M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
11 And when Jabin, king of Hazor, had heard this, then he sent to Jobab, king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,
2 and to the kings who were by the north, in the mountains and plains, toward the south side of Chinneroth, and in the valleys, and in the borders of Dor, westward,
3 to the Canaanites (to the east and to the west), and to the Amorites, and Hittites, and Perizzites, and Jebusites in the mountains, and to the Hivites, under Hermon, in the land of Mizpah.
4 And they came out, and all their armies with them, many people, as the sand that is on the seashore in multitude, with horses and chariots, exceedingly many.
5 So all these kings met together, and came and camped together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.
6 Then the LORD said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them. For tomorrow, about this time, I will deliver them all, dead, before Israel. You shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire.”
7 Then came Joshua (and all the men of war with him) against them, by the waters of Merom, and fell upon them suddenly.
8 And the LORD gave them into the hand of Israel. And they struck them and chased them to the great Sidon, and to Misrephoth, and to the valley of Mizpah, eastward, and struck them until none of them remained.
9 And Joshua did to them as the LORD had Commanded. He hamstrung their horses and burnt their chariots with fire.
10 Also at that time, Joshua turned back and took Hazor and struck its king with the sword. For Hazor had previously been the head of all those kingdoms.
11 Moreover, they struck and utterly destroyed all its people with the edge of the sword, leaving no one alive. And he burnt Hazor with fire.
12 So Joshua took all the cities of those kings, and all those kings, and struck them with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them, as Moses, the servant of the LORD, had commanded.
13 But Israel burnt none of the cities that stood firm in their strength. The lone exception was Hazor, which Joshua burnt.
14 And the children of Israel took all the spoil of these cities and their cattle as plunder. But they struck every man with the edge of the sword until they had destroyed them, not leaving anyone alive.
15 As the LORD had Commanded Moses, His servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua. He left nothing undone of all that the LORD had Commanded Moses.
16 So Joshua took all this land of the mountains, and all the south, and all the land of Goshen, and the low country, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the low country of the same,
17 from Mount Halak (which goes up to Seir) to Baal Gad in the valley of Lebanon, under Mount Hermon. And he took all their kings and struck them, and killed them.
18 Joshua made war with all those kings for a long time.
19 Nor was there any city that made peace with the children of Israel, except those Hivites who inhabited Gibeon. All others they took by battle.
20 For it came from the LORD to harden their hearts, so that they would come against Israel in battle, intending to utterly destroy them, showing them no mercy. But that they would bring them to nothing, as the LORD had Commanded Moses.
21 And Joshua came that same season and destroyed the Anakims out of the mountains, out of Hebron, out of Debir, out of Anab, and out of all the mountains of Judah, and out of all the mountains of Israel. Joshua utterly destroyed them, with their cities.
22 There was no Anakim left in the land of the children of Israel. They were only left in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod.
23 So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD had said to Moses. And Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel, according to their portions, through their tribes. Then the land was at rest without war.
144 Blessed be the LORD, my strength; Who teaches my hands to fight and my fingers to battle,
2 my goodness and my fortress, my tower and my deliverer, my shield. I trust in Him Who subdues my people under me.
3 LORD, what is man that You regard him, the son of man that You think upon him?
4 Man is like vanity, his days like a shadow that vanishes.
5 Bow Your heavens, O LORD, and come down. Touch the mountains and they shall smoke.
6 Cast forth the lightning and scatter them. Shoot out Your arrows and consume them.
7 Send Your hand from above. Deliver me, and take me out of the great waters, and from the hand of strangers,
8 whose mouth talks vanity. And their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
9 I will sing a new song to You, O God—sing to You upon a viol, an instrument of ten strings—
10 Who gives deliverance to kings, rescues David, His servant, from the hurtful sword.
11 Rescue me and deliver me from the hand of strangers, whose mouth talks vanity; and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood,
12 so that our sons may be as the plants (growing up in their youth) and our daughters as the cornerstones (sculpted in the likeness of a palace);
13 so that our corners may be full—abounding with diverse sorts — and that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousand in our streets;
14 so that our oxen may be strong to labor; so that there is no invasion nor going out nor crying in our streets.
15 Blessed are the people who are so. Blessed are the people whose God is the LORD. A Psalm of David, of praise
5 “Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem. And behold now, and know, and inquire in its open places, if you can find a man, if there are any who execute judgment, and seek the truth. And I will spare it.
2 “For though they say, ‘The LORD lives,’ they still swear falsely.”
3 O LORD, are not Your eyes upon the truth? You have stricken them, but they have not anguished. You have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction. They have made their faces harder than a stone and have refused to return.
4 Therefore I said, “Surely they are poor, they are foolish. For they do not know the way of the LORD, the judgment of their God.
5 “I will go to the great men, and will speak to them. For they have known the way of the LORD, the judgment of their God.” But these have altogether broken the yoke and burst the bonds.
6 Therefore, a lion out of the forest shall slay them. And a wolf of the wilderness shall destroy them. A leopard shall watch over their cities. Everyone who goes out there shall be torn in pieces, because their trespasses are many and their rebellions are increased.
7 “How shall I pardon you for this? Your children have forsaken Me, and sworn by those who are not gods. Though I fed them to the full, they still committed adultery, and assembled themselves by companies in the harlot’s houses.
8 “They rose up in the morning like fed horses, every man neighing after his neighbor’s wife.
9 “Shall I not reckon for these things,” says the LORD? Shall not My Soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
10 “Climb up upon their walls and destroy them. But do not make a full end. Take away their battlements, for they are not the LORD’s.
11 “For the House of Israel, and the House of Judah have grievously trespassed against Me,” says the LORD.
12 They have denied the LORD, and said, “It is not Him, nor shall the plague come upon us, nor shall we see sword or famine.
13 “And the Prophets shall be as wind. And the Word is not in them. Thus shall it come to them.”
14 Therefore, thus says the LORD God of Hosts: “Because you speak such words, behold, I will put My Words into your mouth, like a fire. And this people shall be as wood. And it shall devour them.
15 “Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from afar, O House of Israel,” says the LORD, “which is a mighty nation, and an ancient nation, a nation whose language you do not know. Nor do you understand what they say.
16 “Their quiver is as an open sepulcher. They are all very strong.
17 “And they shall eat your harvest and your bread. They shall devour your sons and your daughters. They shall eat up your sheep and your bullocks. They shall eat your vines and your fig trees. They shall destroy your fenced cities with the sword, in which you trusted.
18 “Nevertheless, in those days,” says the LORD, “I will not make a full end of you.
19 “And when they shall say, ‘Why does the LORD our God do these things to us?’ Then You shall answer them, “Just as you have forsaken Me and served strange gods in your land, so shall you serve strangers in a land that is not yours.
20 “Declare this in the House of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying,
21 ‘Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding, which has eyes and does not see, which has ears and does not hear.
22 ‘Do you not fear Me,’ says the LORD? ‘Or will you not be afraid in My presence? Who has placed the sand for the bounds of the sea by the perpetual decree, so that it cannot pass it? And though its waves rage, they still cannot prevail? Though they roar, they cannot pass over it?
23 “But this people has an unfaithful and rebellious heart. They have departed and gone.
24 “For they do not say in their heart, ‘Let us now fear the LORD our God, Who gives rain both early and late in due season, Who reserves for us the appointed weeks of the harvest.’
25 “Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have hindered good things from you.
26 “For among My people are found wicked persons, who lay in wait, as he who sets snares. They have made a pit to catch men.
27 “As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit, by which they have become great and grown rich.
28 “They have grown fat and smooth. They surpass the deeds of the wicked. They execute no judgment, no not the judgment of the fatherless. Yet they prosper, though they execute no judgment for the poor.
29 “Shall I not reckon for these things,” says the LORD? “Or shall not My Soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
30 “A horrible and filthy thing has been committed in the land.
31 “The prophets prophesy lies, and the priests receive gifts in their hands, and My people delight in them. But what will you do when it ends?
19 And it happened that when Jesus had finished these sayings, He departed from Galilee, and came into the region of Judea beyond Jordan.
2 And great multitudes followed Him. And He healed them there.
3 Then the Pharisees came to Him, tempting Him, and saying to Him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife upon every occasion?”
4 And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He Who made them at the beginning, made them male and female;
5 “and said, ‘For this reason, a man shall leave father and mother, and cling to his wife. And those who were two, shall be one flesh?’
6 “Therefore, they are no more two, but one flesh. Therefore, do not let man separate that which God has coupled together.”
7 They said to Him, “Why, then, did Moses command to give a Bill of Divorcement, and to send her away?”
8 He said to them, “Because of the hardness of your heart, Moses allowed you to divorce your wives. But from the beginning it was not so.
9 “Therefore, I say to you that whoever shall divorce his wife and marry another, unless it is for promiscuity, commits adultery. And whoever marries a divorcee ́, commits adultery.”
10 His disciples said to Him, “If it is so between man and wife, it is not good to marry.”
11 But He said to them, “All men cannot receive this thing. Only those to whom it is given.
12 “For there are some eunuchs who were so born from their mother’s belly. And there are some eunuchs who are gelded by men. And there be some eunuchs who have gelded themselves for the Kingdom of Heaven. The one who is able to receive this, let him receive it.”
13 Then little children were brought to Him, so that He could put hands on them and pray. And the disciples rebuked them.
14 But Jesus said, “Allow the little children! And do not forbid them to come to Me! For of such is the Kingdom of Heaven.”
15 And when He had put His hands on them, He departed from there.
16 And behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Master, what good thing shall I do, so that I may have eternal life?
17 And He said to him, “Why did you call me good? There is no one good, but One, even God. But if you wish to enter into Life, keep the Commandments.”
18 He said to Him, “Which?” And Jesus said, “These: ‘You shall not kill’. ‘You shall not commit adultery’. ‘You shall not steal’. ‘You shall not bear false witness’.
19 “‘Honor your father and mother’. And, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself’.”
20 The young man said to Him, “I have observed all these things from my youth. “What do I still lack?”
21 Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be perfect, go. Sell what you have and give it to the poor. And you shall have treasure in Heaven. And come and follow Me.”
22 And when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful. For he had great possessions.
23 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I say to you that a rich man shall not easily enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
24 “And again I say to you it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God.”
25 And when His disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, “Who then can be saved?”
26 And Jesus looked at them, and said to them, “With man this is impossible. But with God, all things are possible.”
27 Then Peter answered, and said to Him, “Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed You. What, therefore, shall we have?”
28 And Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you that when the Son of Man shall sit on the throne of His Majesty, you who followed Me in the new birth shall also sit upon twelve thrones, and judge the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 “And whoever shall forsake houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My Name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold more, and shall inherit everlasting life.
30 “But many that are first, shall be last. And the last shall be first.
