M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
4 “Now therefore, listen, O Israel, to the Ordinances and to the Laws which I teach you to do, so that you may live and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers gives you.
2 “You shall add nothing to the Word which I command you. Nor shall you take anything from it, so that you may keep the Commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
3 “Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baal Peor. For of all the men who followed Baal Peor, the LORD your God has destroyed every one from among you.
4 “But you who clung to the LORD your God are alive, every one of you, this day.
5 “Behold, I have taught you Ordinances and Laws, as the LORD my God Commanded me, so that you should do the same within the land to which you go to possess.
6 “Keep them, therefore, and do them. For that is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the people who shall hear all these Ordinances, and shall say, ‘Only this people is wise and of understanding, a great nation.
7 ‘For what nation is so great, to whom the gods come so near as the LORD our God is in all that we call to Him for?’
8 “And what nation is so great that it has Ordinances and Laws so righteous as all this Law which I set before you this day?
9 “But guard yourself. And keep your soul diligently, so that you do not forget the things which your eyes have seen. And that they do not depart out of your heart all the days of your life. But teach them to your sons, and your sons’ sons,
10 “the day that you stood before the LORD your God in Horeb when the LORD said to me, ‘Gather the people together for Me. And I will cause them to hear My Words, so that they may learn to fear Me all the days that they shall live upon the Earth, and that they may teach their children.’
11 “Then you came near and stood under the mountain. And the mountain burnt with fire, up to the midst of Heaven—darkness, clouds and mist.
12 “And the LORD spoke to you out of the midst of the fire. You heard the Voice of the words but saw no Image, only the Voice.
13 “Then He declared to you His Covenant, which He Commanded you to do—The Ten Commandments—and wrote them upon two Tablets of stone.
14 “And the LORD Commanded me at that same time that I should teach you Ordinances and Laws, which you should observe in the land to which you go to possess.
15 “Therefore, take good heed to yourselves (for you saw no image on the day that the LORD spoke to you in Horeb, out of the midst of the fire)
16 “so that you do not corrupt yourselves and make yourself a graven image or representation of any figure (the likeness of male or female,
17 “the likeness of any beast that is on Earth, the likeness of any feathered fowl that flies in the air,
18 “the likeness of anything that creeps on the Earth, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the Earth)
19 “and lest you lift up your eyes to Heaven, and when you see the Sun and the Moon and the stars with all the host of Heaven, be driven to worship them and serve them which the LORD your God has distributed to all people under the whole Heaven.
20 “But the LORD has taken you and brought you out of the iron furnace, out of Egypt, to be to Him a people and inheritance, as it is this day.
21 “And the LORD was angry with me for your words and swore that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in to that good land which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance.
22 “For I must die in this land and shall not go over Jordan. But you shall go over and possess that good land.
23 “Guard yourselves, lest you forget the Covenant of the LORD your God which He made with you, and you make any graven image or likeness of anything, as the LORD your God has charged you.
24 “For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.
25 “When you shall bear children and children’s children and shall have remained long in the land, if you corrupt yourselves and make any graven image out of anything and work evil in the sight of the LORD your God, to provoke Him to anger,
26 “I call Heaven and Earth to record against you this day, that you shall shortly perish from the land to which you go over Jordan to possess. You shall not prolong your days there, but shall be utterly destroyed.
27 “And the LORD shall scatter you among the people. And you shall be left few in number among the nations where the LORD shall bring you.
28 “And there you shall serve gods, the work of man’s hand—wood and stone—which neither see nor hear nor eat nor smell.
29 “But if, from then on, you shall seek the LORD your God, you shall find Him. If you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
30 “When you are in tribulation, and all these things have come upon you, at the end of the day, if you return to the LORD your God and be obedient to His Voice,
31 “(for the LORD your God is a merciful God) He will not forsake you or destroy you or forget the Covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.
32 “For inquire now about the days that are past, which were before you, since the day that God created man upon the Earth, and whether there has been as great a thing as this from the one end of Heaven to the other, or whether anything like this has been heard.
33 “Did people ever hear the Voice of God speaking out of the midst of a fire, as you have heard, and lived?
34 “Or has God attempted to go and take a nation for Himself from among nations—by temptations, by signs, by wonders, by war, by a mighty Hand, by an outstretched Arm, and by great fear—according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?
35 “To you it was shown, so that you might know that the LORD He is God, that there is none but He alone.
36 “Out of Heaven He made you hear His Voice to instruct you. And upon Earth He showed you His great fire. And you heard His Voice out of the midst of the fire.
37 “And because He loved your fathers, He therefore chose their seed after them. And He has brought you out of Egypt in His sight, by His mighty power,
38 “to thrust out from before you nations greater and mightier than you, to bring you in, to give you their land for inheritance, as it happens this day.
39 “Understand, therefore, this day, and consider in your heart that the LORD Himself is God in Heaven above, and upon the Earth beneath. There is no other.
40 “You shall therefore keep His Ordinances and His Commandments which I command you this day, so that it may go well with you and with your children after you and that you may prolong your days upon the Earth which the LORD your God gives you forever.”
41 Then Moses separated three cities on this side of the Jordan, toward the rising Sun,
42 so that the slayer who had killed his neighbor unintentionally, and had not hated him in the past, could flee from there. That is to say, he might flee to one of these cities and live:
43 Bezer in the wilderness in the plain country of the Reubenites, Ramoth in Gilead among the Gadites, and Golan in Bashan, among those of Manasseh.
44 So this is the Law which Moses set before the children of Israel.
45 These are the witnesses and the Ordinances and the Laws which Moses declared to the children of Israel after they came out of Egypt.
46 On this side of Jordan, in the valley next to Beth Peor, in the land of Sihon, King of the Amorites (who dwelt at Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel killed, after they had come out of Egypt).
47 And they possessed his land and the land of Og, king of Bashan (two kings of the Amorites who were on this side of the Jordan, toward the rising Sun):
48 from Aroer, which is by the bank of the river Arnon, to mount Sion (which is Hermon),
49 and all the plain (from Jordan, eastward to the sea of the plain, under the springs of Pisgah).
86 Bow down Your ear, O LORD, and hear me; for I am poor and needy.
2 Preserve my soul, for I am merciful. My God, save Your servant who trusts in You.
3 Be merciful to me, O LORD, for I cry upon You continually.
4 Rejoice the soul of Your servant. For to You, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.
5 For You, LORD, are good and merciful and of great kindness to all those who call upon You.
6 Give ear, LORD, to my prayer and pay attention to the voice of my supplication.
7 In the day of my trouble, I will call upon You; for You hear me.
8 Among the gods there is none like You, O LORD; and there are none like Your works.
9 All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O LORD, and shall glorify Your Name.
10 For You are great and do wondrous things. You are God, alone.
11 Teach me Your way, O LORD, and I will walk in Your truth. Knit my heart to You, so that I may fear Your Name.
12 I will praise You, O LORD my God, with all my heart. Indeed, I will glorify Your Name forever.
13 For great is Your mercy toward me; and You have delivered my soul from the lowest grave.
14 O God, the proud have risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought my soul and have not set You before them.
15 But You, O LORD, are a pitying God, and merciful, slow to anger and great in kindness and truth.
16 Turn to me and have mercy upon me. Give Your strength to Your servant and save the son of Your handmaid.
17 Show a sign of goodness toward me, so that those who hate me may see it and be ashamed; because You, O LORD, have helped me and comforted me. A Psalm, or song, committed to the sons of Korah
87 God laid His foundations among the holy mountains.
2 The LORD loves the gates of Zion above all the habitations of Jacob.
3 Glorious things are spoken of You, O City of God! Selah.
4 I will make mention of Rahab and Babel among those who know me. Behold Palestine and Tyre with Ethiopia. There He is born.
5 And it shall be said of Zion, “Many are born in her; and He, the Most High, shall establish her.”
6 The LORD shall count, when He writes the people, “He was born there.” Selah.
7 Both the singers and the players on instruments shall praise You, “All my springs are in You.” A song, or Psalm, of Heman the Ezrahite, to give instruction; committed to the sons of Korah for him who excels upon Mahalath Leannoth
32 Behold, a King shall reign in justice, and the princes shall rule in judgment.
2 A man shall be like a hiding place from the wind, and a refuge from the storm, as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
3 The eyes of the seeing shall not be shut, and the ears of those who hear, shall listen.
4 And the heart of the foolish shall understand knowledge. And the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak distinctly.
5 No more shall a foolish person be called noble, nor the scoundrel generous.
6 But the fool will speak foolishness, and his heart will work iniquity, and do wickedly, and speak falsely against the LORD, to make the hungry soul empty, and to cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.
7 For the weapons of the scoundrel are wicked. He devises wicked counsels to undo the poor with lying words, and to speak against the poor in judgment.
8 But the generous man will devise generous things. And he will continue his generosity.
9 Rise up you women who are at ease! Hear my voice, you careless daughters! Listen to my words!
10 For many days and years, you women who are careless shall be in fear. For the vintage shall fail, and the harvests shall come no more.
11 Be astonished, you women who are at ease! Fear, O you careless women! Take off your clothes. Make yourselves bare and gird sackcloth upon your loins.
12 Men shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant fields and for the fruitful vine.
13 Upon the land of my people shall grow thorns and briers —yea, upon all the houses of joy —in the city of rejoicing.
14 Because the palace shall be forsaken, the noise of the city shall be left. The tower and fortress shall be caves forever —the delight of wild donkeys and a pasture for flocks —
15 until the Spirit is poured upon us from above and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the plenteous field is counted as a forest.
16 And judgment shall dwell in the desert. And justice shall remain in the fruitful field.
17 And the work of justice shall be peace, even the work of justice and quietness and assurance, forever.
18 And my people shall dwell in the tabernacle of peace, and in sure dwellings, and in safe resting places.
19 When it hails, it shall fall on the forest. And the city shall be humiliated.
20 Blessed are you who sow upon all waters and drive the feet of the ox and the donkey.
2 “To the angel of the Church of Ephesus, write these things:” says He Who holds the seven stars in His right hand and walks in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks.
2 “I know your works, and your labor, and your patience. And how you cannot bear with those who are evil; and have examined those who say they are Apostles and are not and have found them liars.
3 “And you were burdened and had patience; and for my Name’s sake have labored and have not fainted.
4 “Nevertheless, I have somewhat against you, because you have left your first love.
5 “Remember therefore from where you have fallen. And repent and do the works you did at first. Or else I will come against you shortly and will remove your candlestick out of its place unless you repent.
6 “But this you have: that you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
7 “Let him who has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the Churches, ‘To him who overcomes will I give to eat of the Tree of Life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.’
8 “And to the angel of the Church of the Smyrnians write: ‘These things says He who is first and last, Who was dead and is alive:
9 “I know your works and tribulation and poverty. But you are rich. And I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not but are the synagogue of Satan.
10 “Fear none of those things which you shall suffer. Behold, it shall come to pass that the devil shall cast some of you into prison, so that you may be tried. And you shall have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful to the death, and I will give you the crown of life.’
11 “Let he who has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. He that overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.
12 “And to the angel of the Church which is at Pergamos write: ‘Thus says He Who has that sharp sword with two edges,
13 ‘I know your works, and where you dwell, even where Satan’s throne is. And you keep My Name, and have not denied My faith; even in those days when Antipas, My faithful martyr, was slain among you where Satan dwells.
14 “But I have a few things against you because you have those there who maintain the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel so that they would eat of things sacrificed to idols and commit fornication.
15 Even so, you have those who maintain the doctrine of the Nicolaitans (which I hate).
16 Repent, or else I will come to you shortly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.
17 “Let he who has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the Churches. To him who overcomes, I will give to eat of the manna that is hidden; and will give him a white stone; and in the stone a new name written, which no one knows except he who receives it.
18 “And to the angel of the Church which is at Thyatira write: ‘These things says the Son of God, Who has eyes like a flame of fire, and feet like fine brass.
19 ‘I know your works and your love, and service and faith, and your patience; and that the works of those at the last are more than those at the first.
20 ‘Notwithstanding, I have a few things against you: that you put up with the woman, Jezebel. She calls herself a prophetess; to teach and to deceive my servants, to make them commit fornication, and to eat meat sacrificed to idols.
21 ‘And I gave her space to repent of her fornication, and she did not repent.
22 ‘Behold, I will cast her into a bed - and those who commit fornication with her into great affliction - unless they repent of their works.
23 ‘And I will kill her children with death. And all the Churches shall know that I am He who searches the deepest motives and hearts. And I will give to every one of you according to your works.
24 ‘And to you I say, ‘The rest of them of Thyatira, as many as have not received this learning, nor have known the deepness of Satan (as they speak), I will put upon you no other burden.
25 But to that which you have already, hold fast till I come.
26 ‘For he who overcomes and keeps My words to the end, to him I will give power over nations.
27 ‘And he shall rule them with a rod of iron. And as the vessels of a potter, shall they be broken.
28 ‘Even as I received from My Father, so will I give him the Morning Star.
29 ‘Let he who has an ear, hear what the Spirit says to the Churches.’”
