Also there were Ibhar and Elishama and Eliphelet

and Nogah and Nepheg and Japhia

and Elishama and Eliada and Eliphelet. Nine in all.

These are all the sons of David, besides the sons of the concubines and Tamar, their sister.

10 And Solomon’s son was Rehoboam, whose son was Abijah. Asa was his son. And Jehoshaphat was his son,

11 And Joram was his son. And Ahaziah was his son. And Joash was his son,

14 And Amon was his son. And Josiah was his son.

15 And of the sons of Josiah, the eldest was Johanan, the second Jehoiakim, the third Zedekiah, and the fourth Shallum.

16 And the sons of Jehoiakim were Jeconiah, his son, and Zedekiah his son.

17 And the sons of Jeconiah were Assir and Shealtiel his son

18 and Malchiram and Pedaiah and Shenazzar, Jecamiah, Hoshama and Nedabiah.

21 And the sons of Hananiah were Pelatiah and Jeshaiah, the sons of Rephaiah, the sons of Arnan, the sons of Obadiah, and the sons of Shechaniah.

22 And the son of Shechaniah was Shemaiah. And the sons of Shemaiah were Hattush and Igal and Bariah and Neariah and Shaphat (six).

23 And the sons of Neariah were Elioenai and Hezekiah and Azrikam, (three).

24 And the sons of Elioenai were Hodaviah and Eliashib and Pelaiah and Akkub and Johanan and Delaiah and Anani (seven).

The sons of Judah were Perez, Hezron and Carmi and Hur and Shobal.

And Reaiah, the son of Shobal, begat Jahath. And Jahath begat Ahumai and Lahad. These are the families of the Zorathites.

And these were from the father of Etam: Jezreel and Ishma and Idbash. And the name of their sister was Hazelelponi.

And Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah. These are the sons of Hur, the eldest son of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem.

But Ashhur, the father of Tekoa, had two wives, Helah and Naarah.

And Naarah bore him Ahuzzam and Hepher and Temeni and Haahashtari. These were the sons of Naarah.

And the sons of Helah were Zereth, Zohar and Ethnan.

Also, Koz begat Anub and Zobebah and the families of Aharhel, the son of Harum.

But Jabez was more honorable than his brethren. And his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in sorrow.”

10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, and that Your Hand were with me, and that You would deliver me from evil, so that I am not hurt!” And God granted the thing that he asked.

11 And Chelub, the brother of Shuhah, begat Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.

12 And Eshton begat Beth-Rapha and Paseah and Tehinnah, the father of the city of Ir-Nahash. These are the men of Rechah.

13 And the sons of Kenaz were Othniel and Seraiah. And the son of Othniel was Hathath.

18 Also his wife, Jehudijah, bore Jered, the father of Gedor, and Heber, the father of Sochoh, and Jekuthiel, the father of Zanoah. And these are the sons of Bithiah, the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took.

19 And the sons of the wife of Hodiah, the sister of Naham, the father of Keilah, were the Garmites and Eshtemoa the Maachathite.

20 And the sons of Shimon were Amnon and Rinnah, Ben-Hanan and Tilon. And the sons of Ishi were Zoheth and Ben-Zoheth.

21 The sons of Shelah, the son of Judah, were Er, the father of Lecah, and Laadah, the father of Mareshah, and the families of the households of those who worked fine linen in the House of Ashbea

22 and Jokim and the men of Chozeba and Joash and Saraph, who had the dominion in Moab, and Jashubi-Lehem. These are also ancient things.

23 These were gatekeepers and dwelt among plants and hedges. They dwelt there with the king for his work.

24 The sons of Simeon were Nemuel and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah and Shaul,

25 whose son was Shallum. And his son was Mibsam. And his son was Mishma.

26 And the sons of Mishma were Hamuel his son, Zacchur his son, and Shimei his son.

27 And Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters. But his brethren did not have many children, nor was any of their family like the children of Judah in multitude.

28 And they dwelt at Beersheba, and at Moladah, and at Hazar Shual,

29 and at Bilhah, and at Ezem, and at Tolad,

30 and at Bethuel, and at Hormah, and at Ziklag,

31 and at Beth Marcaboth, and at Hazar Susim, at Beth Biri, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities until the reign of David.

32 And their towns were Etam and Ain, Rimmon and Tochen and Ashan (five cities)

33 and all their towns that were all around these cities, up to Baal. These are their habitations and the declaration of their genealogy.

38 these were famous princes in their families and increased greatly their father’s Houses.

39 And they went to the entrance of Gedor, to the eastern side of the valley, to seek pasture for their sheep.

40 And they found abundant, rich pasture with and a wide, quiet and fruitful land. For the Hamites had dwelt there before.

41 And those described here by name came in the days of Hezekiah, king of Judah, and struck their tents, and the inhabitants who were found there, and destroyed them utterly to this day, and dwelt in their space, because there was pasture there for their sheep.

42 And besides these, five hundred men of the sons of Simeon went to Mount Seir. And Pelatiah and Neariah and Rephaiah and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi, were their captains.

43 And they struck the rest of Amalek who had escaped. And they dwell there to this day.

Hebrews 9

Then, indeed, the first Testament had ordinances of religion, and a worldly sanctuary.

For the first Tabernacle was made - in which was the candlestick, and the table, and the showbread - which is called the Holy Place.

And after the second veil, the Tabernacle - which is called the Holiest of All -

which had the golden censer and the Ark of the Testament, overlaid all around with gold (in which was the golden pot which had manna and Aaron’s rod that had budded and the tables of the Testament).

And over the Ark were the glorious cherubims shadowing the mercy seat, of which we will not now speak particularly.

Now when these things were thus prepared, the priest always went into the first Tabernacle and completed the service.

But only the High Priest went into the second - once every year - and not without blood (which he offered for himself and for the people’s sins of ignorance).

By this, the Holy Ghost signified that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet revealed while the first tabernacle was still standing.

It was a symbol of that present time in which was offered gifts and sacrifices that could not make the worshiper holy concerning the conscience,

10 but consisted only of foods and drinks and diverse washings and carnal rituals imposed until the time of reformation.

11 But Christ - being a High Priest of good things to come - came by a greater and more perfect Tabernacle (not made with hands - that is, not of this creation -

12 nor by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood), entering in once to the Holy Place and obtaining eternal redemption.

13 For if the sprinkling of the blood of bulls and goats, and the ashes of a heifer, sanctifies those who are unclean (as touching the purifying of the flesh),

14 how much more shall the blood of Christ - Who, through the eternal Spirit, offered Himself without fault to God - purge your conscience from dead works, to serve the living God?

15 And because of this, He is the Mediator of the new Testament, so that through death (which was for the redemption of the transgressions in the former Testament) those who were called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

16 For where there is a Testament, there must be the death of the one who made it.

17 For the Testament is confirmed after death. It is still of no force so long as the one who made it lives.

18 Therefore, nor was the first ordained without blood.

19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to the people (according to the Law), he took the blood of calves and goats, with water and purple wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book and all the people,

20 saying, “This is the blood of the Testament which God has commanded you.”

21 Moreover, he likewise sprinkled the Tabernacle with blood, and all the implements of ministry.

22 And by the Law, almost all things are purged with blood. And there is no remission without shedding of blood.

23 It was necessary, then, that the representations of heavenly things should be purified with such things. But the heavenly things themselves are purified with better sacrifices than these.

24 For Christ has not entered into the Holy Places that are made with hands - which are representations of the true things - but into Heaven itself, to appear now in the sight of God for us.

25 Not that He should offer himself often, as the High Priest entered into the Holy Place every year with others’ blood.

26 For then He would have had to suffer often, since the foundation of the world. But now, in the end of the world, He has appeared once, to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

27 And as much as it has been appointed to man that he shall die once (and after that comes the Judgment),

28 so Christ was once offered to take away the sins of many. And to those who look for Him, He shall appear a second time - without sin - for salvation.

Amos 3

Hear this Word that the LORD pronounces against you, O children of Israel; against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,

“You only have I known of all the families of the Earth. Therefore, I will punish you for all your iniquities.

“Can two walk together unless they are agreed?

“Will a lion roar in the forest when he has no prey? Or will a young lion cry out of his den if he has captured nothing?

“Can a bird fall into a snare upon the Earth if there is no lure? Or will a snare spring up from the Earth, having caught nothing at all?

“Or, shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? Or shall there be evil in a city and the LORD has not done it?”

Surely the LORD God will do nothing unless He reveals His secret to His servants, the Prophets.

The lion has roared! Who will not be afraid? The LORD God has spoken! Who can but prophesy?

“Proclaim in the palaces at Ashdod; and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, ‘Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria. See the great tumults in the midst thereof; and the oppressed in the midst thereof.’

10 “For they do not know to do right,” says the LORD, “They store up violence and robbery in their palaces.”

11 Therefore, thus says the LORD God: “An adversary shall come, spreading all around the country; and shall bring down your strength from you. And your palaces shall be plundered.”

12 Thus says the LORD: “As the shepherd takes two legs out of the mouth of the lion, or a piece of an ear, so shall the children of Israel, who dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, be taken out; and in Damascus, as in a couch.

13 “Hear, and testify in the house of Jacob,” says the LORD God, the God of hosts,

14 “Surely, on the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him, I will also visit the altars of Bethel. And the horns of the altar shall be broken off and fall to the ground.

15 “And I will strike the winter house along with the summer house. And the houses of ivory shall perish. And the great houses shall be consumed,” says the LORD. Against the governors of Samaria.

Psalm 146-147

146 Praise the LORD, O my soul!

I will praise the LORD during my life. As long as I have any being, I will sing to my God.

Do not put your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, for there is no help in him.

His breath departs. He returns to his earth. Then, his thoughts perish.

Blessed is he who has the God of Jacob for his help; whose hope is in the LORD his God,

Who made Heaven and Earth, the sea, and all that therein is. Who keeps his fidelity forever.

Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives bread to the hungry. The LORD frees the prisoners.

The LORD gives sight to the blind. The LORD raises up the crooked. The LORD loves the righteous.

The LORD keeps the strangers. He relieves the fatherless and widow; but He overthrows the way of the wicked.

10 The LORD shall reign forever! O Zion, your God endures from generation to generation. Praise the LORD!

147 Praise the LORD, for it is good to sing to our God; for it is a pleasant thing and praise is comely.

The LORD builds up Jerusalem and gathers together the dispersed of Israel.

He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their sores.

He counts the number of the stars and calls them all by their names.

Great is our LORD, and great is his power. His wisdom is infinite.

The LORD relieves the meek and abases the wicked to the ground.

Sing to the LORD with praise! Sing upon the harp to our God,

Who covers the heavens with clouds and prepares rain for the Earth and makes the grass grow upon the mountains;

Who gives food to beasts and to the young ravens that cry.

10 He has no pleasure in the strength of a horse, nor does He delight in the legs of man.

11 The LORD delights in those who fear Him and expectantly await His mercy.

12 Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion!

13 For He has made the bars of the gates strong and has blessed your children within you.

14 He sets peace on your borders and satisfies you with the flour of wheat.

15 He sends forth His Commandment upon Earth; and His Word runs very swiftly.

16 He gives snow like wool and scatters the hoary frost like ashes.

17 He casts forth His ice like morsels. Who can abide the cold thereof?

18 He sends His Word and melts them. He causes His wind to blow and the waters to flow.

19 He shows His Word to Jacob, His statutes and His judgments to Israel.

20 He has not dealt so with every nation; nor have they known His judgments. Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD
