israel! Be ashamed and confounded for your own ways!”

33 ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “On the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities, I will cause you to dwell in the cities; and the desolate places shall be built.

34 “And the desolate land shall be tilled instead of laying waste in the sight of all who pass by.

35 “For they said, ‘This waste land is like the Garden of Eden. And these once waste and desolate and ruinous cities are strong and inhabited.’

36 “Then the rest of the heathen who are left all around you shall know that I, the LORD, build the ruinous places and plant the desolate places. I, the LORD, have spoken it and will do it.”

37 ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “I will also allow for this to be sought by the House of Israel, to perform it to them: I will increase them with men like a flock.

38 “As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in their solemn feasts, so shall the desolate cities be filled with flocks of men. And they shall know that I am the LORD.”’”

Psalm 86

86 Bow down Your ear, O LORD, and hear me; for I am poor and needy.

Preserve my soul, for I am merciful. My God, save Your servant who trusts in You.

Be merciful to me, O LORD, for I cry upon You continually.

Rejoice the soul of Your servant. For to You, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.

For You, LORD, are good and merciful and of great kindness to all those who call upon You.

Give ear, LORD, to my prayer and pay attention to the voice of my supplication.

In the day of my trouble, I will call upon You; for You hear me.

Among the gods there is none like You, O LORD; and there are none like Your works.

All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O LORD, and shall glorify Your Name.

10 For You are great and do wondrous things. You are God, alone.

11 Teach me Your way, O LORD, and I will walk in Your truth. Knit my heart to You, so that I may fear Your Name.

12 I will praise You, O LORD my God, with all my heart. Indeed, I will glorify Your Name forever.

13 For great is Your mercy toward me; and You have delivered my soul from the lowest grave.

14 O God, the proud have risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought my soul and have not set You before them.

15 But You, O LORD, are a pitying God, and merciful, slow to anger and great in kindness and truth.

16 Turn to me and have mercy upon me. Give Your strength to Your servant and save the son of Your handmaid.

17 Show a sign of goodness toward me, so that those who hate me may see it and be ashamed; because You, O LORD, have helped me and comforted me. A Psalm, or song, committed to the sons of Korah
