M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan
45 Then Joseph could not control himself before all who stood by him; but he cried, “Send everyone away!” And not one remained with him while Joseph made himself known to his brothers.
2 And he wept, and cried, so that the Egyptians heard. The house of Pharaoh also heard.
3 Then Joseph said to his brothers, “I am Joseph. Is my father still alive?” But his brothers could not answer him (for they were astonished at his presence).
4 Again, Joseph said to his brothers, “Please come near to me.” And they came near. And he said, “I am Joseph, your brother; whom you sold into Egypt.
5 “Now, therefore, do not be sad or angry with yourselves, that you sold me here. For God sent me before you for your preservation.
6 “For now, two years of famine have been through the land; and five years are still to come wherein there shall be neither earing nor harvest.
7 “Therefore, God sent me before you to preserve your posterity in this land, and to save you alive by a great deliverance.
8 “Now, then, you did not send me here, but God, Who has made me a father to Pharaoh and lord of all his house and ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
9 “Hurry and go up to my father, and tell him, ‘Thus says your son, Joseph, “God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me, do not delay.
10 ‘And you shall dwell in the land of Goshen and shall be near me (you and your children and your children’s children and your sheep and your beasts and all that you have).
11 ‘Also, I will nourish you there (for there still remains five years of famine), lest you perish through poverty, (you and your household and all that you have).’
12 “And behold, your eyes see (as do the eyes of my brother, Benjamin) that my mouth speaks to you.
13 “Therefore, tell my father of all my honor in Egypt, and of all that you have seen; and hurry and bring my father here.”
14 Then he fell on his brother Benjamin’s neck and wept; and Benjamin wept on his neck.
15 Moreover, he kissed all his brothers, and wept upon them. And afterward, his brothers talked with him.
16 And the tidings came to Pharaoh’s house, so that they said, “Joseph’s brothers have come.” And it pleased Pharaoh well, and his servants.
17 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Say to your brothers, ‘Do this: load your beasts and leave. Go to the land of Canaan.’
18 “And take your father and your household and come to me; and I will give you the best of the land of Egypt. And you shall eat of the fat of the land.
19 “And I command you, do this: Take chariots out of the land of Egypt, for your children and for your wives, and bring your father and come.
20 “Also, do not be concerned about your stuff. For the best of all the land of Egypt is yours.”
21 And the children of Israel did so. And Joseph gave them chariots, according to the commandment of Pharaoh. He also gave them food for the journey.
22 He gave them all, without exception, a change of clothing. But to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of clothing.
23 And to his father, also, he sent ten male donkeys, loaded with the best things of Egypt, and ten female donkeys, loaded with wheat and bread and meat for his father along the way.
24 So, he sent his brothers away; and they departed. And he said to them, “Do not argue on the way.”
25 Then they went up from Egypt, and came to the land of Canaan (to Jacob, their father)
26 and told him, saying, “Joseph is still alive! And he is also governor over all the land of Egypt!” And Jacob’s heart failed, for he did not believe them.
27 And they told him all the words of Joseph which he had said to them. But when he saw the chariots which Joseph had sent to carry him, then the spirit of Jacob, their father, revived.
28 And Israel said, “I have enough. Joseph, my son, is still alive. I will go and see him before I die.”
15 And before dawn, the chief priests held a council with the elders, and the scribes, and the whole Council; and bound Jesus and led Him away and delivered Him to Pilate.
2 Then Pilate asked Him, “Are you the King of the Jews?” And He answered, and said to him, “You have said so.”
3 And the chief priests accused Him of many things.
4 So Pilate asked Him again, saying, “Do you answer nothing? Behold how many things they witness against You.”
5 But Jesus answered no more at all, so that Pilate marveled.
6 Now at the feast, Pilate would deliver a prisoner to them, whoever they desired.
7 And there was one named Barabbas (who was bound with his fellows) who had made insurrection, during which he had committed murder.
8 And the people cried aloud and began to desire that Pilate would do as he had always done for them.
9 Then Pilate answered them, and said, “Should I release to you the King of the Jews?”
10 For he knew that the chief priests had delivered Him out of envy.
11 But the chief priests had incited the people to desire Barabbas.
12 And Pilate answered, and said to them again, “What then shall I do with Him Whom you call the King of the Jews?”
13 And they cried again, “Crucify Him!”
14 Then Pilate said to them, “But, what evil has He done?” And they cried even more fervently, “Crucify Him!”
15 So Pilate, willing to content the people, gave them Barabbas, and delivered Jesus - once he had scourged Him - to be crucified.
16 Then the soldiers led Him away into the hall (which is the common hall) and called together the whole band,
17 and clothed Him with purple, and put a crown of thorns on His head,
18 and began to salute Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
19 And they struck Him on the head with a reed, and spit on Him, and bowed their knees, and did Him reverence.
20 And when they had mocked Him, they took the purple off Him, and put His own clothes back on, and led Him out to crucify Him.
21 And they compelled one who passed by called Simon of Cyrene (who came out of the country and was father of Alexander and Rufus) to bear His cross.
22 And they brought Him to a place named Golgotha (which is by interpretation, ‘Place of Dead Mens’ Skulls’).
23 And they gave Him wine to drink, mingled with myrrh. But He did not receive it.
24 And when they had crucified Him, they parted His garments, casting lots for what every man should have.
25 And it was the third hour when they crucified Him.
26 And the title of His cause was written above, ‘THE KING OF THE JEWS.’
27 They also crucified two thieves with Him, one on the right and the other on His left.
28 Thus the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And He was counted among the wicked.”
29 And those who passed by railed on Him, wagging their heads and saying, “Hey, You who would destroy the Temple, and build it in three days,
30 save Yourself! And come down from the cross!”
31 Likewise even the chief priests, also mocking, said among themselves with the scribes, “He saved other men! Himself He cannot save!
32 “Let Christ, the King of Israel, now come down from the cross, so that we may see and believe!” Those who were crucified with Him also reviled Him.
33 Now, when the sixth hour had come, darkness arose over all the land until the ninth hour.
34 And at the ninth hour, Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lama-sabachthani?” Which is by interpretation, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
35 And some of those who stood by, when they heard it, said, “Behold, He calls Elijah!”
36 And one ran and filled a sponge full of vinegar and put it on a reed and gave it to Him, saying, “Let Him alone! Let us see if Elijah will come and take Him down!”
37 And Jesus cried with a loud voice and gave up the ghost.
38 And the veil of the Temple was torn in two, from the top to the bottom.
39 Now when the centurion who stood near Him saw that He, thus crying, gave up the ghost, he said, “Truly this man was the Son of God.”
40 There were also women who watched from a distance, among whom were Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome,
41 who also followed Him and ministered to Him when He was in Galilee, and many other women who came up with Him to Jerusalem.
42 And now when the night had come (because it was the Day of the Preparation that is before the Sabbath)
43 Joseph of Arimathea, an honorable councilman, who also looked for the Kingdom of God, went in boldly to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.
44 And Pilate was surprised that He was already dead. So, he called the centurion and asked him whether He were indeed dead.
45 And when he knew the truth from the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph;
46 who bought a linen cloth, and took Him down, and wrapped Him in the linen cloth, and laid Him in a tomb that was hewn out of a rock; and rolled a stone over the door of the sepulcher.
47 And Mary Magdalene and Mary Joses’ mother beheld where He was laid.
11 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
2 “Should not the multitude of words be answered? Or should a great talker be justified?
3 “Should men hold their peace at your lies? And when you mock, shall no one make you ashamed?
4 “For you have said, ‘My doctrine is pure and I am clean in Your eyes.’
5 “But, oh that God would speak and open His Lips against you!
6 “So that He might show you the secrets of wisdom. How you have double, according to right. Know, therefore, that God has exacted from you less than your iniquity deserves.
7 “Can you search out the depths of God? Can you learn the limits of the Almighty?
8 “They are higher than the heavens. What can you do? They are deeper than Sheol. How can you know them?
9 “Their measure is longer than the Earth. And they are broader than the sea.
10 “If He cuts off and shuts up, or gathers together, who can turn Him back?
11 “For He knows vain men, and sees iniquity, and he who understands nothing.
12 “Yet vain man would be wise (though a man born is like a wild donkey colt)
13 “if you prepared your heart and stretched out your hands toward Him.
14 “If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away and let no wickedness dwell in your tent.
15 “Then, truly shall you lift up your face without spot, and shall be stable, and shall not fear.
16 “And you shall forget misery and remember it as waters that are past.
17 “Your lifetime shall appear clearer than the noonday, and shall shine as the morning.
18 “And you shall be bold because there is hope. And you shall dig pits and shall lie down safely.
19 “For when you take your rest, no one shall make you afraid. Yea, many shall pursue you.
20 “But the eyes of the wicked shall fail. And their refuge shall perish. And their hope shall be the giving up of the ghost.”
15 We who are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
2 Let everyone please his neighbor for good toward edification.
3 For Christ would not please Himself, either. But as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached you, fell on Me.”
4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning. So that we, through the endurance and encouragement of the Scriptures, might have hope.
5 Now may the God of endurance and encouragement grant that you be like-minded towards one another, according to Christ Jesus.
6 That you, with one mind and with one mouth, may praise God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
7 Therefore, receive one another, as Christ also received us, to the glory of God.
8 Now, I say that Jesus Christ became a servant of the circumcision for the truth of God; to confirm the promises made to the Fathers.
9 And let the Gentiles praise God for His mercy. As it is written, “For this reason I will praise You among the Gentiles and sing to Your Name.”
10 And again He says, “Rejoice, you Gentiles, with His people!”
11 And again, “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! And laud Him, all you people!”
12 And again, Isaiah says, “There shall be a root of Jesse; and He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles. In Him shall the Gentiles trust.”
13 Now may the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing; that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
14 And concerning you, my brothers, I myself am also persuaded that you too are full of goodness, and filled with all knowledge, and are able to admonish one another.
15 Nevertheless, brothers, I have written to you somewhat more boldly (as one who reminds you through the grace given me by God),
16 that I might be the minister of Jesus Christ toward the Gentiles (ministering the Gospel of God) that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
17 Therefore, I have reason to rejoice in God through Christ Jesus.
18 For I do not dare speak of anything which Christ has not worked through me to make the Gentiles obedient, in word and deed -
19 with the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God - so that from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully preached the Gospel of Christ.
20 Thus, I earnestly strive to preach the Gospel, not where Christ was named (lest I should build on another’s foundation),
21 but as it is written, “To whom He was not spoken of, they shall see Him. And those who did not hear, shall understand.”
22 For this reason, also, I have often been hindered in coming to you.
23 But now, seeing I no longer have a place in these regions, and have longed to come to you for many years,
24 I will come to you when I take my journey into Spain. For I hope to see you on my journey, and to be brought on my way there by you, after I have first enjoyed your company for a while.
25 But now I go to Jerusalem, to minister to the Saints.
26 For it has pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution to the poor Saints who are at Jerusalem.
27 It has pleased them. And indeed, they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles have been partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is to minister to them also, in material things.
28 Therefore, once I have performed this, and have sealed their fruit, I will pass by you into Spain.
29 And I know when I come, that I shall come to you with abundance of the blessing of the Gospel of Christ.
30 Also brothers, I beg you for our Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that you would strive with me by prayers to God for me,
31 that I may be delivered from those who are disobedient in Judea; and that my service which I have to do at Jerusalem may be accepted by the Saints.
32 So that I may come to you with joy, by the will of God, and may be refreshed with you.
33 Now, the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
