M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
30 “Now when all these things shall come upon you (the blessing or the curse which I have set before you) and you shall turn into your heart among all the nations where the LORD your God has driven you,
2 “and shall return to the LORD your God and obey His Voice in all that I command you this day (you and your children) with all your heart and with all your soul,
3 “then the LORD your God will cause your captives to return, and have compassion upon you, and will return to gather you out of all the people where the LORD your God has scattered you.
4 “Though you were cast to the utmost part of Heaven, from there will the LORD your God gather you. And from there will He take you.
5 “And the LORD your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed. And you shall possess it. And He will show you favor and will multiply you above your fathers.
6 “And the LORD your God will circumcise your heart, and the heart of your seed, so that you may love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, so that you may live.
7 “And the LORD your God will lay all these curses upon your enemies, and on those who hate you, and who persecute you.
8 “Return, therefore, and obey the Voice of the LORD, and do all His Commandments which I command you this day.
9 “And the LORD your God will make you plenteous in every work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, in the fruit of your cattle, and in the fruit of the land, for your wealth. For the LORD will turn again and rejoice over you, to do you good (as He rejoiced over your fathers)
10 “because you shall obey the Voice of the LORD your God — in keeping His Commandments and His Ordinances which are written in the Book of this Law — when you shall return to the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
11 “For this Commandment which I command you this day is not hidden from you, nor is it far off.
12 “It is not in Heaven, so that you should say, ‘Who shall go up for us to Heaven and bring it to us and cause us to hear it, so that we may do it?’
13 “Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you should say, ‘Who shall go over the sea for us and bring it to us and cause us to hear it, so that we may do it?’
14 “But the Word is very near to you, in your mouth and in your heart, for you to do it.
15 “Behold, I have set before you this day life and good, death and evil,
16 “in that I command you this day to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His Commandments, and His Ordinances, and His Laws, so that you may live and be multiplied, and that the LORD your God may bless you in the land to which you go to possess.
17 “But if your heart turns away, so that you will not obey but shall be seduced and worship other gods and serve them,
18 “I pronounce to you this day that you shall surely perish. You shall not prolong your days in the land which you pass over Jordan to possess.
19 “I call Heaven and Earth to record this day against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore, choose life, so that you and your seed may live
20 “by loving the LORD your God, by obeying His Voice, and by clinging to Him. For He is your life, and the length of your days, so that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers—Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—to give them.”
JOD
73 Your Hands have made me and fashioned me. Give me understanding, therefore, that I may learn Your Commandments.
74 So those who fear You, seeing me, shall rejoice, because I have trusted in Your Word.
75 I know, O LORD, that Your Judgments are right, and that You have afflicted me justly.
76 I pray that Your mercy may comfort me, according to Your Promise to Your servant.
77 Let Your tender mercies come to me, that I may live. For Your Law is my delight.
78 Let the proud be ashamed, for they have dealt wickedly and falsely with me. But I meditate on Your Precepts.
79 Let those who fear You turn to me, and those who know Your Testimonies.
80 Let my heart be upright in Your Statutes, that I be not ashamed.
CAPH
81 My soul fainted for Your salvation, yet I wait for Your Word.
82 My eyes fail for Your Promise, saying, “When will You comfort me?”
83 For though I am like a wineskin in a smokehouse, even so I do not forget Your Statutes.
84 How many are the days of Your servant? When will You execute judgment on those who persecute me?
85 The proud have dug pits for me, which is not after Your Law.
86 All Your Commandments are true. They persecute me falsely. Help me.
87 They had almost consumed me upon the Earth, yet I do not forsake Your Precepts.
88 Quicken me according to Your lovingkindness. So shall I keep the Testimony of Your Mouth.
LAMED
89 O LORD, Your Word endures forever in Heaven.
90 Your Truth is from generation to generation. You have laid the foundation of the Earth, and it abides.
91 They continue even to this day by Your Ordinances, for all are Your servants.
92 Except Your Law had been my delight, I should now have perished in my affliction.
93 I will never forget Your Precepts, for by them You have quickened me.
94 I am Yours. Save me. For I have sought Your Precepts.
95 The wicked have waited for me to destroy me, but I will consider Your Testimonies.
96 I have seen the end of all perfection; but Your Commandment is exceedingly large.
57 The righteous perishes, and no man considers it in his heart. And merciful men are taken away, and no man understands that the righteous is taken away from evil.
2 Peace shall come. They shall rest in their beds whose path is straight.
3 “But you, witches’ children, come here, the seed of the adulterer and of the whore.
4 “Of whom do you make sport? Upon whom have you gaped and thrust out your tongue? Are not you rebellious children, a false seed,
5 “inflamed with idols under every green tree and sacrificing the children in the valleys under the tops of the rocks?
6 “Your portion is in the smooth stones of the river. They, they are your lot. To them have you poured a drink offering. You have offered a sacrifice. Should I delight in these?
7 “You have made your bed upon a very high mountain. You went up there, even there, to offer sacrifice.
8 “You have also set up your remembrance behind the doors and posts. For you have uncovered yourself to one other than Me, and gone up, enlarged your bed, and made a covenant between yourself and them, and loved their bed in every place where you saw it.
9 “You went to the kings with oil and increased your ointments, sent your messengers far off, and humbled yourself into Hell.
10 “You wearied yourself in your manifold journeys. You did not say, ‘There is no hope.’ You have found life by your hand. Therefore you were not grieved.
11 “And whom did you reverence or fear, seeing you have lied to Me, and have not remembered Me, or set your mind thereon? Is it not because I hold My peace, and for a long time, that you do not fear Me?
12 “I will declare your righteousness and your works, and they shall not profit you.
13 “When you cry, let those whom you have gathered together deliver you. But the wind shall take them all away. Vanity shall pull them away. But he who trusts in Me shall inherit the land and shall possess My Holy Mountain.
14 “And He shall say, ‘Cast up! Cast up! Prepare the way! Take the stumbling blocks out of the way of My people!’”
15 For thus says He Who is high and excellent, He Who inhabits the eternity, Whose Name is the Holy One, “I dwell in the High and Holy Place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to give life to those who are of a contrite heart.
16 “For I will not contend forever. Nor will I always be angry. For the spirit should fail before me. And I have made the breath.
17 “I am angry with him for his wicked covetousness and have stricken him. I hid Myself and was angry. Yet he went away and turned after the way of his own heart.
18 “I have seen his ways and will heal him. I will also lead him and restore comfort to him, and to those who lament him.
19 “I create the fruit of the lips: peace—peace to those who are far off and to those who are near,” says the LORD, “—for I will heal him.
20 “But the wicked are like the raging sea that cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.
21 “There is no peace,” says my God, “to the wicked.”
5 And when He saw the multitude, He went up into a mountain. And when He was set, His disciples came to Him.
2 And He opened His mouth, and taught them, saying,
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5 “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the Earth.
6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.
7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.
10 “Blessed are those who suffer persecution for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
11 “Blessed shall you be when others revile you, and people utter all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.
12 “Rejoice and be glad! For great is your reward in Heaven! For so they persecuted the Prophets who were before you.
13 “You are the salt of the Earth. But if the salt has lost his savor, how shall it be salted? It is thereafter good for nothing but to be cast out, and to be trampled underfoot by man.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
15 “Nor does anyone light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick. And it gives light to all who are in the house.
16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father Who is in Heaven.
17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law, or the Prophets. I have not come to destroy them, but to fulfill them.
18 “For truly I say to you, until Heaven and Earth perish, not one jot or one tittle of the Law shall escape, till all things are fulfilled.
19 “Therefore, whoever shall break one of these least Commandments, and teach man so, he shall be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever shall observe and teach them, the same shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.
20 “For I say to you, unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
21 “You have heard that it was said to those of the old time, ‘You shall not murder’. For whoever murders shall be culpable of judgment.
22 “But I say to you, whoever is angry with his brother unadvisedly, shall be culpable of judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca’, shall be worthy to be punished by the Council. And whoever shall say, ‘Fool’, shall be worthy to be punished with Hell fire.
23 “If, then, you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you,
24 “leave your offering there before the altar and go your way. First, be reconciled to your brother and then come and offer your gift.
25 “Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, and the judge delivers you to the sergeant, and you are cast into prison.
26 “Truly I say to you, you shall not come out from there, till you have paid the last coin.
27 “You have heard that it was said to those of old time, ‘You shall not commit adultery’.
28 “But I say to you that whoever looks on a woman, to lust after her, has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
29 “So if your right eye causes you to offend, pluck it out and cast it from you. For better it is for you that one of your members perish than that your whole body should be cast into Hell.
30 “Also if your right hand makes you offend, cut it off, and cast it from you. For better it is for you that one of your members perish than that your whole body should be cast into Hell.
31 “It has been said also, ‘Whoever shall divorce his wife, let him give her a bill of divorcement’.
32 “But I say to you, whoever shall divorce his wife (except for promiscuity) causes her to commit adultery. And whoever shall marry her who is divorced, commits adultery.
33 “Again, you have heard that it was said to those of old time, ‘You shall not swear false oaths, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord’.
34 “But I say to you do not swear at all, neither by Heaven (for it is the throne of God)
35 “nor by the Earth (for it is His footstool), nor by Jerusalem (for it is the city of the great King).
36 “Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black.
37 “But let your communication be ‘Yes, yes. No, no.’ For whatever is more than these, comes from evil.
38 “You have heard that it has been said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.”
39 “But I say to you do not resist evil. But whoever shall strike you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40 “And if anyone would sue you, and take away your coat, let him have your cloak also.
41 “And whoever will compel you to go a mile, go with him two.
42 “Give to one who asks, and do not turn away from one who would borrow from you.
43 “You have heard that it has been said, ‘You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy’.
44 “But I say to you love your enemies. Bless those who curse you. Do good to those who hate you. And pray for those who hurt you and persecute you,
45 “so that you may be the children of your Father, Who is in Heaven. For He makes His Sun to rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the just and unjust.
46 “For if you love those who love you, what reward shall you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?
47 “And if you are only friendly to your brothers, what singular thing do you do? Do not even the tax collectors do likewise?
48 “You shall therefore be perfect, as your Father, Who is in Heaven, is perfect.”
