14 At that time, Abijah, the son of Jeroboam, fell sick.
2 And Jeroboam said to his wife, “Up, please, and disguise yourself, so that they do not know that you are the wife of Jeroboam. And go to Shiloh. For Ahijah the Prophet is there, who told me that I would be king over this people.
3 “And take with you ten loaves, and cakes, and a bottle of honey, and go to him. He shall tell you what shall become of the young man.”
4 And Jeroboam’s wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. But Ahijah could not see, for his sight was decayed because of his age.
5 Then the LORD said to Ahijah: “Behold, the wife of Jeroboam comes to ask something of you for her son, for he is sick. (Thus and thus) shall you say to her when she comes in. She shall pretend to be another.”
6 Therefore, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet as she came in at the door, he said, “Come in, wife of Jeroboam. Why do you pretend to be another? I am sent to you with heavy tidings.
7 “Go tell Jeroboam, ‘Thus says the LORD God of Israel: “Because I have exalted you among the people, and have made you prince over My people Israel,
8 “and have torn the kingdom away from the House of David and have given it to you. And you have not been as My servant David, who kept My Commandments and followed Me with all his heart and did only that which was right in My Eyes,
9 “but have done evil above all who were before you (for you have gone and made yourself other gods and molten images, to provoke Me, and have cast Me behind your back),
10 “therefore behold, I will bring evil upon the House of Jeroboam, and will cut off every male from Jeroboam, as well him who is shut up, as him who is left in Israel, and will sweep away the remnant of the House of Jeroboam, as a man sweeps away dung until it is all gone.
11 “The dogs shall eat him of Jeroboam who dies in the city, and the birds of the air shall eat him who dies in the field. For the LORD has said it.”’
12 “Up, therefore, and get to your house! For when your feet enter into the city, the child shall die.
13 “And all Israel shall mourn for him and bury him. For only he of Jeroboam shall come to the grave, because in him there is found some goodness toward the LORD God of Israel in the House of Jeroboam.
14 “Moreover, the LORD shall stir himself up a king over Israel, who shall destroy the House of Jeroboam on that day. What? Yea, even now!
15 “For the LORD shall strike Israel, as when a reed is shaken in the water. And He shall weed Israel out of this good land which He gave to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the river, because they have made themselves groves, provoking the LORD to anger.
16 “And He shall give Israel up, because of the sins of Jeroboam, who sinned and made Israel sin.”
17 And Jeroboam’s wife arose and departed and came to Tirzah. And when she came to the threshold of the house, the young man died.
18 And they buried him. And all Israel lamented him, according to the Word of the LORD which He spoke by the hand of his servant, Ahijah the Prophet.
19 And the rest of Jeroboam’s acts, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
20 And the days which Jeroboam reigned were twenty-two years. And he slept with his fathers. And Nadab, his son, reigned in his place.
21 Also Rehoboam, the son of Solomon, reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD chose out of all the tribes of Israel to put His Name. And his mother’s name was Naamah, an Ammonite.
22 And Judah worked wickedness in the sight of the LORD. And they provoked Him more with their sins which they had committed than all that which their fathers had done.
23 For they also made themselves high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree.
24 There were also Sodomites in the land. They did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD has cast out before the children of Israel.
25 And in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, Shishak, king of Egypt, came up against Jerusalem
26 and took the treasures from the House of the LORD, and the treasures from the king’s house, and took it all away. So, he carried away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made.
27 And King Rehoboam made bronze shields for them and committed them into the hands of the chief of the guard, who waited at the door of the king’s house.
28 And when the king went into the House of the LORD, the guard bore them and brought them back into the guard chamber.
29 And the rest of the acts of Rehoboam, and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
30 And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.
31 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the City of David. His mother’s name was Naamah, an Ammonite. And Abijam, his son, reigned in his place.
1 Paul, an Apostle of Jesus Christ, by the will of God, and Timothy, our brother,
2 To those who are at Colosse, saints and faithful brothers in Christ: Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, always praying for you,
4 having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love toward all saints,
5 because of the hope which is laid up for you in Heaven; of which you have heard before by the Word of Truth, which is the Gospel.
6 It has come to you even as it has to all the world and is fruitful, as it was also among you from the day that you heard and truly knew the grace of God;
7 as you also learned from Epaphras (our dear fellow servant), who is for you a faithful minister of Christ.
8 He has also declared to us your love in the Spirit.
9 For this reason, we also (since the day we heard of it) do not cease to pray for you and to desire that you might be fulfilled with knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10 so that you might walk worthily of the Lord and please Him in all things, being fruitful in all good works and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 strengthened with all might through His glorious power, leading to all patience and endurance with joy;
12 giving thanks to the Father Who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light;
13 Who has delivered us from the power of darkness and has transferred us into the Kingdom of His dear Son
14 (in Whom we have redemption through His blood; that is, the forgiveness of sins).
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creation.
16 For by Him were all things created which are in Heaven and which are on Earth—things visible and invisible —whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
17 And He is before all things. And in Him all things consist.
18 And He is the Head of the body of the Church. He is the Beginning; Firstborn from the dead; so that in all things He might have preeminence.
19 For in Him was all fullness pleased to dwell.
20 And through Him were all things reconciled to Himself, having made peace by the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on Earth or things in Heaven.
21 And you also - who were in times past estranged and hostile because your minds were set on evil works - He has now reconciled
22 in the body of His flesh through death; to present you as holy and blameless and beyond reproach in His sight
23 if you continue to be grounded and established in the faith and are not moved away from the hope of the Gospel which you have heard (having been preached to all creation under Heaven, and to which I, Paul, am a minister).
24 Now, I rejoice in my sufferings for you and fulfill in my flesh the rest of the afflictions of Christ for His body’s sake (which is the Church
25 and whereof I am a minister) according to the dispensation of God which has been given me toward you to fulfill the Word of God;
26 and which is the mystery hidden from all ages and generations and now made visible to his saints;
27 to whom God would make known the riches of His glorious mystery among the Gentiles – which is Christ in you, the hope of Glory;
28 Whom we preach, admonishing everyone, and teaching everyone in all wisdom, that we may present everyone complete in Christ Jesus.
29 Toward this I also toil, striving according to His miraculous power working in me.
44 Then He brought me toward the gate of the outer Sanctuary, which turns toward the East. And it was shut.
2 Then said the LORD to me, “This gate shall be shut and shall not be opened. And no man shall enter by it, because the Lord GOD of Israel has entered by it; and it shall be shut.
3 “As for the prince: The prince himself shall sit in it to eat bread before the LORD. He shall enter by way of the porch of that gate, and shall go out by the way of the same.”
4 Then He brought me toward the North gate, in front of the House. And when I looked, behold, the Glory of the LORD filled the House of the LORD. And I fell upon my face.
5 And the LORD said to me, “Son of man, mark well and behold with your eyes, and hear with your ears, all that I say to you concerning all the Ordinances of the House of the LORD and all its Laws; and mark well every entrance to the House with every exit from the Sanctuary.
6 “And you shall say to the rebellious, to the House of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, O House of Israel: “Enough of all your abominations,
7 “when you have brought in strangers, who are uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in My Sanctuary, to pollute My House when you offer My bread, fat, and blood. And they have broken My Covenant because of all your abominations.
8 “For you have not kept the Ordinances of My Holy things. But you yourselves have set others to take charge of My Sanctuary.”
9 ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “No stranger, either uncircumcised in heart or uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into My Sanctuary, out of any stranger among the children of Israel.
10 “And the Levites who went back from Me when Israel went astray, who went astray from Me after their idols, they shall bear their iniquity.
11 “Yet, they shall serve in My Sanctuary, and keep the gates of the House, and minister in the House. They shall kill the Burnt Offering and the Sacrifice for the people. And they shall stand before them, to serve them.
12 “Because they served before their idols, and caused the House of Israel to fall into iniquity, I have therefore lifted up My Hand against them,” says the Lord GOD, “and they shall bear their iniquity.
13 “And they shall not come near Me to do the office of the Priest to Me. Nor shall they come near any of My holy things in the Most Holy Place. But they shall bear their shame and their abominations which they have committed.
14 “And I will make them keepers of the watch of the House, for all its service, and for all that shall be done in it.
15 “But the Priests of the Levites, the sons of Zadok, who kept charge of My Sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from Me, they shall come near Me, to serve Me. And they shall stand before Me, to offer Me the fat and the blood,” says the Lord GOD.
16 “They shall enter into My Sanctuary, and shall come near to My Table, to serve Me. And they shall keep My charge.
17 “And when they shall enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments. And no wool shall come upon them while they serve in the gates of the inner court, and within.
18 “They shall have linen turbans upon their heads and shall have linen undergarments upon their loins. They shall not gird themselves with anything that causes sweat.
19 “But when they go forth into the outer court, to the outer court to the people, they shall take off their garments in which they ministered and lay them in the holy chambers; and they shall put on other garments. For they shall not sanctify the people with their garments.
20 “Also, they shall not shave their heads or allow their locks to grow long, but around their heads.
21 “Nor shall any Priest drink wine when he enters into the inner court.
22 “Nor shall they take for their wives a widow, or her who is divorced. But they shall take maidens of the seed of the House of Israel, or a widow who has been the widow of a Priest.
23 “And they shall teach My people the difference between the holy and profane and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.
24 “And in controversy, they shall stand to judge. And they shall judge it according to My Judgments. And they shall keep My Laws and My Statutes in all My assemblies. And they shall sanctify My Sabbaths.
25 “And they shall not come near any dead person, to defile themselves, except for their father, mother, son, daughter, brother or sister who has yet had no husband. In only these may they be defiled.
26 “And when he is cleansed, they shall count seven days for himself.
27 “And when he goes into the Sanctuary, into the inner court, to minister in the Sanctuary, he shall offer his Sin Offering,” says the Lord GOD.
28 “And the Priesthood shall be their inheritance. I am their inheritance. Therefore, you shall give them no possession in Israel. I am their possession.
29 “They shall eat the Meat Offering, and the Sin Offering, and the Trespass Offering. And every dedicated thing in Israel shall be theirs.
30 “And the first of all the firstborn, and every oblation, all of every sort of your oblations shall be the Priest’s. You shall also give the Priest the first of your dough, so that he may cause the blessing to rest in your house.
31 “The Priests shall not eat of anything that is dead or torn, whether it be bird or beast.”
97 The LORD reigns. Let the Earth rejoice! Let the multitude of the isles be glad.
2 Clouds and darkness surround Him. Righteousness and judgment are the foundation of His throne.
3 A fire shall go before Him and burn up His enemies all around.
4 His lightnings gave light to the world. The Earth saw it and was afraid.
5 The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the LORD of the whole Earth.
6 The heavens declare His righteousness, and all the people see His Glory.
7 All those who serve graven images, who glory in idols, are confounded. Worship Him all you gods.
8 Zion heard of it and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of Your judgments, O LORD.
9 For You, LORD, are Most High above all the Earth. You are much exalted above all gods.
10 You who love the LORD, hate evil. He preserves the souls of His saints. He will deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
11 Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart.
12 Rejoice in the LORD, you righteous; and give thanks for His holy remembrance. A Psalm
98 Sing to the LORD a new song; for He has done marvelous things! His right hand and His holy arm have gotten Him the victory.
2 The LORD declared His salvation. He has revealed His righteousness in the sight of the nations.
3 He has remembered His mercy and His truth toward the House of Israel. All the ends of the Earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4 Sing loud to the LORD, all the Earth! Cry out and rejoice; and sing praises!
5 Sing praise to the LORD upon the harp, upon the harp with a singing voice.
6 With shofars and sound of trumpets sing loud before the LORD the King.
7 Let the sea roar and all that therein is, the world and those who dwell therein.
8 Let the floods clap their hands! Let the mountains rejoice together
9 before the LORD! For He has come to judge the Earth. With righteousness shall He judge the world, and the people with equity.
