Numbers 7

Now when Moses had finished setting up the Tabernacle, and anointed it and sanctified it and all its instruments, and the Altar with all its instruments, and had anointed them, and sanctified them,

then the Princes of Israel, heads over the Houses of their fathers (they were the Princes of the tribes, who were over those who were numbered), offered

and brought an offering before the LORD of six covered chariots and twelve oxen (one chariot for every two Princes, and for every Prince an ox). and they offered them before the Tabernacle.

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

“Take them, that they may be to do the service of the Tabernacle of the Congregation. And you shall give them to the Levites, to every man according to his office.”

So Moses took the chariots and the oxen and gave them to the Levites.

Psalm 42-43

42 As the deer brays for the rivers of water, so panted my soul after You, O God.

My soul thirsts for God, even for the living God. When shall I come and appear before the presence of God?

My tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me daily, “Where is your God?”

When I remembered these things, I poured out my very heart; because I had gone with the multitude and led them into the House of God with the voice of singing and praise, as a multitude that keeps a feast.

Why are you cast down, my soul, and unquiet within me? Wait on God; for I will still give Him thanks for the help of His presence.

My God, my soul is cast down within me because I remembered You from the land of Jordan, and Hermon, and from the Mount Mizar.

One deep calls another deep by the noise of Your waterspouts. All Your waves and Your floods have gone over me.

The LORD will grant His lovingkindness in the day; and in the night shall I sing of Him a prayer to the God of my life.

I will say to God, my Rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning when the enemy oppresses?”

10 As a sword shattering my bones, my enemies reproach me, saying daily to me, “Where is your God?”

11 Why are you cast down, my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Wait on God. For I will yet give thanks to Him, to the Face of my Deliverer and my God.

43 Judge me, O God, and defend my cause against the unmerciful people. Deliver me from the deceitful and wicked man.

For You are the God of my strength. Why have You put me away? Why do I go so mourning when the enemy oppressed me?

Send Your light and Your truth. Let them lead me. Let them bring me to Your Holy Mountain, and to Your Tabernacles.

Then I will go to the altar of God, even to the God of my joy and gladness. And upon the harp will I give thanks to You, O God, my God.

Why are You cast down, my soul? And why are You disquieted within me? Wait on God; for I will still give Him thanks, my present help and my God. To him who excels: A Psalm to give instruction, committed to the sons of Korah.

Song of Solomon 5

“I have come into my garden, my sister, my spouse, I gathered my myrrh with my spice. I ate my honeycomb with my honey, I drank my wine with my milk: eat, O friends, drink, and make you merry, O well-beloved.”

“I sleep, but my heart wakes. It is the voice of my well-beloved who knocks, saying, ‘Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled. For my head is full of dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.’

“I have taken off my garment, how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet. How shall I soil them?

“My well-beloved put in his hand by the opening, and my core was moved toward him.

“I rose up to open to my well-beloved, and my hands did drop down myrrh, and my fingers pure myrrh, upon the handles of the bolt.

“I opened to my well-beloved, but my well-beloved had turned away and was gone. My heart failed when he spoke. I sought him, but I could not find him. I called him, but he did not answer me.

“The watchmen who were around the city found me. They struck me and wounded me. The watchmen of the walls took away my veil from me.

“I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if you find my well-beloved, that you tell him that I am lovesick!”

“O the fairest among women! What is your well-beloved more than other well-beloved? What is your well-beloved more than another lover, that you so charge us?”

10 “My well-beloved is white and ruddy, chief among ten thousand.

11 “His head is as fine gold, his locks curled and black as a raven.

12 “His eyes are like doves upon the rivers of waters, washed with milk and fittingly set.

13 “His cheeks are as a bed of spices, as sweet flowers, and his lips like lilies dropping down pure myrrh.

14 “His hands are as rings of gold set with the chrysolite, his belly like white ivory covered with sapphires.

15 “His legs are as pillars of marble set upon sockets of fine gold, his face as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars.

16 “His mouth is as sweet things, and he is wholly delectable. This is my well-beloved, and this is my lover, O daughters of Jerusalem!”

17 “O fairest among women! Where has your well-beloved gone? Where has your well-beloved turned aside, so that we may seek him with you?”

Hebrews 5

For every High Priest is taken from among man (and is ordained for man, in things pertaining to God), so that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.

He is able to have compassion on the ignorant and the wayward, because he also is encompassed by infirmity.

And for the same reason he must also offer for his own sins as well as for the people’s.

And no man takes this honor for himself, but rather he who is called by God (as was Aaron).

So likewise, Christ did not take this honor for Himself (to be made the High Priest), but He Who said to Him, “You are My Son. This day I begat You”.

As He also, in another place states, “You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek”,

Who, in the days of his flesh, offered up prayers and supplications (with strong crying and tears) to Him Who was able to save him from death. And He was heard because he feared.

And though He was the Son, he still learned obedience by the things which he suffered.

And being consecrated, He was made the Author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.

10 And He is called by God “A High Priest after the order of Melchizedek”,

11 of Whom we have many things to say which are hard to understand because you are dull of hearing.

12 For though you ought to be teachers by this time, once again you need us to teach you the first principles of the Word of God, still having need of milk, and not solid food.

13 For everyone who uses milk is ignorant of the Word of righteousness. For he is an infant.

14 But solid food belongs to those who are of age; who through long practice have their wits exercised to discern both good and evil.
