M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
2 “Then we turned and took our journey into the wilderness, by way of the Red Sea, as the LORD spoke to me. And we encircled Mount Seir a long time.
2 “And the LORD spoke to me, saying,
3 ‘You have encircled this mountain long enough. Turn northward
4 ‘and warn the people, saying, “You shall go through the coast of your brothers, the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir.” And they shall be afraid of you. Be very careful, therefore.
5 ‘You shall not provoke them. For I will not give you so much as a footstep of their land, because I have given Mount Seir to Esau for a possession.
6 ‘You shall buy meat from them, for money to eat. And you shall also procure water from them, for money to drink.
7 ‘For the LORD your God has blessed you in all the works of your hand. He knows your comings and goings through this great wilderness. And the LORD your God has been with you these forty years. You have lacked nothing.’
8 “And when we had departed from our brothers, the children of Esau (who dwelt in Seir, by way of the plain, from Elath and from Ezion Geber) we turned and went by way of the wilderness of Moab.
9 “Then the LORD said to me, ‘You shall not besiege Moab or provoke them to battle. For I will not give you their land for a possession because I have given Ar to the children of Lot for a possession.
10 ‘The Emims — a people great and many, and tall — dwelt there in times past, as the Anakims did.
11 ‘Those whom the Moabites call Emims were also called “giants”, as the Anakims were.
12 ‘The Horites also dwelt in Seir before time. The children of Esau chased them out and destroyed them from before them and dwelt in their place, as Israel shall do to the land of its possession (which the LORD has given them).
13 ‘Now rise up and get over the river Zered.’ And we went over the river Zered.
14 “And the time it took to go from Kadesh Barnea until we had come over the river Zered was thirty-eight years, until all the generation of the men of war were consumed from among the army, as the LORD swore to them.
15 “For indeed the hand of the LORD was against them, to destroy them from among the army, until they were consumed.
16 “So, when all the men of war were consumed and dead from among the people,
17 “then the LORD spoke to me, saying,
18 ‘You shall go through Ar (the coast of Moab) this day.
19 ‘And you shall come near the children of Ammon, but shall not lay siege to them, nor move war against them. For I will not give you possession of the land of the children of Ammon. For I have given it to the children of Lot for a possession,
20 ‘that also was taken for a land of giants. Giants dwelt there previously, whom the Ammonites called Zamzummims,
21 ‘a great people, and many, and tall as the Anakims.’ But the LORD destroyed them before them. And they succeeded them in their inheritance and dwelt in their place.
22 ‘He also did so to the children of Esau (who dwell in Seir) when he destroyed the Horites before them. And they dispossessed them and have dwelt in their place until this day,
23 ‘And the Avim (who dwelt from Hazarim to Azzah) and the Caphtorims (who came out of Caphtor) destroyed them and dwelt in their place.
24 ‘Rise up! Take your journey and pass over the river Arnon. Behold, I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land. Begin to possess it and provoke him to battle.
25 ‘This day I will begin to send your fear and your dread upon all people under the whole heaven, who shall hear your fame and shall tremble and quake before you.
26 ‘Then I sent messengers out of the wilderness of Kedemoth to Sihon, king of Heshbon, with words of peace, saying,
27 “Let me pass through your land. I will go by the highway. I will not turn to the right or to the left.
28 “You shall sell me meat for money (so that I may eat) and shall give me water for money (so that I may drink). Only, I will go through on foot,
29 “as the children of Esau (who dwell in Seir) and the Moabites (who dwell in Ar) did to me until I had come over Jordan, into the land which the LORD our God gave us.”’
30 “But Sihon, the King of Heshbon, would not let us pass by him. For the LORD your God had hardened His Spirit, and made his heart obstinate, because he would deliver him into your hand, as it is this day.
31 “And the LORD said to me, ‘Behold, I have begun to give Sihon and his land before you. Begin to possess and inherit his land.’
32 “Then Sihon came out to meet us (himself with all his people) to fight at Jahaz.
33 “But the LORD our God delivered him into our power. And we struck him and his sons and all his people.
34 “And we took all his cities at the same time and destroyed every city—men and women and children. We let nothing remain.
35 “We only took the cattle for ourselves, plus the spoil of the cities which we took,
36 “from Aroer (which is by the bank of the river of Arnon) to the city that is upon the river, all the way to Gilead. There was not one city that escaped us. The LORD our God delivered them all up before us.
37 “Only to the land of the children of Ammon did you not come, nor to any place on the river Jabbok, nor to the cities in the mountains, nor to whatever the LORD our God forbade us.”
83 Do not keep silent, O God. Do not be still, and do not cease, O God.
2 For lo, Your enemies murmur and those who hate You have lifted up the head.
3 They have taken crafty counsel against Your people and have consulted against Your treasured ones.
4 They have said, “Come and let us cut them off from being a nation. And let the name of Israel be in remembrance no more.”
5 For they have consulted together in heart and have made a league against You:
6 the tabernacles of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagarites,
7 Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre.
8 Assyria has also joined with them. They have been an arm to the children of Lot. Selah.
9 Do to them as to the Midianites, as to Sisera and as to Jabin at the river of Kishon.
10 They perished at En Dor and were dung for the Earth.
11 Make them—even their princes like Oreb and like Zeeb (indeed, all their princes like Zebah and like Zalmunna
12 who have said, “Let us take for our possession the habitations of God)—
13 O, my God, make them like a wheel and as the stubble before the wind.
14 As the fire burns the forest, and as the flame sets the mountains on fire,
15 so persecute them with Your tempest and make them afraid with Your storm.
16 Fill their faces with shame, so that they may seek Your Name, O LORD.
17 Let them be confounded and troubled forever. Indeed, let them be put to shame and perish,
18 so that they may know that You, Who are called JEHOVAH, are alone, the Most High over all the Earth. To him who excels upon Gittith: A Psalm committed to the sons of Korah
84 O LORD of Hosts, how lovely are Your Tabernacles!
2 My soul longs, indeed, and fainted for the courts of the LORD! My heart and my flesh rejoice in the living God!
3 Indeed, the sparrow has found a house, and the swallow a nest for her; where she may lay her young by Your altars, O LORD of Hosts, my King and my God.
4 Blessed are those who dwell in Your House. They will ever praise You. Selah.
5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, in whose heart are Your ways.
6 They, going through the valley of Baca, make wells therein. The rain also covers the pools.
7 They go from strength to strength, until every one appears before God in Zion.
8 O, LORD God of Hosts, hear my prayer! Give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah.
9 Behold, O God Our Shield, and look upon the face of Your Anointed.
10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the House of my God than to dwell in the tabernacles of wickedness.
11 For the LORD God is the Sun and Shield. The LORD will give grace and glory; and He will withhold no good thing from those who walk uprightly.
12 O, LORD of Hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You. To him who excels: A Psalm committed to the sons of Korah
30 “Woe to the rebellious children,” says the LORD, “who take counsel, but not from Me, and cover with a covering, but not by My Spirit, so that they may lay sin upon sin.
2 “They walk forth to go down into Egypt to strengthen themselves with the strength of Pharaoh and trust in the shadow of Egypt and have not asked from My Mouth.
3 “But the strength of Pharaoh shall be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.
4 “For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.
5 “They shall all be ashamed of the people who cannot profit them or help or do them good but are a shame and a reproach.”
6 The burden of the beasts of the South: In a land of trouble and anguish—from where comes the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent—they shall bear their riches upon the shoulders of the colts, and their treasures upon the bunches of the camels, to a people that cannot profit.
7 “For the Egyptians are purposeless, and they shall help in vain. Therefore I have cried to her. Their strength is to sit still.
8 “Now go. Write it before them on a tablet, and note it in a Book, so that it may be for the last day, forever and ever,
9 “that it is a rebellious people, lying children, children that would not hear the Law of the LORD.
10 “They say to the Seers, ‘Do not see,’ and to the Prophets, ‘Do not Prophesy to us right things. Speak flattering things to us. Prophesy errors.
11 “‘Depart out of the way. Go aside out of the path. Cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from us.’”
12 Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel, “Because you have cast off this Word, and trust in violence, and wickedness, and stay thereupon,
13 “therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach that falls, a swelling in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly in a moment.
14 “And its breaking is like the breaking of a potter’s pot, which is broken without pity. And in its breaking, there is not found a shard to take fire out of the hearth, or to take water out of the cistern.”
15 For thus said the LORD God, the Holy One of Israel, “In rest and quietness shall you be saved. Your strength shall be in quietness and in confidence.” But you would not.
16 For you have said, “No, but we will flee away upon horses!” Therefore, shall you flee. “We will ride upon the swiftest!” Therefore, your persecutors shall be swifter.
17 A thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one. At the rebuke of five shall you flee, till you are left as a ship mast upon the top of a mountain, and as a beacon upon a hill.
18 And, therefore, the LORD will wait, so that He may have mercy upon you. And, therefore, He will be exalted, so that He may have compassion upon you. For the LORD is the God of Judgment. Blessed are all those who wait for Him.
19 Surely a people shall dwell in Zion. In Jerusalem, you shall weep no more. He will certainly have mercy upon you at the voice of your cry. When He hears you, He will answer you.
20 And when the LORD has given you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, your rain shall be kept back no more. But your eyes shall see your rain.
21 And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left.
22 And you shall pollute the covering of the images of silver, and the rich ornament of your images of gold, and cast them away as a menstruous cloth. And you shall say to it, “Get away!”
23 Then He shall give rain to your seed when you shall sow the ground, and bread from the increase of the Earth. And it shall be fat and rich. On that day, your cattle shall be fed in large pastures.
24 The oxen, also, and the young donkeys that till the ground shall eat clean fodder, which is winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.
25 And upon every high mountain and upon every high hill there shall be rivers, streams of waters, on the day of the great slaughter, when the towers shall fall.
26 Moreover, the light of the Moon shall be as the light of the Sun. And the light of the Sun shall be sevenfold, and like the light of seven days, on the day that the LORD shall bind up the breach of His people and heal the stroke of their wound.
27 Behold, the Name of the LORD comes from afar. His Face is burning, and its burden heavy. His Lips are full of indignation, and His Tongue as a devouring fire.
28 and His Spirit as a river that overflows up to the neck. It divides apart, to fan the nations with the fan of frivolity. And there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people that causes them to err.
29 There shall be a song to you, as in the night (when a solemn Feast is kept), and gladness of heart, as he who comes with a flute to go to the Mount of the LORD, to the Mighty One of Israel.
30 And the LORD shall cause His glorious Voice to be heard and shall declare the descent of His Arm with the anger of His Countenance, and flame of a devouring fire, with scattering and tempest and hailstones.
31 For with the Voice of the LORD shall Assyria be destroyed, who struck with the rod.
32 And in every place of punishment that the staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, there will be tambourines and harps. And in brandishing battles, He shall fight against it.
33 For Tophet is prepared of old. It is even prepared for the king. He has made it deep and large. It burns with fire and much wood. The breath of the LORD, like a river of brimstone, kindles it.
1 Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James, To those who are called and sanctified by God the Father, and reserved to Jesus Christ:
2 Mercy to you, and peace and love be multiplied.
3 Beloved, while I diligently wrote to you of the common salvation, it became necessary for me to write to you in exhortation, so that you would earnestly contend for the faith which was once and for all given to the saints.
4 For some men have crept in who were long ago pre-ordained to this condemnation; ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into debauchery, and deny God, the only Lord and our Lord Jesus Christ.
5 Therefore, I will remind you (since you once knew this) how that the Lord - after He had delivered the people out of Egypt - destroyed those afterward who did not believe.
6 Also, the angels who did not keep their first estate - but left their own habitation - He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness until the judgment of the great Day;
7 as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them which committed fornication and followed strange flesh in the same way they did are set forth as an example and suffer the vengeance of eternal fire.
8 Likewise also, these dreamers defile the flesh and despise government and speak evil of those who are in authority.
9 Yet Michael, the archangel, when he strove against the devil and disputed about the body of Moses, did not dare speak evil against him, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”
10 But these speak evil of those things which they do not know. And whatever things they know naturally (as beasts which are without reason), in those things they corrupt themselves.
11 Woe to them! For they have followed the way of Cain and are cast away by the deceit of Balaam’s wages, and perish in the rebellion of Korah!
12 These are reefs in your feasts of charity; feasting with you, shamelessly feeding themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by winds; corrupt trees without fruit, twice dead and plucked up by the roots.
13 They are the raging waves of the sea, foaming forth their own disgrace. They are wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.
14 And Enoch also - the seventh from Adam - prophesied of such, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with thousands of his saints
15 to give judgment against all, and to rebuke all the ungodly among them of all their wicked deeds which they have ungodly committed; and of all their cruel speech which wicked sinners have spoken against Him.”
16 These are murmurers, complainers (walking after their own lusts), whose mouths speak proud things; admiring others for the sake of advantage.
17 But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the Apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
18 how that they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19 These are those who cause division from others; bestial, not having the Spirit.
20 But you, beloved, edify yourselves in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.
21 And keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, unto eternal life.
22 And have compassion on some, making distinctions.
23 But save others with fear, pulling them out of the fire. And hate even the garment which is defiled by the flesh.
24 Now to Him Who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His Glory, with joy;
25 to God - only wise, our Savior - be glory and majesty and dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.
