Exodus 15

15 Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD, and spoke, saying, “I will sing to the LORD. For He has triumphed gloriously! The horse, and he who rode upon him, He has overthrown in the sea!

“The LORD is my strength and praise; and He has become my salvation. He is my God; and I will prepare a tabernacle for Him. He is my father’s God; and I will exalt Him.

“The LORD is a man of war. His Name is Jehovah.

“He has cast Pharaoh’s chariots and his army into the sea. His chosen captains were also drowned in the Red Sea.

“The depths have covered them. They sank to the bottom, as a stone.

“Your right hand, O LORD, is glorious in power. Your right hand, O LORD, has bruised the enemy.

“And in Your great Glory You have overthrown those who rose against You. You sent forth Your wrath, which consumed them as stubble.

“And by the blast of Your nostrils the waters were gathered. The floods stood still as a heap. The depths congealed together in the heart of the sea.

“The enemy said, ‘I will pursue! I will overtake them! I will divide the spoil! My lust shall be satisfied by them. I will draw my sword. My hand shall destroy them!’

10 “You blew with Your wind. The sea covered them; they sank as lead in the mighty waters.

11 “Who is like You, O LORD, among the gods! Who is like You—glorious in holiness, fearful in praises—doing wonders!

12 “You stretched out Your right hand. The Earth swallowed them.

13 “You will, by Your mercy, carry this people whom You delivered. In Your strength, You will bring them to Your holy habitation.

14 “The people shall hear and be afraid. Sorrow shall come upon the inhabitants of Philistia.

15 “Then the princes of Edom shall be amazed; and trembling shall come upon the great men of Moab. All the inhabitants of Canaan shall grow faint- hearted.

16 “Fear and dread shall fall upon them. Because of the greatness of Your arm, they shall be still as a stone until Your people pass, O LORD, until this people pass whom You have purchased.

17 “You shall bring them in and plant them on the mountain of Your inheritance, O LORD. You have prepared the dwelling place, O LORD, the sanctuary Your hands shall establish.

18 “The LORD shall reign forever and ever!”

19 For Pharaoh’s horses went, with his chariots and horsemen, into the sea; and the LORD brought the waters of the sea upon them. But the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.

20 And Miriam the Prophetess, sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women came out after her, with timbrels and dances.

21 And Miriam answered the men, “Sing to the LORD! For He has triumphed gloriously! He has overthrown the horse and his rider in the sea!”

22 Then Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur. And they went three days in the wilderness and found no water.

23 And when they came to Marah, they could not drink from the water of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore, the name of the place was called “Marah”.

24 Then the people murmured against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?”

25 And he cried to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a tree. When he cast into the waters, the waters became sweet. There He made an ordinance and a law to them; and there He tested them,

26 and said, “If you will diligently listen to the voice of the LORD, Your God, and will do that which is right in His sight, and will hear His Commandments, and keep all His Ordinances, then I will bring none of these diseases upon you which I brought upon the Egyptians. For I am the LORD Who heals you.”

27 And they came to Elim, where there were twelve fountains of water and seventy palm trees, and they camped there by the waters.

Luke 18

18 And He also spoke a parable to them showing that they ought always to pray and not grow weary,

He said, “There was a judge in a certain city who neither feared God nor respected man.

“And there was a widow in that city who came to him saying, ‘Do me justice against my adversary.’

“And he would not do so for some time. But then, he said to himself, ‘I neither fear God nor respect man.

‘Yet because this widow troubles me I will do her right, lest she keeps coming and makes me weary.’”

And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge says.

“Now, shall not God avenge His Elect, who cry day and night to Him, even though He bears with them a long time?

“I tell you, He will avenge them quickly! But, when the Son of Man comes, shall He find faith on the Earth?”

He also spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves (that they were just) and despised others.

10 “Two men went up into the Temple to pray - the one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.

11 “The Pharisee stood and prayed to himself like this: ‘O God, I thank You that I am not as other men - extortioners, unjust, adulterers - or even as this tax collector.

12 ‘I fast twice a week. I give tithe of all that ever I possess.’

13 “But the tax collector, standing at a distance, would not lift up so much as his eyes to Heaven. But he struck his breast, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, a sinner.’

14 “I tell you, this man departed to his house more justified than the other. For everyone who exalts himself shall be brought low. And the one who humbles himself shall be exalted.”

15 They also brought little children to Him, so that He could touch them. And when His disciples saw it, they rebuked them.

16 But Jesus called them to Him, and said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them. For of such is the Kingdom of God.

17 “Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God as a little child, shall not enter therein.”

18 Then a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Master, what ought I to do to inherit eternal life?”

19 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except One - God.

20 “You know the Commandments, ‘You shall not commit adultery. You shall not kill. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness. Honor your father and your mother.”

21 And he said, “All these have I kept from my youth!”

22 Now when Jesus heard that, He said to him, “Still, you lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor. And you shall have treasure in Heaven. And come follow Me.”

23 But when he heard those things, he was very sorrowful. For he was very rich.

24 And when Jesus saw he was very sorrowful, He said, “How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into the Kingdom of God!

25 “Surely it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God.”

26 Then those who heard it said, “And who then shall be saved?”

27 And He said, “The things which are impossible with man are possible with God.”

28 Then Peter said, “Lo, we have left all and have followed You.”

29 And He said to them, “Truly I say to you there is no one who has left house, or parents, or brothers, or wife, or children, for the Kingdom of God’s sake,

30 “who shall not receive much more in this world - and in the world to come, eternal life.”

31 Then Jesus took the twelve to Him and said to them, “Behold, we go up to Jerusalem. And all things that are written of the Son of Man by the Prophets shall be fulfilled.

32 “For He shall be delivered to the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and shall be mistreated, and shall be spit upon.

33 “And when they have scourged Him, they will put Him to death. But the third day He shall rise again.”

34 But they understood none of these things. And this saying was hidden from them. Nor did they perceive the things which were spoken.

35 And it happened that as He came near to Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the wayside, begging.

36 And when he heard the people pass by, he asked what it meant.

37 And they said to him that Jesus of Nazareth passed by.

38 Then he cried, saying, “Jesus, the Son of David! Have mercy on me!”

39 And those who went before ordered him to be quiet. But he cried much more, “O, Son of David! Have mercy on me!”

40 And Jesus stood still. And He commanded him to be brought to Him. And when he had come near, He asked him,

41 saying, “What would you have Me do for you?” And he said, “Lord, that I may receive my sight.”

42 And Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight. Your faith has saved you.

43 Then immediately he received his sight and followed Him, praising God. And all the people, when they saw, gave praise to God.

Job 33

33 “Therefore, Job, please hear my talk and listen to all my words.

“Behold, now, I have opened my mouth. My tongue has spoken in my mouth.

“My words are in the uprightness of my heart. And my lips shall speak pure knowledge.

“The Spirit of God has made me. And the breath of the Almighty has given me life.

“If you can give me an answer, prepare yourself. Stand before me.

“Behold, I am as your mouth before God. I am also formed from the clay.

“Behold, my terror shall not scare you, nor shall my hand be heavy upon you.

“Doubtless you have spoken in my ears, and I have heard the voice of your words.

“I am clean, without sin. I am innocent and there is no iniquity in me.

10 “Lo, He has found occasions against me, and counted me for His enemy.

11 “He has put my feet in the stocks, and looks narrowly to all my paths.

12 “Behold, in this you have not done right. I will answer you, for God is greater than man.

13 “Why do you strive against Him? For He does not give account of all His matters.

14 “For God speaks once or twice, and one does not see it.

15 “In dreams and visions of the night, when sleep falls upon men, and they sleep upon beds,

16 “then He opens the ears of men, even by their corrections which He had sealed,

17 “so that He might cause man to turn away from his enterprise, and that He might hide the pride of man,

18 “and keep back his soul from the pit, and that his life should not pass by the sword.

19 “He is also stricken with sorrow upon his bed, and the grief of his bones is great,

20 “so that his life causes him to abhor bread, and his soul desirable food.

21 “His flesh fails, so that it cannot be seen. And his bones, which were not seen, clatter.

22 “So his soul draws to the grave, and his life to the executioner.

23 “If there is a messenger with him, an interpreter, one of a thousand to declare to man his righteousness,

24 “then He will have mercy upon him, and will say, ‘Deliver him, so that he does not go down into the pit. For I have received a reconciliation.’

25 “Then shall his flesh be as fresh as a child’s, and shall return as in the days of his youth.

26 “He shall pray to God, and he will be favorable to Him, and he shall see His Face with joy. For He will render to man His righteousness.

27 “He looks upon men. And if one says, ‘I have sinned, and perverted righteousness, and it did not profit me,’

28 “He will deliver his soul from going into the pit. And his life shall see the light.

29 “Lo, all these things will God work twice or three times with a man,

30 “so that He may turn back his soul from the pit, to be illuminated in the light of the living.

31 “Mark well, O Job. Hear me! Keep silent, and I will speak.

32 “If there is something, answer me, and speak. For I desire to justify you.

33 “If you have nothing, hear me. Hold your tongue, and I will teach you wisdom.”

2 Corinthians 3

Do we begin to praise ourselves again? Or do we need, as some others, letters of recommendation to you, or of recommendation from you?

You are our letter, written in our hearts, which is understood and read by all mankind;

in that you appear to be the letter of Christ, ministered by us, and written, not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not on tablets of stone, but on fleshly tablets of the heart.

And such trust we have through Christ toward God.

Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to think anything of ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God,

Who has also made us able ministers of the New Testament - not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

If then, the ministry of death (written with letters and engraved in stones) was glorious; so that the children of Israel could not behold the face of Moses because of the Glory of his countenance (a Glory which has gone away),

how shall not the ministry of the Spirit be more glorious?

For if the ministry of condemnation was glorious, the ministry of righteousness much more exceeds it in glory.

10 For even that which was glorified was not glorified in this point: that is, regarding the exceeding glory.

11 For if that which is abolished was glorious, much more so shall that which remains be glorious.

12 Seeing then that we have such trust, we use great boldness of speech.

13 And we are not as Moses, who put a veil upon his face so that the children of Israel would not look intently into the end of that which would be abolished.

14 But their minds were hardened. For until this day remains the same covering in the reading of the old Testament, which veil is put away in Christ.

15 But even to this day, when Moses is read, the veil is laid over their hearts.

16 Nevertheless, when their heart shall be turned to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away.

17 Now, the Lord is the Spirit. And where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

18 But we all, with unveiled face, behold as in a mirror the Glory of the Lord; and are changed into the same image, from glory to Glory, as by the Spirit of the Lord.
