Psalm 97-98

Remember His Holy Name

97 (A)Yahweh [a]reigns, let the (B)earth rejoice;
Let the many (C)coastlands be glad.
(D)Clouds and thick darkness are all around Him;
(E)Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.
(F)Fire goes before Him
And (G)burns up His adversaries all around.
His (H)lightnings light up the world;
The earth sees and (I)trembles.
The mountains (J)melt like wax at the presence of Yahweh,
At the presence of the (K)Lord of all the earth.
The (L)heavens declare His righteousness,
And (M)all the peoples see His glory.

Let all those be ashamed who serve (N)graven images,
Who boast of (O)idols;
[b](P)Worship Him, all you [c]gods!
Zion [d]heard this and (Q)was glad,
And the daughters of Judah have rejoiced
Because of Your judgments, O Yahweh.
For You are Yahweh (R)Most High over all the earth;
You are exalted far (S)above all [e]gods.

10 (T)Hate evil, you who love Yahweh,
Who (U)keeps the souls of His holy ones;
He (V)delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
11 (W)Light is sown for the righteous
And (X)gladness for the upright in heart.
12 Be (Y)glad in Yahweh, you righteous ones,
And (Z)give thanks for the remembrance of [f]His holy name.

Sing to Yahweh a New Song

A Psalm.

98 Sing to Yahweh a (AA)new song,
For He has done (AB)wondrous deeds,
His (AC)right hand and His (AD)holy arm have [g]worked out His salvation.
(AE)Yahweh has made known His salvation;
He has (AF)revealed His righteousness in the eyes of the nations.
He has (AG)remembered His lovingkindness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel;
(AH)All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

(AI)Make a loud shout to Yahweh, all the earth;
(AJ)Break forth and sing for joy and sing praises.
Sing praises to Yahweh with the (AK)lyre,
With the lyre and the (AL)sound of singing.
With (AM)trumpets and the sound of the horn
(AN)Make a loud shout before (AO)King Yahweh.

Let the (AP)sea roar, as well as its fullness,
The (AQ)world and those who dwell in it.
Let the (AR)rivers clap their hands,
Let the (AS)mountains sing together for joy
Before Yahweh, for He is coming to (AT)judge the earth;
He will judge the world with righteousness
And (AU)the peoples with [h]equity.

Proverbs 8:22-30

22 “Yahweh possessed me (A)at the beginning of His way,
Before His deeds [a]of old.
23 From everlasting I was [b](B)installed,
From the beginning, (C)from the earliest times of the earth.
24 When there were no (D)depths I was [c]brought forth,
When there were no springs heavy with water.
25 (E)Before the mountains were settled,
Before the hills I was [d]brought forth;
26 While He had not yet made the earth and the fields outside,
Nor the first dust of the world.
27 When He (F)established the heavens, I was there,
When (G)He marked out a circle on the face of the deep,
28 When He made firm the skies above,
When the springs of the deep became strong,
29 When (H)He set for the sea its boundary
So that the water would not pass over His [e]command,
When He marked out (I)the foundations of the earth;
30 Then (J)I was beside Him, as a master workman;
And I was a daily delight,
[f]Rejoicing always before Him,

John 13:20-35

20 Truly, truly, I say to you, (A)he who receives anyone I send receives Me; and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.”

Jesus Predicts His Betrayal

21 When Jesus had said these things, He (B)became troubled in spirit, and bore witness and said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, that (C)one of you will [a]betray Me.” 22 The disciples began looking at one another, (D)perplexed about whom He *spoke. 23 There was reclining on (E)Jesus’ bosom one of His disciples, (F)whom Jesus loved. 24 So Simon Peter *gestured to him to inquire, “Who is the one of whom He is speaking?” 25 He, (G)leaning back thus on Jesus’ bosom, *said to Him, “Lord, who is it?” 26 Jesus *answered, “He is the one for whom I shall dip the piece of bread and give it to him.” So when He had dipped the piece of bread, He *took and *gave it to Judas, (H)the son of Simon Iscariot. 27 And after the piece of bread, (I)Satan then (J)entered into him. Therefore Jesus *said to him, “What you do, do quickly.” 28 Now no one of those reclining at the table knew for what purpose He had said this to him. 29 For some were thinking, because Judas (K)had the money box, that Jesus was saying to him, “Buy the things we have need of (L)for the feast”; or else, that he should (M)give something to the poor. 30 So after receiving the piece of bread, he went out immediately. And (N)it was night.

31 Therefore when he had gone out, Jesus *said, “Now [b]is (O)the Son of Man (P)glorified, and (Q)God [c]is glorified in Him; 32 [d]if God is glorified in Him, (R)God will also glorify Him in Himself, and will glorify Him immediately. 33 (S)Little children, I am with you (T)a little while longer. (U)You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, now I also say to you, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come.’ 34 A (V)new commandment I give to you, (W)that you love one another, (X)even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 (Y)By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

1 John 5:1-12

Overcoming the World

(A)Everyone who believes that Jesus is the [a]Christ has been [b](B)born of God, and everyone who loves the [c]One who gives new birth (C)loves also the one who has been [d]born of Him. (D)By this we know that (E)we love the children of God, when we love God and do His commandments. For (F)this is the love of God, that we (G)keep His commandments; and (H)His commandments are not burdensome. For everything that has been [e](I)born of God (J)overcomes the world; and this is the overcoming that has overcome the world—our faith.

Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who (K)believes that Jesus is the Son of God? This is the One who came (L)by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not [f]with the water only, but [g]with the water and [h]with the blood. It is (M)the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are (N)three that bear witness: [i]the Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are [j]in agreement. (O)If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for the witness of God is this, that (P)He has borne witness about His Son. 10 The one who believes in the Son of God (Q)has this witness in himself. The one who does not believe God has (R)made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the witness which God has borne witness about His Son. 11 And the witness is this, that God gave us (S)eternal life, and (T)this life is in His Son. 12 (U)He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have that life.
