M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
27 Then Moses, with the elders of Israel, commanded the people, saying, “Keep all the Commandments which I command you this day.
2 “And when you shall pass over Jordan, to the land which the LORD your God gives you, you shall set yourself up great stones and plaster them with plaster.
3 “And when you come over, write all the words of this Law upon them, so that you may go into the land which the LORD your God gives you (a land that flows with milk and honey, as the LORD God of your fathers has promised you).
4 “Therefore, when you shall pass over Jordan, you shall set up these stones which I command you this day on Mount Ebal. And you shall plaster them with plaster.
5 “And there you shall build an Altar to the LORD your God, an Altar of stones. You shall lift no iron to them.
6 “You shall make the Altar of the LORD your God out of whole stones, and offer upon it Burnt Offerings to the LORD your God.
7 “And you shall offer Peace Offerings, and shalt eat there and rejoice before the LORD your God.
8 “And you shall write all the words of this Law upon the stones, well and plainly.”
9 And Moses and the priests of the Levites spoke to all Israel, saying, “Be silent and hear, O Israel. This day you have become the people of the LORD your God.
10 “You shall therefore obey the Voice of the LORD your God, and do His Commandments and His Ordinances which I command you this day.”
11 And Moses charged the people the same day, saying,
12 “These shall stand upon Mount Gerizim, to bless the people when you shall pass over Jordan: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.
13 “And these shall stand upon Mount Ebal, to curse: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
14 “And the Levites shall answer and say to all the men of Israel with a loud voice,
15 ‘Cursed is the man who shall make any carved or molten image—an abomination to the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman—and puts it in a secret place.’ And all the people shall answer and say: ‘So be it’.
16 ‘Cursed is he who curses his father and his mother.’ And all the people shall say, ‘So be it’.
17 ‘Cursed is he who removes his neighbor’s boundary.’ And all the people shall say, ‘So be it’.
18 ‘Cursed is he who makes the blind misstep.’ And all the people shall say, ‘So be it’.
19 ‘Cursed is he who hinders the right of the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow.’ And all the people shall say, ‘So be it’.
20 ‘Cursed is he who lies with his father’s wife, for he has uncovered his father’s extremity.’ And all the people shall say, ‘So be it’.
21 ‘Cursed is he who lies with any beast.’ And all the people shall say, ‘So be it’.
22 ‘Cursed is he who lies with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother.’ And all the people shall say, ‘So be it’.
23 ‘Cursed is he who lies with his mother-in-law.’ And all the people shall say, ‘So be it’.
24 ‘Cursed is he who slanders his neighbor.’ And all the people shall say, ‘So be it’.
25 ‘Cursed is he who takes a bribe to kill innocent blood.’ And all the people shall say, ‘So be it’.
26 ‘Cursed is he who does not establish all the words of this Law, to do them.’ And all the people shall say, ‘So be it’.
28 “If you shall diligently obey the Voice of the LORD your God and observe and do all His Commandments which I command you this day, then the LORD your God will set you on high, above all the nations of the Earth.
2 “And all these blessings shall come on you, and overtake you, if you shall obey the Voice of the LORD your God.
3 “Blessed shall you be in the city and blessed also in the field.
4 “Blessed shall the fruit of your body be, and the fruit of your ground, and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your cattle, and the flocks of your sheep.
5 “Blessed shall your basket be, and your dough.
6 “Blessed shall you be when you come in and blessed also when you go out.
7 “The LORD shall cause your enemies who rise against you to fall before your face. They shall come out against you one way and shall flee before you seven ways.
8 “The LORD shall Command the blessing to be with you in your store houses and in all to which you set your hand and will bless you in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
9 “The LORD shall make you a holy people to Himself, as He has sworn to you, if you shall keep the Commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways.
10 “Then all people of the Earth shall see that the Name of the LORD is called upon over you. And they shall be afraid of you.
11 “And the LORD shall make you plenteous in goods, in the fruit of your body and in the fruit of your cattle and in the fruit of your ground, in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to give you.
12 “The LORD shall open His good treasure to you, the heavens to give rain to your land in due season and to bless all the work of your hands. And you shall lend to many nations but shall not borrow yourself.
13 “And the LORD shall make you the head and not the tail. And you shall only be above, and shall not be beneath, if you obey the Commandments of the LORD your God which I command you this day, to keep and to do.
14 “But you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
15 “But if you will not obey the Voice of the LORD your God, to keep and to do all His Commandments and His Ordinances which I command you this day, then all these curses shall come upon you, and overtake you:
16 “Cursed shall you be in the town and cursed also in the field.
17 “Cursed shall your basket be, and your dough.
18 “Cursed shall be the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your land, the increase of your cattle, and the flocks of your sheep.
19 “Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed also when you go out.
ALEPH
1 Blessed are those who are upright in their way and walk in the Law of the LORD.
2 Blessed are those who keep His Testimonies and seek Him with their whole heart.
3 Surely, they work no iniquity, but walk in His ways.
4 You have commanded to keep Your Precepts diligently.
5 Oh that my ways were directed to keep Your Statutes!
6 Then I would not be confounded, with respect to all Your Commandments.
7 I will praise You with an upright heart, when I shall learn the Judgments of Your righteousness.
8 I will keep Your Statutes. Do not forsake me utterly.
BETH
9 How shall a young man correct his way? By living according to Your Word.
10 With my whole heart I have sought You. Do not let me wander from Your Commandments.
11 I have treasured Your Word in my heart, that I might not sin against You.
12 Blessed are You, O LORD. Teach me Your Statutes.
13 With my lips I have declared all the Judgments of Your Mouth.
14 I have had as much delight in the way of Your Testimonies, as in all riches.
15 I will meditate on Your Precepts and consider Your ways.
16 I will delight in Your Statutes, and I will not forget Your Word.
GIMEL
17 Be beneficial to Your servant, that I may live and keep Your Word.
18 Open my eyes, that I may see the wonders of Your Law.
19 I am a stranger upon Earth. Do not hide Your Commandments from me.
20 My heart breaks for the desire of Your Judgments always.
21 You have rebuked the proud. Cursed are those who stray from Your Commandments.
22 Remove from me shame and contempt, for I have kept Your Testimonies.
23 Princes also sat and spoke against me, but Your servant meditated on Your Statutes.
24 Also Your Testimonies are my delight and my counselors.
54 “Rejoice, O barren who did not bear! Break forth into joy and rejoice, you who did not labor with child! For the desolate has more children than the married wife,” says the LORD.
2 “Enlarge the place of your tents. And let them spread out the curtains of your habitations. Do not spare. Stretch out your cords and strengthen your stakes.
3 “For you shall increase on the right hand and on the left. And your seed shall possess the Gentiles and dwell in the desolate cities.
4 “Do not fear. For you shall not be ashamed. Nor shall you be confounded. For you shall not be put to shame. Indeed, you shall forget the shame of your youth and shalt not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore.
5 “For He Who made you is your husband (Whose Name is the LORD of Hosts). And your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, shall be called the God of the whole world.
6 “For the LORD has called you, being like a woman forsaken and afflicted in spirit, and like a young wife when you were refused,” says your God.
7 “For a little while I have forsaken you. But with great compassion I will gather you.
8 “For a moment, in anger, I hid My Face from you for a little season. But with everlasting mercy, I have had compassion on you,” says the LORD, your Redeemer.
9 “For this is to Me as the waters of Noah. For as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should go over the Earth no more, so have I sworn that I would not be angry with you or rebuke you.
10 “For the mountains shall depart. And the hills shall fall down. But My mercy shall not depart from you. Nor shall the Covenant of My Peace fall away,” says the LORD, Who has compassion on you.
11 “O you afflicted and tossed with storms, who has no comfort, behold, I will lay your stones with antimony, and lay your foundation with sapphires.
12 “And I will make your windows of emeralds and your gates of shining, your borders of pleasant stones.
13 “And all your children shall be taught about the LORD. And much peace shall be to your children.
14 “In righteousness you shall be established, be far from oppression (for you shall not fear it) and from terror (for it shall not come near you).
15 “Behold, enemies shall gather themselves, but apart from Me. Whoever shall gather himself against you, shall fall by you.
16 “Behold, I have created the blacksmith, who blows the coals in the fire. And he who brings forth an instrument for his work. And I have created the destroyer to destroy.
17 “But none of the weapons that are formed against you shall prosper. And every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the LORD’s servants. And their righteousness is from Me,” says the LORD.
2 When Jesus then was born at Bethlehem in Judea, in the days of Herod the King, behold, wise men came from the east to Jerusalem,
2 saying, “Where is the King of the Jews Who is born? For we have seen His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”
3 When King Herod heard this, he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.
4 And gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he asked them where Christ should be born.
5 And they said to him, “At Bethlehem in Judea. For so it is written by the Prophet,
6 ‘And you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are not the least among the Princes of Judah. For out of you shall come the Governor Who shall feed My people, Israel.’”
7 Then Herod secretly called the wise men and carefully inquired of them the time that the star had appeared.
8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, saying, “Go, and search carefully for the Child. And when you have found Him, bring me word, that I may come also, and worship Him.”
9 So when they had heard the king, they departed. And lo, the star which they had seen in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over the place where the Child was.
10 And when they saw the star, they rejoiced with an exceedingly great joy.
11 And they went into the house, and found the Child (with Mary, his mother), and fell down and worshipped Him, and opened their treasures; and presented gifts to Him: gold and frankincense and myrrh.
12 And after they were warned by God in a dream not to return to Herod, they withdrew to their country by another way.
13 After their departure, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, and take the Child and His mother, and flee into Egypt. And stay there until I bring you word. For Herod will seek the Child to destroy Him.”
14 So he arose and took the Child and His mother by night and departed into Egypt.
15 And they were there until the death of Herod, so that which was spoken from the Lord by the prophet might be fulfilled, which says, “Out of Egypt have I called my Son.”
16 Then Herod, seeing that he had been mocked by the wise men, was exceedingly enraged. And he sent forth and had put to death all the male children in Bethlehem and the surrounding territory who were two years old and under (according to the time which he had carefully determined from the wise men).
17 Then that which was spoken by the Prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled, which says,
18 “A voice was heard in Ramah - mourning and weeping and howling greatly - Rachel weeping for her children. And she would not be comforted, because they were no more.”
19 And when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in Egypt, in a dream,
20 saying, “Arise. And take the Child and His mother. And go into the land of Israel. For those who sought the Child’s life are dead.”
21 Then he rose up, and took the Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel.
22 But when he heard that Archelaus reigned in Judea (instead of his father Herod) he was afraid to go there. But after he was warned by God in a dream, he withdrew into the parts of Galilee.
23 And he went and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, so that which was spoken by the prophets might be fulfilled, which says that He would be “called a Nazarite.”
