M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
10 Again, the LORD said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh. For I have hardened his heart (and the hearts of his servants) so that I might work these, My miracles, in the midst of his realm,
2 and so that you may declare in the ears of your son, and of your son’s son, what things I have done in Egypt and My miracles which I have done among them. So that you may know that I am the LORD.”
3 Then Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh. And they said to him, “Thus says the LORD God of the Hebrews: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, so that they may serve Me.
4 ‘But if you refuse to let My people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your territory.
5 ‘And they shall cover the face of the Earth, so that a man cannot see the Earth. And they shall eat the residue which remains to you and has escaped from the hail. And they shall eat all your trees that bud in the field.
6 ‘And they shall fill your houses, and all your servants’ houses, and the houses of all the Egyptians, as neither your fathers nor your fathers’ fathers have seen since the time they were upon the Earth until this day.’” So, he returned and went out from Pharaoh.
7 Then, Pharaoh’s servants said to him, “How long shall he be a snare to us? Let the men go, so that they may serve the LORD their God. Do you still not know that Egypt is destroyed?”
8 So, Moses and Aaron were again brought to Pharaoh. And he said to them, “Go. Serve the LORD your God. But who are those who shall go?”
9 And Moses answered, “We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters. With our sheep and with our cattle will we go. For we must celebrate a feast to the LORD.”
10 And he said to them, “Let the LORD so be with you, as I will let you and your children go. But behold, evil is ahead of you.
11 “Not so. Now go, you men, and serve the LORD. For that was your desire.” Then they were thrust out from Pharaoh’s presence.
12 Afterward, the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand upon the land of Egypt for the locusts, so that they may come upon the land of Egypt and eat all the herbs of the land.” (all that the hail had left)
13 Then Moses stretched forth his rod upon the land of Egypt. And the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day and all that night. And in the morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
14 So the locusts went up upon all the land of Egypt and remained in all quarters of Egypt. There have never been such grievous locusts as these, nor shall there be after them.
15 For they covered all the face of the Earth, so that the land was dark. And they ate all the herbs of the land, and all the fruits of the trees, which the hail had left, so that there was no green thing left upon the trees, nor among the herbs of the field, throughout all the land of Egypt.
16 Therefore, Pharaoh quickly called for Moses and Aaron, and said, “I have sinned against the LORD your God, and against you.
17 “And now, forgive my sin only this once, and pray to the LORD your God, only so that He may take away from me this death.”
18 Then Moses went out from Pharaoh and prayed to the LORD.
19 And the LORD turned a mighty strong west wind, and took away the locusts, and violently cast them into the Red Sea. There remained not one locust in all the land of Egypt.
20 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he did not let the children of Israel go.
21 Again the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward Heaven, so that darkness may be upon the land of Egypt, even darkness that may be felt.”
22 Then, Moses stretched forth his hand toward Heaven; and there was a black darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days.
23 No one saw another, nor rose up from the place where he was, for three days. But all the children of Israel had light where they dwelt.
24 Then Pharaoh called for Moses, and said, “Go serve the LORD. Only your sheep and your cattle shall remain; and your children shall go with you.”
25 And Moses said, “You must also give us sacrifices and burnt offerings, so that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.
26 “Therefore, our cattle shall go with us also. There shall not be a hoof left. For we must take from them to serve the LORD our God. Nor do we know how we shall serve the LORD until we get there.”
27 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart; and he would not let them go.
28 And Pharaoh said to him, “Get away from me! Be careful that you see my face no more. For whenever you come into my sight, you shall die!”
29 Then Moses said, “You have said well. I will never see your face again.”
13 There were some present at the same time who told Him of the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
2 And Jesus answered, and said to them, “Do you suppose that because they have suffered such things, these Galileans were greater sinners than all the other Galileans?
3 “I tell you no. But unless you repent, you shall all likewise perish.
4 “Or do you think that those eighteen upon whom the tower in Siloam fell (and it killed them) were sinners above all men living in Jerusalem?
5 “I tell you no. But unless you repent, you shall all likewise perish.”
6 He also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard. And he came and sought fruit from it and found none.
7 “Then he said to the dresser of his vineyard, ‘Behold, for three years I have come and sought fruit from this fig tree and found none. Cut it down! Why is it wasting ground?’
8 “And he answered, and said to him, ‘Lord, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it.
9 ‘And if it bears fruit, well. If not, then after that cut it down.’”
10 And He taught in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath Day.
11 And behold, there was a woman who had had a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years. And was doubled over and could not straighten up at all.
12 When Jesus saw her, He called her to Him, and said to her, “Woman, you are free from your disease.”
13 And He laid His hands on her. And immediately she was made straight again. And she glorified God.
14 And the ruler of the Synagogue answered indignantly (because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath) and said to the people, “There are six days in which we ought to work! Therefore, come and be healed on those days, and not on the Sabbath day!”
15 Then the Lord answered him, and said, “Hypocrite. Does not each one of you free his ox or his ass from the stall on the Sabbath and lead him away to the water?
16 “And ought not this daughter of Abraham (whom Satan has bound, lo, eighteen years) be freed from this bond on the Sabbath day?”
17 And when He said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed. But all the people rejoiced at all the excellent things that were done by Him.
18 Then He said, “What is the Kingdom of God like? Or, to what shall I compare it?
19 “It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his garden. And it grew and became a great tree. And the birds of the heaven made nests in its branches.”
20 And again He said, “To what shall I liken the Kingdom of God?
21 “It is like leaven. Which a woman took and hid in three pecks of flour, till it all was leavened.”
22 And He went through all cities and towns, teaching and journeying towards Jerusalem.
23 Then someone said to Him, “Lord, are there few who shall be saved?” And He said to them,
24 “Strive to enter in at the narrow gate. For many, I say to you, will seek to enter in and shall not be able.
25 “When the master of the house has risen up and has shut the door; and you began to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open for us’, and he shall answer and say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from.’
26 “Then you shall begin to say, ‘We have eaten and drunk in your presence, and you have taught in our streets.’
27 “But he shall say, ‘I tell you. I do not know where you are from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity!’
28 “There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you shall see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the Prophets in the Kingdom of God; and yourselves thrust out at the doors.
29 “Then many shall come from the east and from the west and from the north and from the south and shall sit at table in the Kingdom of God.
30 “And behold, there are last who shall be first. And there are first who shall be last.”
31 The same day, some Pharisees came and said to Him, “Depart and go from here! For Herod wants to kill you!”
32 Then He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and will keep healing today and tomorrow. And the third day I shall complete it.’
33 “Nevertheless, I must walk today and tomorrow and the day after. For it cannot be that a Prophet should perish outside of Jerusalem.
34 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the Prophets and stones those who are sent to you! How often would I have gathered your children together, as the hen gathers her brood under her wings. And you would not.
35 “Behold, your house is left to you desolate. And truly I tell you, you shall not see Me until the time comes that you shall say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord.’”
28 “Silver surely has its vein, and gold its refining place.
2 “Iron is taken out of the dust, and copper is smelted out of the stone.
3 “God sets an end to darkness, and He tests the perfection of all things. He sets a bond of darkness and of the shadow of death.
4 “The torrent breaks out against the sojourner, forgotten by the foot. They hang lower than man, gone far away.
5 “Out of the same earth comes bread. And under it, as it were, fire is turned up,
6 “its stones a place of sapphires, and the dust of it gold.
7 “There is a path which no bird has known, nor has the kite’s eye seen it.
8 “The lion’s whelps have not walked it, nor the lion passed by it.
9 “He puts His Hand upon the rocks and overthrows the mountains by the roots.
10 “He breaks rivers in the roots, and His Eye sees every precious thing.
11 “He binds the rivers, so that they do not overflow. And the thing that is hidden He brings to light.
12 “But where is wisdom found? And where is the place of understanding?
13 “Man does not know its price. For it is not found in the land of the living.
14 “The depth says, ‘It is not in me.’ The sea also says, ‘It is not with me.’
15 “Gold shall not be given for it, nor shall silver be weighed for its price.
16 “It shall not be valued with the wedge of gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.
17 “Neither gold nor crystal shall be equal to it, nor shall it be exchanged for jewelry of fine gold.
18 “No mention shall be made of coral or of the gabish. For wisdom is more precious than pearls.
19 “The topaz of Ethiopia shall not be equal to it, nor shall it be valued with the wedge of pure gold.
20 “From where, then, does wisdom come? And where is the place of understanding,
21 “seeing it is hidden from the eyes of all the living, and is hidden from the birds of the heaven?
22 “Destruction and death say, ‘We have heard of its fame with our ears.’
23 “God understands its way. And He knows its place.
24 “For He beholds the ends of the world, sees all that is under Heaven,
25 “to make the weight of the winds and to weigh the waters by measure.
26 “When He made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunders,
27 “then He saw it and counted it. He prepared it and also considered it.
28 “And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the LORD is wisdom. And to depart from evil is understanding.’”
14 Pursue love, and desire spiritual things, more so that you may prophesy.
2 For the one who speaks in a tongue, speaks not to man, but to God. For no one hears. But in the spirit he speaks secret things.
3 But the one who prophesies, speaks to man for edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
4 The one who speaks in a tongue, edifies himself. But the one who prophesies, edifies the Church.
5 Now, I would prefer that you all spoke in tongues, even more so that you prophesied. For greater is the one who prophesies than the one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the Church may receive edification.
6 And now, brothers, if I come to you speaking in tongues, what shall I benefit you, unless I speak to you by either revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?
7 Just as things without life give a sound, whether a pipe or a harp, how shall it be known what is piped or harped unless a distinction is made between the sounds?
8 And also if the trumpet gives an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to battle?
9 So likewise you, by the tongue, unless you utter words that are understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? For you shall speak into the air.
10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them without significance.
11 Unless, then, I know the miraculous power of the voice, I shall be to him who speaks a Barbarian, and he who speaks, shall be to me a Barbarian.
12 Even so, since you covet spiritual things, seek that you may excel at the edifying of the Church.
13 Therefore, let him who speaks a tongue, pray that he may interpret.
14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is without fruit.
15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, but I will pray with the understanding also. I will sing with the spirit. but I will sing with the understanding also.
16 Or else, when you bless with the spirit, how shall the one who fills the place of the unlearned say, ‘Amen’, at your giving of thanks, seeing he does not know what you say?
17 For truly you give thanks well, but the other is not edified.
18 I thank my God I speak languages more than you all.
19 Yet I would rather speak five words in my own understanding while also instructing others in the Church, than speak ten thousand words in a tongue.
20 Brothers, do not be children in understanding, but concerning wickedness be children; in understanding be of a ripe age.
21 In the Law it is written, “‘By other tongues, and by other languages, will I speak to this people. Yet so shall they not hear me’, says the Lord.”
22 Therefore, tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to those who do not believe. And prophesying is not for unbelievers, but for believers.
23 If therefore, when the whole church comes together as one, and all speak tongues, and there come in those who are unlearned, or those who do not believe, will they not say that you are out of your wits?
24 But if all prophesy, and there comes in one who does not believe, or one unlearned, he is rebuked by all and is examined by all.
25 And so are the secrets of his heart made manifest. And so he will fall down on his face and worship God, and say plainly that God is in you indeed.
26 What is it then, brothers? When you come together, each one of you has a Psalm, has doctrine, has a tongue, has revelation, has interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.
27 If anyone speaks a tongue, let it be by two, or at the most, by three, and each in turn. And let one interpret.
28 But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in the Church. And let him speak to himself, and to God.
29 Let the prophets speak, two or three, and let the others judge.
30 And if anything is revealed to another who sits by, let the first keep silent.
31 For you may all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn, and all may be encouraged.
32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
33 For God is not of confusion, but of peace, as in all the churches of the Saints.
34 Let your women keep silent in the churches. For it is not permitted for them to speak, but to be in submission, as also the Law says.
35 And if they wish to learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for women to speak in the Church.
36 Did the Word of God come out from you? Or did it come to you only?
37 If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the Commandments of the Lord.
38 But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant.
39 Therefore, brothers, earnestly desire to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak in tongues.
40 Let all things be done properly, and with order.
