Deuteronomy 33-34

33 Now this is the blessing with which Moses, the man of God, blessed the children of Israel before his death, and said,

“The LORD came from Sinai, rose up from Seir to them, and appeared clearly from Mount Paran. And He came with tens of thousands of saints at his right hand, and a fiery Law for them.

“Also, He loves the people. All Your saints are in Your hands. And they are humbled at Your feet, to receive Your words.

“Moses commanded us a Law for an inheritance of the Congregation of Jacob.

“Then He was among the righteous, king, when the heads of the people and the tribes of Israel were assembled.

“Let Reuben live, and not die, though his men are a small number.

And thus he blessed Judah, and said, “Hear, O LORD, the voice of Judah, and bring him to his people. His hands shall be sufficient for him, if You help him against his enemies.

And of Levi, he said, “Let Your Thummim and Your Urim be with your holy one, whom you tested in Massah and caused to strive at the waters of Meribah,

“who said to his father and to his mother, ‘I have not seen him.’ Nor did he acknowledge his brothers. Nor did he acknowledge his own children. For they observed Your Word and kept Your Covenant.

10 “They shall teach Jacob Your Judgments, and Israel Your Law. They shall put incense before Your Face, and the Burnt Offering upon Your Altar.

11 “Bless, O LORD, his substance, and accept the work of his hands. Strike through the loins of those who rise against him, and of those who hate him, so that they do not rise again.

12 Of Benjamin he said, “The beloved of the LORD shall dwell in safety by him, he shall cover him all the day long, and dwell between his shoulders.

13 And of Joseph he said, “Blessed of the LORD is his land, with the sweetness of Heaven, with the dew, and with the depths lying beneath,

14 “and with the sweet increase of the Sun, and with the sweet increase of the Moon,

15 “and with the top of the ancient mountains, and with the sweetness of the old hills,

16 “and with the sweetness of the Earth, and abundance, therefore. And the goodwill of Him Who dwelt in the bush shall come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the top of the head of him who was separated from his brothers.

17 “His beauty shall be like his firstborn bullock, and his horns as the horns of a unicorn. Together with them he shall strike the people to the ends of the world. These are also the tens of thousands of Ephraim. And these are the thousands of Manasseh.

18 And of Zebulun he said, “Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out, and Issachar in your tents!

19 “They shall call the people to the mountain. There they shall offer the sacrifices of righteousness. For they shall partake of the abundance of the sea, and of the treasures hid in the sand.

20 Also of Gad he said, “Blessed is he who enlarges Gad. He dwells as a lion who catches the arm with the head for his prey.

21 “And he looked to himself at the beginning, because a portion of the Law-giver was hidden. Yet, he shall come with the heads of the people to execute the justice of the LORD and His Judgments with Israel.

22 And of Dan he said, “Dan is a lion’s whelp. He shall leap from Bashan.

23 Also of Naphtali he said, “O Naphtali, satisfied with favor, and filled with the blessing of the LORD, possess the west and the south!

24 And of Asher he said, “Asher shall be blessed with children. He shall be acceptable to his brothers, and shall dip his foot in oil.

25 “Your shoes shall be iron and brass, and your strength shall continue as long as you live.

26 There is none like God, O righteous, Who rides upon the heavens for your help, and on the clouds in His Glory.

27 “The eternal God is your refuge, and you are forever under his arms. He shall cast out the enemy before you, and will say, ‘Destroy.’

28 “Then Israel, the fountain of Jacob, shall dwell alone in safety in a land of wheat and wine. Also, His heavens shall drop the dew.

29 “Blessed are you, O Israel! Who is like you, O people saved by the LORD (the shield of your help and the sword of your glory)? Therefore, your enemies shall be in subjection to you. And you shall tread upon their high places.

34 Then Moses went from the plain of Moab up into Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah that is opposite Jericho. And the LORD showed him all the land of Gilead, to Dan,

and all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, to the western sea,

and the south, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, to Zoar.

And the LORD said to him, “This is the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your seed.’ I have allowed you to see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there.”

So Moses, the servant of the LORD, died there in the land of Moab, according to the Word of the LORD.

And He buried him in a valley, in the land of Moab, opposite Beth Peor. But no one knows of his sepulcher to this day.

Moses was now a hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.

And the children of Israel wept for Moses on the plain of Moab for thirty days. So the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended.

And Joshua, the son of Nun, was full of the spirit of wisdom. For Moses had put his hands upon him. And the children of Israel were obedient to him and did as the LORD had Commanded Moses.

10 But since then there has not arisen a Prophet like Moses in Israel — whom the LORD knew face to face —

11 in all the miracles and wonders which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt, before Pharaoh and before all his servants and before all his land,

12 and in all the mighty hand and all the great fear which Moses wrought in the sight of all Israel.

Psalm 119:145-176

KOPH

145 I have cried with my whole heart, “Hear me, O LORD, and I will keep Your Statutes!”

146 I called upon You, “Save me, and I will keep Your Testimonies!”

147 I arose before the morning light and cried, for I waited on Your Word.

148 My eyes are open before the night watches, to meditate on Your Word.

149 Hear my voice according to Your lovingkindness, O LORD. Quicken me according to Your judgment.

150 They draw near who follow after malice; and are far from Your Law.

151 You are near, O LORD, for all Your Commandments are true.

152 I have long known by Your Testimonies that You have established them forever.

RESH

153 Behold my affliction, and deliver me, for I have not forgotten Your Law.

154 Plead my cause and deliver me. Quicken me according to Your Word.

155 Salvation is far from the wicked, because they do not seek Your Statutes.

156 Great are Your tender mercies, O LORD. Quicken me according to Your Judgments.

157 My persecutors and my oppressors are many. Yet I do not swerve from Your Testimonies.

158 I saw the transgressors and was grieved, because they did not keep Your Word.

159 Consider, O LORD, how I love Your Precepts. Quicken me according to Your lovingkindness.

160 The beginning of Your Word is Truth. And all the Judgments of Your righteousness endure forever.

SCHIN

161 Princes have persecuted me without cause, but my heart stood in awe of Your Words.

162 I rejoice at Your Word, as one who finds a great spoil.

163 I hate falsehood and abhor it, but Your Law do I love.

164 Seven times a day do I praise You because of Your righteous Judgments.

165 Those who love Your Law shall have great peace. And nothing shall cause them to stumble.

166 LORD, I have trusted in Your salvation; and have done Your Commandments.

167 My soul has kept Your Testimonies, for I love them exceedingly.

168 I have kept Your Precepts and Your Testimonies, for all my ways are before You.

TAU

169 Let my complaint come before You, O LORD. And give me understanding according to Your Word.

170 Let my supplication come before You and deliver me according to Your Promise.

171 My lips shall speak praise, when You have taught me Your Statutes.

172 My tongue shall testify of Your Word. For all Your Commandments are righteous.

173 Let Your hand help me, for I have chosen Your Precepts.

174 I have longed for Your salvation, O LORD; and Your Law is my delight.

175 Let my soul live, and it shall praise You; and Your Judgments shall help me.

176 I have gone astray like a lost sheep. Seek Your servant, for I do not forget Your Commandments. A song of degrees

Isaiah 60

60 Arise! Be bright! For your light has come! And the Glory of the LORD has risen upon you!

For behold, darkness shall cover the Earth, and gross darkness the people. But the LORD shall arise upon you, and His Glory shall be seen upon you.

And the Gentiles shall walk in Your light, and kings at the brightness of Your rising up.

“Lift up your eyes all around and behold. All these are gathered and come to you. Your sons shall come from far, and your daughters shall be nourished at your side.

“Then you shall see and shine. Your heart shall be astonished and enlarged, because the multitude of the sea shall be converted to you, and the riches of the Gentiles shall come to you.

“The multitude of camels shall cover you, and the dromedaries of Midian and of Ephah. All those of Sheba shall come. They shall bring gold and incense, and show forth the praises of the LORD.

“All the sheep of Kedar shall be gathered to you. The rams of Nebajoth shall serve you. They shall come up to be accepted upon My Altar. And I will beautify the House of My Glory.

“Who are these who fly like a cloud, and as the doves, to their windows?

“Surely the isles shall wait for Me, and the ships of Tarshish, as at the beginning. So that they may bring your sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, to the Name of the LORD your God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because He has glorified you.

10 “And the sons of strangers shall build up your walls. And their kings shall minister to you. For in My wrath, I struck you. But in My mercy, I had compassion on you.

11 “Therefore, your gates shall be open continually. Neither day nor night shall they be shut, so that men may bring to you the riches of the Gentiles, and so that their kings may be brought.

12 “For the nation and the kingdom that will not serve you, shall perish. And those nations shall be utterly destroyed.

13 “The glory of Lebanon shall come to you—the fir tree, the elm and the box tree together—to beautify the place of My Sanctuary. For I will glorify the place of My Feet.

14 “Also, the sons of those who afflicted you shall come and bow to you. And all those who despised you shall fall down at the soles of your feet. And they shall call you, ‘The city of the LORD, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.’

15 “Whereas, you have been forsaken and hated, so that no man came near, I will make you an eternal glory, and a joy, from generation to generation.

16 “You shall also suck the milk of the Gentiles and shall suck the breasts of kings. And you shall know that I, the LORD, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

17 “For bronze will I bring gold, and for iron will I bring silver, and for wood, bronze, and for stones, iron. I will also make your government, peace, and your oppressors, righteousness.

18 “Violence shall be heard of no more in your land, or desolation, or destruction within your borders. But you shall call salvation, your walls, and praise, your gates.

19 “You shall have no more Sun to shine by day, nor shall the brightness of the Moon shine to you. For the LORD shall be your everlasting Light, and your God, your Glory.

20 “Your Sun shall never go down, nor shall your Moon be hidden. For the LORD shall be your everlasting light. And the days of your sorrow shall be ended.

21 “Also, your people shall all be righteous. They shall possess the land forever. The grass of My planting shall be the work of My Hands, so that I may be glorified.

22 “A little one shall become as a thousand, and a small one as a strong nation. I, the LORD, will hasten it in due time.”

Matthew 8

Now when He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him.

And behold, a leper came and worshipped Him, saying, “Master, if You will, You can make me clean.”

And Jesus, putting forth His hand, touched him, saying, “I will. Be clean.” And immediately, his leprosy was cleansed.

Then Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one. But go and show yourself to the priest. And offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a witness to them.”

When Jesus had entered into Capernaum, there came to Him a centurion, begging Him,

and said, “Master, my servant lies at home, sick of the palsy and grievously pained.”

And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”

But the centurion answered, saying, “Master, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But speak only the word, and my servant shall be healed.

“For I also am a man under authority and have soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go’, and he goes; and to another, ‘Come’, and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this’, and he does it.”

10 When Jesus heard that, He marveled, and said to those who followed Him, “Truly, I say to you, I have not found so great faith, even in Israel.

11 “But, I say to you that many shall come from the east and west and shall sit down with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the Kingdom of Heaven.

12 “And the children of the Kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way. And as you have believed, so be it done to you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.

14 And when Jesus came to Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother laid down, and sick of a fever.

15 And He touched her hand. And the fever left her. So, she arose and ministered to them.

16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were possessed with demons. And He cast out the spirits with His word, and healed all who were sick,

17 so that which was spoken by Isaiah the Prophet might be fulfilled, which says, “He took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses.”

18 And when Jesus saw great multitudes of people around Him, He commanded them to go over the water.

19 Then, a certain scribe came and said to Him, “Master, I will follow You wherever You go.”

20 But Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to rest His head.”

21 And another of His disciples said to Him, “Master, let me first go and bury my father.”

22 But Jesus said to him, “Follow Me. And let the dead bury the dead.”

23 And when He had entered into the ship, His disciples followed Him.

24 And behold, there arose a storm in the sea, so that the ship was covered with waves. But He was asleep.

25 Then His disciples came and woke Him, saying, “Master, save us! We are perishing!”

26 And He said to them, “Why are you fearful? O you of little faith.” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea. And so, there was a great calm.

27 And the men marveled, saying, “What kind of man is this, that both the winds and the sea obey Him?”

28 And when He had come to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, two possessed with demons met Him there, who came very fiercely out of the graves, so that no one could go near there.

29 And behold, they cried out, saying, “Jesus, the Son of God! What have we to do with You!? Have you come here to torment us before the time!?”

30 Now, there was a great herd of swine, feeding far away from them.

31 And the demons begged Him, saying, “If You cast us out, let us to go into the herd of swine!”

32 And He said to them, “Go!” So, they went out and departed into the herd of swine. And behold, the whole herd of swine ran headlong into the sea and died in the water.

33 Then the herdsmen fled. And when they had come into the city, they told all things, and what had become of those who were possessed with the demons.

34 And behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus. And when they saw Him, they begged Him to depart from that region.
