Who may stand in His holy place?(C)

He will receive blessing from the Lord,(F)

Such is the generation of those who seek Him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob.[b](H)Selah

Lift up your heads, you gates!
Rise up, ancient doors!
Then the King of glory will come in.(I)
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord, strong and mighty,
the Lord, mighty in battle.(J)
Lift up your heads, you gates!
Rise up, ancient doors!
Then the King of glory will come in.
10 Who is He, this King of glory?
The Lord of Hosts,
He is the King of glory.(K)Selah

Ascribe to Yahweh, you heavenly beings,[a]
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due His name;
worship Yahweh
in the splendor of His holiness.[b](A)

The voice of the Lord is above the waters.
The God of glory thunders—
the Lord, above vast waters,(B)
the voice of the Lord in power,
the voice of the Lord in splendor.(C)
The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
the Lord shatters the cedars of Lebanon.(D)

and Sirion,[c] like a young wild ox.(F)
The voice of the Lord flashes flames of fire.(G)
The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness;
the Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.(H)
The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth[d](I)
and strips the woodlands bare.(J)

In His temple all cry, “Glory!”

10 The Lord sat enthroned at the flood;
the Lord sits enthroned, King forever.(K)
11 The Lord gives His people strength;(L)
the Lord blesses His people with peace.(M)

Psalm 8

Psalm 8

God’s Glory, Man’s Dignity

For the choir director: on the Gittith.(A) A Davidic psalm.

Yahweh, our Lord,
how magnificent is Your name throughout the earth!(B)

You have covered the heavens with Your majesty.[a](C)
Because of Your adversaries,
You have established a stronghold[b]
from the mouths of children and nursing infants(D)
to silence the enemy and the avenger.

When I observe Your heavens,
the work of Your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which You set in place,(E)
what is man that You remember him,
the son of man that You look after him?(F)
You made him little less than God[c][d]
and crowned him with glory and honor.
You made him lord over the works of Your hands;
You put everything under his feet:[e](G)
all the sheep and oxen,
as well as the animals in the wild,
the birds of the sky,
and the fish of the sea
that pass through the currents of the seas.(H)

Yahweh, our Lord,
how magnificent is Your name throughout the earth!

Psalm 84

Psalm 84

Longing for God’s House

For the choir director: on the Gittith.(A) A psalm of the sons of Korah.

How lovely is Your dwelling place,
Lord of Hosts.(B)
I long and yearn
for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and flesh cry out for[a] the living God.(C)

Even a sparrow finds a home,
and a swallow, a nest for herself
where she places her young—
near Your altars, Lord of Hosts,
my King and my God.(D)
How happy are those who reside in Your house,
who praise You continually.(E)Selah

Happy are the people whose strength is in You,
whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.(F)
As they pass through the Valley of Baca,[b]
they make it a source of springwater;
even the autumn rain will cover it with blessings.[c](G)
They go from strength to strength;
each appears before God in Zion.(H)

Lord God of Hosts, hear my prayer;
listen, God of Jacob.(I)Selah
Consider our shield,[d] God;(J)
look on the face of Your anointed one.(K)

10 Better a day in Your courts
than a thousand anywhere else.
I would rather be at the door of the house of my God
than to live in the tents of wicked people.(L)
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield.(M)
The Lord gives grace and glory;
He does not withhold the good
from those who live with integrity.(N)
12 Happy is the person who trusts in You,
Lord of Hosts!(O)

2 Thessalonians 2:13-17

Stand Firm

13 But we must always thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning[a] God has chosen(A) you for salvation through sanctification(B) by the Spirit and through belief in the truth. 14 He called you to this through our gospel, so that you might obtain the glory(C) of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 Therefore, brothers, stand firm(D) and hold to the traditions you were taught,(E) either by our message or by our letter.

16 May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved(F) us and given us eternal encouragement and good hope by grace, 17 encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good work and word.

Matthew 7:7-14

Keep Asking, Searching, Knocking

“Keep asking,[a](A) and it will be given to you.(B) Keep searching,[b] and you will find. Keep knocking,[c] and the door[d] will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who searches finds,(C) and to the one who knocks, the door[e] will be opened. What man among you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you then, who are evil,(D) know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! 12 Therefore, whatever you want others to do for you, do also the same for them—this is the Law and the Prophets.[f](E)

Entering the Kingdom

13 “Enter through the narrow gate.(F) For the gate is wide and the road is broad that leads to destruction,(G) and there are many who go through it. 14 How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it.
