Exodus 12:22-51

22 “And take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood that is in the basin. And strike the lintel and the side posts with the blood that is in the basin. And let none of you go out at the door of the house until the morning.

23 “For the LORD will pass by to strike the Egyptians. And when He sees the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door and will not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to plague you.

24 “Therefore, you shall observe this thing as an ordinance for you and for your sons, forever.

25 “And when you shall come into the land which the LORD will give you, as He has promised, then you shall keep this service.

26 “And when your children ask you, ‘What service is this you keep?’

27 “then you shall say, ‘It is the sacrifice of the LORD’s Passover, Who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt when He struck the Egyptians and preserved our houses.’” Then the people bowed themselves and worshipped.

28 So, the children of Israel went and did as the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron. So did they.

29 Now at midnight, the LORD struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt— from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive that was in prison—and all the firstborn of beasts.

30 And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he and all his servants and all the Egyptians. And there was a great cry in Egypt. For there was no house where there was not one dead.

31 And he sent word to Moses and to Aaron by night, saying, “Rise up! Get out from among my people—both you and the children of Israel—and go serve the LORD as you have said.

32 “Also, take your sheep and your cattle (as you have said) and depart. And bless me also.”

33 And the Egyptians urged the people to send them out of the land in haste. For they said, “We shall all die.”

34 Therefore, the people took their dough before it was leavened, with their bowls bound up in clothing upon their shoulders.

35 And the children of Israel did according to the saying of Moses. And they asked for articles of silver and articles of gold and clothing from the Egyptians.

36 And the LORD gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. And they granted their request. So, they plundered the Egyptians.

37 Then the children of Israel took their journey from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides children.

38 And a great mixed multitude of people went out with them, as well as flocks and herds and cattle in great abundance.

39 And they baked the dough which they brought out of Egypt and made unleavened cakes (for it was not leavened because they were thrust out of Egypt and could not linger, nor could they prepare provisions for themselves).

40 So, the dwelling of the children of Israel, while they dwelled in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years.

41 And when the four hundred and thirty years had expired—on that very same day— all the hosts of the LORD departed out of the land of Egypt.

42 It is a night to be kept holy to the LORD, because He brought them out of the land of Egypt. This is the night of the LORD which all the children of Israel must keep throughout their generations.

43 Also, the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “This is the Law of the Passover: No stranger shall eat thereof.

44 “But, every servant that is bought for money, when you have circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.

45 “A stranger or a hired servant shall not eat thereof.

46 “It shall be eaten in one house. You shall carry none of the flesh out of the house, nor shall you break a bone thereof.

47 “All the Congregation of Israel shall observe it.

48 “But, if a stranger who dwells with you wishes to observe the Passover of the LORD, let him circumcise all the males who belong to him; and then let him come and observe it. And he shall be as one who was born in the land. For no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.

49 “One Law shall be for him who is born in the land and to the stranger who dwells among you.”

50 Then all the children of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses and Aaron. So did they.

51 And that same day, the LORD brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.

Luke 15

15 Then all the tax collectors and sinners came to Him, to hear Him.

Therefore, the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, “He receives sinners, and eats with them.”

Then He spoke this parable to them, saying,

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after that which is lost until he finds it?

“And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders with joy.

“And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me! For I have found my sheep which was lost!’

“I say to you that joy shall likewise be in Heaven for one sinner who converts, more than for ninety-nine righteous ones who have no need of repentance.

“Or what woman having ten drachmas, if she loses one drachma, does not light a candle and sweep the house and seek diligently till she finds it?

“And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me! For I have found the coin which I had lost!’

10 “Likewise I say to you there is joy in the presence of the angels of God for one sinner who converts.”

11 He said moreover, “A certain man had two sons.

12 “And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of the goods that falls to me.’ So, he divided his livelihood among them.

13 “So, not many days after, when the younger son had gathered everything together, he took his journey into a far country. And there he wasted his goods with riotous living.

14 “Now, when he had spent everything, there arose a great famine throughout that land. And he began to be in want.

15 “Then he went and kept company with a citizen of that country. And he sent him to his farm to feed swine.

16 “And he would have filled his belly with the husks that the swine ate, but no one gave him any.

17 “Then he came to himself and said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have enough bread, and I die for hunger?

18 ‘I will rise and go to my father, and say to him, “Father, I have sinned against Heaven, and before you,

19 “and am no more worthy to be called your son. Make me as one of your hired servants.”’

20 “So he arose and came to his father. And when he was still a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

21 “And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against Heaven, and before you, and am no more worthy to be called your son.’

22 “Then the father said to his servants, ‘Bring forth the best robe and put it on him! And put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet!

23 ‘And bring the fat calf and kill him! And let us eat and be merry!

24 ‘For this my son was dead, and is alive again! And he was lost, but he is found!’ And they began to be merry.

25 “Now the elder brother was in the field. And when he came and drew near to the house, he heard melody and dancing,

26 “And he called one of his servants and asked what those things meant.

27 “And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come. And your father has killed the fat calf because he has received him safe and sound.’

28 “Then he was angry, and would not go in. Therefore, his father came out and implored him.

29 “But he answered, and said to his father, ‘Lo, these many years I have done you service and have always obeyed you! And yet you never gave me a kid that I might make merry with my friends!

30 ‘But when this, your son, had come - who had devoured your goods with harlots - you have killed the fat calf for his sake!’

31 “And he said to him, “Son, you are always with me. And all that I have is yours. It was fitting that we should celebrate and be glad. For this, your brother, was dead, and is alive again. And he was lost, but he is found.”

Job 30

30 “But now, those who are younger than me, mock me, those whose fathers I have refused to set with the dogs of my flocks.

“For how should the strength of their hands have served me? Vigor perished in them.

“They were hard from poverty and famine, fleeing into the wilderness, dark, desolate and waste.

“They cut up nettles by the bushes, and the juniper root was their food.

“They were chased forth from among men. They shouted at them, as at a thief.

“Therefore they dwelt in the clefts of rivers, in the holes of the earth and rocks.

“They roared among the bushes, and under the thistles they gathered themselves.

“They were the children of fools, and the children of villains, who were scourged from the Earth.

“And now am I their song, and I am their talk.

10 “They abhor me, flee far from me, and do not hesitate to spit in my face.

11 “Because He has loosed His cord and humbled me. They have loosed the bridle before me.

12 “The youth rise up at my right hand. They have pushed away my feet and have built upon me the paths of their destruction.

13 “They have destroyed my paths. They took pleasure in my calamity. They had no help.

14 “They came as a great breach. Under this calamity they come in waves.

15 “Fear is turned upon me. They pursue my soul as the wind, and my health passes away as a cloud.

16 “Therefore my soul is now poured out upon me. And the days of affliction have taken hold on me.

17 “It pierces my bones in the night, and my sinews take no rest.

18 “Through great force is my garment changed, surrounding me as the collar of my coat.

19 “He has cast me into the mire, and I have become like ashes and dust.

20 “When I cry to You, You do not hear me. Nor do You regard me when I stand up.

21 “You turn Yourself cruelly against me and oppose me with the strength of Your Hand.

22 “You take me up, cause me to ride upon the wind, and make my strength fail.

23 “Surely I know that You will bring me to death, and to the house appointed for all the living.

24 “Yet does not one still stretch his hand from the grave, though he cries in His destruction?

25 “Did not I weep with him who was in trouble? Was not my soul in heaviness for the poor?

26 “Yet when I looked for good, evil came to me. And when I waited for light, there came darkness.

27 “My bowels boiled without rest. The days of affliction have come upon me.

28 “I went mourning, without Sun. I stood up in the Congregation and cried.

29 “I am a brother to the jackals, and a companion to the ostriches.

30 “My skin is black upon me, and my bones are burnt with heat.

31 “Therefore, my harp becomes mourning, and my organs the voice of those who weep.”

1 Corinthians 16

16 Concerning the gathering of the Saints: as I have ordained in the Churches of Galatia, so you do also.

Every first of the week, let every one of you lay up for himself as God has prospered him, so that then there will be no gatherings when I come.

And when I come, whomever you shall approve by letters, they will I send to carry your kindness to Jerusalem.

And if it be suitable that I go also, they shall go with me.

Now I will come to you after I have gone through Macedonia (for I will pass through Macedonia.)

And it may be that I will stay (yea, or winter) with you, that you may send me on my way, wherever I go.

For I will not see you now in my passage. But I am expecting to stay a while with you, if the Lord permits.

And I will wait at Ephesus until Pentecost.

For a great and effective door has opened to me. And there are many adversaries.

10 Now, if Timothy comes, see that he is without fear with you. For he works the work of the Lord, even as I do.

11 Therefore, let no one despise him. But send him forth in peace, that he may come to me. For I looked for him with the brothers.

12 Concerning our brother, Apollos, I greatly desired him to come to you with the brothers. But his mind was not at all to come at this time. But he will come when he shall have convenient time.

13 Watch. Stand fast in the faith. Act like men, being strong.

14 Let all your things be done in love.

15 Now, brothers, I encourage you (you know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have given themselves to minister to the Saints.)

16 That you also be subject to such, and to all that help with us and labor.

17 I am glad of the coming of Stephanas, and Fortunatus, and Achaicus. For they have supplied what you lacked.

18 For they have refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore, recognize such as these.

19 The Churches of Asia salute you: Aquila and Priscilla, with the Church that is in their house, salute you greatly in the Lord.

20 All the brothers greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss.

21 The salutation of me, Paul, with my own hand.

22 If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed. Marana—tha!

23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

24 My love be with you all in Christ Jesus, Amen.

(The first Epistle to the Corinthians, written from Philippi, and sent by Stephanas, and Fortunatus, and Achaicus, and Timothy.)
