Version
Deuteronomy 6

“These, now, are the Commandments, Ordinances, and Laws, which the LORD your God Commanded to teach, so that you might do them in the land to which you go to possess,

“so that you might fear the LORD your God and keep all His Ordinances and his Commandments which I command you—you and your son and your son’s son, all the days of your life—so that your days may be prolonged.

“Hear, therefore, O Israel, and be careful to do it, so that it may go well with you, and that you may increase mightily in the land that flows with milk and honey, as the LORD God of your fathers has promised you.

“Hear, O Israel, The LORD our God is LORD only,

“and you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.

“And these words which I command you this day shall be in your heart.

“And you shall repeat them continually to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and as you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.

“And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand. And they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.

“Also, you shall write them upon the posts of your house and upon your gates.

10 “And when the LORD your God has brought you into the land which He swore to your fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give to you, with great and beautiful cities which you did not build,

11 “and houses full of all manner of goods which you did not fill, wells dug which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant. And you have eaten and are full.

12 “Beware, lest you forget the LORD, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

13 “You shall fear the LORD your God, and serve Him, and shall swear by His Name.

14 “You shall not walk after other gods, the gods of the people who are all around you

15 “(for the LORD your God is a jealous God among you), lest the wrath of the LORD your God be kindled against you and destroy you from the face of the Earth.

16 “You shall not tempt the LORD your God, as you tempted Him in Massah.

17 “You shall diligently keep the Commandments of the LORD your God, and His Testimonies and His Ordinances which He has commanded you.

18 “And you shall do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD, so that you may prosper, and that you may go in and possess that good land which the LORD swore to your fathers,

19 “to cast out all your enemies before you, as the LORD has said.

20 “When your son shall ask you in the future, saying, ‘What do these Testimonies and Ordinances and Laws which the LORD our God has Commanded you mean?’

21 “Then you shall say to your son, ‘We were Pharaoh’s slaves in Egypt. But the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty Hand.

22 ‘And the LORD showed great and unpleasant signs and wonders before our eyes, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household,

23 ‘and brought us out from there, to bring us in and to give us the land which He swore to our fathers.

24 ‘Therefore, the LORD has Commanded us to do all these Ordinances, to fear the LORD our God, so that it may go well with us, and that He may preserve us alive at the present time.

25 ‘Moreover, this shall be our righteousness before the LORD our God, if we take heed to keep all these Commandments, as He has Commanded us.’

Psalm 89

89 I will sing the mercies of the LORD forever. With my mouth I will declare Your truth from generation to generation.

For I said, “Mercy shall be set up forever. Your truth shall You establish in the very heavens.

“I have made a covenant with My Chosen. I have sworn to David My servant,

“‘Your Seed will I establish forever and set up your Throne from generation to generation.’” Selah.

O LORD, even the heavens shall praise Your wondrous work; indeed, Your truth, in the Congregation of the saints.

For who is equal to the LORD in the heaven? Who is like the LORD among the sons of the gods?

God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be reverenced above all who are around Him.

O, LORD God of Hosts, Who is a mighty LORD like You? And Your truth surrounds You.

You rule the raging of the sea. When the waves thereof arise, You still them.

10 You have beaten down Rahab as a man slain. You have scattered Your enemies with Your mighty arm.

11 The heavens are Yours. The Earth is also Yours. You have laid the foundation of the world and all that therein is.

12 You have created the north and the south. Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in Your Name.

13 You have a mighty arm. Your hand is strong. Your right hand is high.

14 Righteousness and equity are the establishment of Your throne. Mercy and truth go before Your face.

15 Blessed is the people who can rejoice in You. They shall walk in the light of Your countenance, O LORD.

16 They shall rejoice continually in Your Name; and in Your righteousness they shall exalt themselves.

17 For You are the glory of their strength; and by Your favor our horns shall be exalted.

18 For our shield belongs to the LORD, and our King to the Holy One of Israel.

19 You spoke, then, in a vision to Your holy one, and said, “I have laid help upon one who is mighty. I have exalted one chosen out of the people.

20 “I have found David, My servant. With My holy oil have I anointed him.

21 “Therefore, My hand shall be established with him and My arm shall strengthen him.

22 “The enemy shall not oppress him, nor shall the wicked hurt him.

23 “But I will destroy his foes before his face and plague those who hate him.

24 “My truth also, and My mercy, shall be with him; and in My Name shall his horn be exalted.

25 “I will also set his hand in the sea, and his right hand in the floods.

26 “He shall cry to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.’

27 “Also, I will make him My firstborn, higher than the kings of the Earth.

28 “I will keep My mercy for him for evermore; and My Covenant shall stand fast with him.

29 “I will also make his Seed endure forever, and his Throne as the days of Heaven.

30 “If his children forsake My Law and do not walk in My Judgments,

31 “if they break my statutes and do not keep My Commandments,

32 “then I will visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with strokes.

33 “Yet, I will not take My lovingkindness from him, nor will I falsify My truth.

34 “Nor will I break My Covenant, nor alter the thing that has gone out of My lips.

35 “I have sworn once, by My holiness, that I will not fail David.

36 “His Seed shall endure forever; and his Throne shall be as the Sun before Me.

37 “He shall be established forevermore as the Moon, and as a faithful witness in the heaven.” Selah.

38 But You have rejected and abhorred. You have been angry with Your anointed.

39 You have broken the Covenant of Your servant and profaned his crown, casting it on the ground.

40 You have broken down all his walls. You have laid his fortresses in ruin.

41 All who go by the way, plunder him. He is a rebuke to his neighbors.

42 You have set up the right hand of his enemies and made all his adversaries rejoice.

43 You have also turned the edge of his sword and have not made him stand in the battle.

44 You have caused his dignity to decay and cast his throne to the ground.

45 You have shortened the days of his youth and covered him with shame. Selah.

46 LORD, how long will You hide Yourself? Forever? Shall Your wrath burn like fire?

47 Remember how short my time is. Why should You create all the children of men in vain?

48 What man lives and shall not see death? Shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.

49 LORD, where are Your former mercies You swore to David in Your truth?

50 Remember, O LORD, the rebuke of Your servants, which I bear in my bosom, of all the mighty people.

51 For Your enemies have reproached, O LORD, because they have reproached the footsteps of Your anointed.

52 Praise the LORD forevermore! So be it. Even so be it. A prayer of Moses, the man of God

Isaiah 34

34 Come near, you nations and hear! And listen, you people! Let the Earth hear and all that is therein, the world and all that proceeds from it.

For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and wrath upon all their armies. He has destroyed them, delivered them to the slaughter.

And their slain shall be cast out. And their stink shall come up out of their bodies. And the mountains shall be melted with their blood.

And all the host of Heaven shall be dissolved. And the heavens shall be folded like a book. And all their hosts shall fall, as the leaf falls from the vine, and as it falls from the fig tree.

“For My sword shall be quenched in Heaven. Behold, it shall come down upon Edom, even upon the people of My curse, to judgment.”

The sword of the LORD is filled with blood. It prospers with the fat, with the blood of the lambs and the goats, with the fat of the kidneys of the rams. For the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.

And the wild oxen shall come down with them, and the heifers with the bulls. And their land shall be drenched with blood, and their dust made to prosper with fatness.

For it is the day of the LORD’s vengeance, the year of recompense for the judgment of Zion.

And its rivers shall be turned into tar, and its dust into brimstone. And its land shall be burning tar.

10 It shall not be quenched, night or day. Its smoke shall go up forever. It shall be desolate from generation to generation. No one shall pass through it, forever and ever.

11 But the pelican and the hedgehog shall possess it. And the great owl and the raven shall dwell in it. And He shall stretch out upon it the line of confusion and the stones of emptiness.

12 Its nobles shall call to the kingdom and there shall be none. And all its princes shall be nothing.

13 And it shall bring forth thorns in its palaces, nettles and thistles in its strongholds. And it shall be a home for serpents, and a court for unclean birds.

14 Also, the wild beasts of the desert shall meet the jackals there. And the wild goat shall cry to his companion. And the night demon shall rest there and shall find for herself a quiet dwelling.

15 There shall the owl make her nest and lay and hatch and gather them under her shadow. There shall the vultures also be gathered, each one with her mate.

16 Seek in the Book of the LORD and read. None of these shall fail. None shall want for a mate. For His Mouth has Commanded, and His very Spirit has gathered them.

17 And He has cast the lot for them. And His Hand has divided to them by line. They shall possess it forever. From generation to generation shall they dwell in it.

Revelation 4

After this, I looked. And behold, a door was open in Heaven. And the first voice which I heard was, as it were, of a trumpet; talking with me, saying, “Come up here! And I will show you things which must be done hereafter.”

And immediately, I was ravished in the Spirit. And behold, a throne was set in Heaven. And One sat upon the throne.

And He Who sat looked like a jasper stone, and a sardius. And there was a rainbow around the throne, which looked like an emerald.

And around the throne were 24 seats. And upon the seats I saw 24 elders sitting, clothed in white raiment. And on their heads were crowns of gold.

And out of the throne proceeded lightning and thunder and voices. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne (which are the seven spirits of God).

And before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne and around the throne were four beasts, full of eyes in front and behind.

And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf. And the third beast had a face as a man. And the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.

And each of the four beasts had six wings around him. And they were full of eyes within. And they ceased neither day nor night, saying, “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty! Who was and Who is and Who is to come!”

And when those beasts gave glory and honor and thanks to Him Who sat on the throne, Who lives forever and ever,

10 the 24 elders fell down before Him Who sat on the throne and worshipped Him Who lives for evermore; and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

11 “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power! For You have created all things! And for Your will’s sake they are and have been created!”
