Psalm 30

You Have Turned My Mourning into Dancing

A Psalm. A Song at the Dedication of the House. Of David.

30 I will (A)exalt You, O Yahweh, for You have (B)lifted me up,
And have not let my (C)enemies be glad over me.
O Yahweh my God,
I (D)cried to You for help, and You (E)healed me.
O Yahweh, You have (F)brought up my soul from Sheol;
You have kept me alive, [a]that I would not (G)go down to the pit.
(H)Sing praise to Yahweh, you (I)His holy ones,
And (J)give thanks for the (K)remembrance of His holy name.
For (L)His anger is but for a moment,
His (M)favor is for a lifetime;
Weeping may (N)last for the night,
But a shout of joy comes in the morning.

Now as for me, I said in my prosperity,
“I will (O)never be shaken.”
O Yahweh, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong;
You (P)hid Your face, I was dismayed.
To You, O Yahweh, I called,
And to the Lord I made supplication:
“What profit is there in my blood, if I (Q)go down to the pit?
Will the (R)dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth?

10 (S)Hear, O Yahweh, and be gracious to me;
O Yahweh, be my (T)helper.”
11 You have turned for me (U)my mourning into dancing;
You have (V)loosed my sackcloth and girded me with (W)gladness,
12 That my [b](X)glory may sing praise to You and not be silent.
O Yahweh my God, I will (Y)give thanks to You forever.

Psalm 32

You Forgave the Iniquity of My Sin

Of David. A [a]Maskil.

32 (A)How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
Whose sin is covered!
How blessed is the man whose iniquity Yahweh (B)will not take into account,
And in whose spirit there is (C)no deceit!

When (D)I kept silent about my sin, (E)my [b]bones wasted away
Through my [c](F)groaning all day long.
For day and night (G)Your hand was heavy upon me;
My [d](H)vitality was drained away as with the heat of summer. [e]Selah.
I (I)acknowledged my sin to You,
And my iniquity I (J)did not cover up;
I said, “(K)I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh;”
And You (L)forgave the [f]iniquity of my sin. Selah.
Therefore, let every holy one pray to You [g](M)at a time when You may be found;
Surely (N)in a flood of great waters they will not reach him.
You are (O)my hiding place; You (P)guard me from trouble;
You surround me with [h](Q)songs of deliverance. Selah.

I will (R)give you insight and teach you in the way which you should go;
I will counsel you (S)with My eye upon you.
Do not be (T)as the horse or as the mule which have no understanding,
Whose harness are bit and bridle to control them,
Otherwise they will not come near you.
10 Many are the (U)sorrows of the wicked,
But (V)he who trusts in Yahweh, lovingkindness shall surround him.
11 Be (W)glad in Yahweh and rejoice, you righteous ones;
And shout for joy, all you who are (X)upright in heart.

Psalm 42-43

BOOK 2

My Soul Thirsts for God

For the choir director. A [a]Maskil of the sons of Korah.

42 As the deer [b]pants for the water brooks,
So my soul [c](A)pants for You, O God.
My soul (B)thirsts for God, for the (C)living God;
When shall I come and [d](D)appear before God?
My (E)tears have been my food day and night,
While they (F)say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”
These things I remember and I (G)pour out my soul within me.
For I (H)used to go along with the throng and [e]lead them in procession to the house of God,
With the sound of a (I)shout of joy and thanksgiving, a multitude keeping festival.

(J)Why are you [f](K)in despair, O my soul?
And why are you (L)disturbed within me?
(M)Wait for God, for I shall still praise Him,
[g]For the [h](N)salvation of His presence.
O my God, my soul is [i]in despair within me;
Therefore I (O)remember You from (P)the land of the Jordan
And the [j]peaks of (Q)Hermon, from Mount Mizar.
Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls;
All Your (R)breakers and Your waves have rolled over me.
By day, Yahweh will (S)command His lovingkindness;
And (T)by night, His song will be with me,
A prayer to (U)the God of my life.

I say to God (V)my rock, “Why have You forgotten me?
Why do I go (W)mourning [k]because of the (X)oppression of the enemy?”
10 As a shattering of my bones, my adversaries reproach me,
While they (Y)say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”
11 (Z)Why are you [l]in despair, O my soul?
And why are you disturbed within me?
Wait for God, for I shall still praise Him,
The salvation of my presence and my God.

Send Out Your Light and Your Truth

43 (AA)Give justice to me, O God, and (AB)plead my case against an unholy nation;
[m]Oh protect me from (AC)the deceitful and unrighteous man!
For You are the (AD)God of my strength; why have You (AE)rejected me?
Why do I go (AF)mourning [n]because of the oppression of the enemy?

Oh send out Your (AG)light and Your truth, let them lead me;
Let them bring me to Your (AH)holy mountain
And to Your (AI)dwelling places.
Then I will go to (AJ)the altar of God,
To God [o]my exceeding (AK)joy;
And upon the (AL)lyre I shall praise You, O God, my God.

(AM)Why are you [p]in despair, O my soul?
And why are you disturbed within me?
Wait for God, for I shall still praise Him,
The salvation of my presence and my God.

Deuteronomy 7:17-26

17 “If you should say in your heart, ‘These nations are more numerous than I; how can I (A)dispossess them?’ 18 you shall not be afraid of them; you shall well (B)remember what Yahweh your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt: 19 (C)the great trials which your eyes saw and the signs and the wonders and the mighty hand and the outstretched arm by which Yahweh your God brought you out. So shall Yahweh your God do to all the peoples of whom you are afraid. 20 Moreover, Yahweh your God will send (D)the hornet against them until those who remain and hide themselves from you perish. 21 You shall not dread [a]them, for (E)Yahweh your God is in your midst, (F)a great and fearsome God. 22 (G)And Yahweh your God will clear away these nations before you little by little; you will not be able to put an end to them quickly, lest the [b]wild beasts become too numerous for you. 23 (H)But Yahweh your God will give them over before you and will [c]throw them into great confusion until they are destroyed. 24 (I)And He will give their kings into your hand so that you will make their name perish from under heaven; (J)no man will be able to stand before you until you have destroyed them. 25 The graven images of their gods you are to (K)burn with fire; you shall (L)not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it for yourselves, lest you be (M)snared by it, for it is an (N)abomination to Yahweh your God. 26 And you shall not bring an abomination into your house and become devoted to (O)destruction like it; you shall utterly detest it, and you shall utterly abhor it, for it is devoted to destruction.

Titus 3

Be Ready for Every Good Work

(A)Remind them (B)to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be (C)ready for every good work, to slander no one, (D)to be peaceable, (E)considerate, (F)demonstrating all gentleness to all men. (G)For we ourselves also once were foolish, (H)disobedient, (I)deceived, (J)enslaved to (K)various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in (L)malice and (M)envy, despicable, hating one another. But when the (N)kindness and affection of (O)God our Savior (P)appeared, (Q)He saved us, (R)not by works which we did in righteousness, but (S)according to His mercy, through the (T)washing of regeneration and (U)renewing by the Holy Spirit, (V)whom He poured out upon us (W)richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that having been justified by His grace, we would become (X)heirs [a]according to the hope of eternal life. (Y)This is a trustworthy saying. And concerning these things I (Z)want you to speak confidently, so that those who have (AA)believed God will be intent to (AB)lead in good works. These things are good and profitable for men. But (AC)avoid (AD)foolish controversies and (AE)genealogies and strife and (AF)conflicts about the Law, for they are (AG)unprofitable and worthless. 10 (AH)Reject a (AI)factious man (AJ)after a first and second warning, 11 knowing that such a man is (AK)perverted and is sinning, being self-condemned.

Personal Instructions and Greetings

12 When I send Artemas or (AL)Tychicus to you, (AM)be diligent to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to (AN)spend the winter there. 13 Diligently help send Zenas the (AO)lawyer and (AP)Apollos on their way so that nothing is lacking for them. 14 (AQ)And our people must also learn to (AR)lead in good [b]works to meet (AS)pressing needs, so that they will not be (AT)unfruitful.

15 (AU)All who are with me greet you. Greet those who love us (AV)in the faith.

(AW)Grace be with you all.

John 1:43-51

43 (A)On the next day, He desired to go into (B)Galilee, and He *found (C)Philip. And Jesus *said to him, (D)Follow Me.” 44 Now (E)Philip was from (F)Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. 45 (G)Philip *found (H)Nathanael and *said to him, “We have found Him of whom (I)Moses in the Law and also (J)the Prophets wrote—Jesus of (K)Nazareth, (L)the son of Joseph.” 46 And Nathanael said to him, “(M)Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” (N)Philip *said to him, “Come and see.” 47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and *said about him, “Behold, truly an (O)Israelite in whom there is no deceit!” 48 Nathanael *said to Him, “From where do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before (P)Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” 49 Nathanael answered Him, “(Q)Rabbi, You are (R)the Son of God; You are the (S)King of Israel.” 50 Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” 51 And He *said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see (T)the heavens opened and (U)the angels of God ascending and descending on (V)the Son of Man.”
