Isaiah 43:8-13

Bring out a people who are blind, yet have eyes,(A)
and are deaf, yet have ears.
All the nations are gathered together,
and the peoples are assembled.(B)
Who among them can declare this,(C)
and tell us the former things?
Let them present their witnesses
to vindicate themselves,
so that people may hear and say, “It is true.”
10 “You are my witnesses”(D)
this is the Lord’s declaration—
“and my servant whom I have chosen,(E)
so that you may know and believe me
and understand that I am he.(F)
No god was formed before me,
and there will be none after me.(G)
11 I—I am the Lord.
Besides me, there is no Savior.(H)
12 I alone declared, saved, and proclaimed—
and not some foreign god[a] among you.
So you are my witnesses”—
this is the Lord’s declaration—
“and[b] I am God.(I)
13 Also, from today on I am he alone,
and none can rescue from my power.(J)
I act, and who can reverse it?” (K)

1 Peter 2:2-10

Like newborn infants, desire the pure milk of the word,[a](A) so that by it you may grow up into your salvation, if you have tasted(B) that the Lord is good.[b](C) As you come to him, a living stone—rejected by people but chosen and honored by[c] God— you yourselves, as living stones, a spiritual house, are being built to be a holy priesthood[d] to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God(D) through Jesus Christ. For it stands in Scripture:

See, I lay a stone in Zion,(E)
a chosen and honored[e] cornerstone,(F)
and the one who believes in him
will never be put to shame.[f](G)

So honor will come to you who believe; but for the unbelieving,

The stone that the builders rejected—
this one has become the cornerstone,[g](H)

and

A stone to stumble over,
and a rock to trip over.[h](I)

They stumble because they disobey the word; they were destined(J) for this.

But you are a chosen race,[i][j](K) a royal priesthood,[k](L) a holy nation,[l](M) a people for his possession,[m](N) so that you may proclaim the praises[n][o](O) of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.(P) 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; you had not received mercy,(Q) but now you have received mercy.

John 14:1-7

The Way to the Father

14 “Don’t let your heart be troubled.(A) Believe[a] in God; (B) believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going (C) to prepare a place for you? If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come again(D) and take you to myself, so that where I am you may be also.(E) You know the way to where I am going.”[b](F)

“Lord,” Thomas(G) said, “we don’t know where you’re going. How can we know the way?”

Jesus told him, “I am(H) the way,(I) the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you know me, you will also know[c] my Father.(J) From now on you do know him(K) and have seen him.”
