Version
Psalm 87

87 God laid His foundations among the holy mountains.

The LORD loves the gates of Zion above all the habitations of Jacob.

Glorious things are spoken of You, O City of God! Selah.

I will make mention of Rahab and Babel among those who know me. Behold Palestine and Tyre with Ethiopia. There He is born.

And it shall be said of Zion, “Many are born in her; and He, the Most High, shall establish her.”

The LORD shall count, when He writes the people, “He was born there.” Selah.

Both the singers and the players on instruments shall praise You, “All my springs are in You.” A song, or Psalm, of Heman the Ezrahite, to give instruction; committed to the sons of Korah for him who excels upon Mahalath Leannoth

Psalm 90

90 LORD, You have been our habitation from generation to generation.

Before the mountains were made (and You had formed the Earth and the world), even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.

You turn man to contrition. Again, You say, “Return, you sons of Adam.”

For a thousand years in Your sight are as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

You have overflowed them. They are asleep. In the morning, they grow like the grass.

In the morning it flourishes and grows. In the evening, it is cut down and withers.

For we are consumed by Your anger; and by Your wrath are we troubled.

You have set our iniquities before You, and our secret sins in the light of Your countenance.

For all our days have passed away in Your anger. We have spent our years as a thought.

10 The time of our life is threescore years and ten (and if they be of strength, fourscore years). Yet, their strength is but labor and sorrow; for it is cut off quickly and we flee away.

11 Who knows the power of Your wrath? For according to Your fear is Your anger.

12 Teach us to number our days, so that we may apply our hearts to wisdom.

13 Return (O LORD, how long?) and be pacified toward Your servants.

14 Fill us with Your mercy in the morning. So shall we rejoice and be glad all our days!

15 Comfort us according to the days that You have afflicted us, according to the years that we have seen evil.

16 Let Your work be seen toward Your servants, and Your Glory upon their children.

17 And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us and direct the work of our hands upon us, even direct the work of our hands.

Psalm 136

136 Praise the LORD, because He is good; for His mercy endures forever!

Praise the God of gods; for His mercy endures forever!

Praise the Lord of lords; for His mercy endures forever!

Who only does great wonders; for His mercy endures forever.

Who, by His wisdom, made the heavens; for His mercy endures forever.

Who has stretched out the Earth upon the waters; for His mercy endures forever.

Who made great lights; for His mercy endures forever

(such as the Sun to rule the day, for His mercy endures forever,

the Moon and the stars to govern the night, for His mercy endures forever).

10 Who struck Egypt with their firstborn, for His mercy endures forever,

11 and brought out Israel from among them, for His mercy endures forever,

12 with a mighty hand and outstretched arm; for His mercy endures forever.

13 Who divides the sea into two parts, for His mercy endures forever,

14 and made Israel pass through the midst of it, for His mercy endures forever,

15 and overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea; for His mercy endures forever.

16 Who led His people through the wilderness; for His mercy endures forever:

17 Who struck great kings, for His mercy endures forever,

18 and slew mighty kings, for His mercy endures forever

19 (Sihon, king of the Amorites, for His mercy endures forever,

20 Og, the king of Bashan, for His mercy endures forever),

21 and gave their land for a heritage, for His mercy endures forever

22 (a heritage to Israel his servant; for his mercy endures forever).

23 Who remembered us in our low estate, for His mercy endures forever,

24 and has rescued us from our oppressors; for His mercy endures forever.

25 Who gives food to all flesh; for His mercy endures forever.

26 Praise the God of Heaven; for His mercy endures forever!

Hosea 1:1-2

The Word of the LORD that came to Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, the son of Joash, king of Israel.

At the beginning, the LORD spoke by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea: “Go. Take to you a wife of fornications, and children of fornications. For the land has committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD.”

So he went and took Gomer, the daughter of Diblaim, who conceived and bore him a son.

And the LORD said to him: “Call his name Jezreel. For in a little while, I will visit the blood of Jezreel upon the House of Jehu and will make the kingdom of the House of Israel cease.

“And at that time, I will also break the bow of Israel in the Valley of Jezreel.”

She conceived yet again and bore a daughter. And God said to him, “Call her name Lo-Ruhamah. For I will no longer have pity upon the House of Israel. But I will utterly take them away.

“Yet I will have mercy upon the House of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow or by sword or by battle, by horses or by horsemen.”

Now, when she had weaned Lo-Ruhamah, she conceived and bore a son.

Then God said: “Call his name Lo-Ammi. For you are not My people. Therefore, I will not be Yours.

10 “Still, the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured or told. And in the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ it shall be said to them, ‘You are the sons of the living God.’

11 “Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together to appoint themselves one head. And they shall come up out of the land. For great is the day of Jezreel.”

“Say to your brethren, ‘Ammi,’ and to your sisters, ‘Ruhamah!’

Acts 20:1-16

20 Now after the disturbance abated, Paul called the disciples to him, and embraced them, and left for Macedonia.

And when he had gone through those parts, and had encouraged them with many words, he came into Greece.

And after staying there for three months, he was about to sail for Syria. But he decided to return through Macedonia because the Jews had set a trap for him.

And Sopater of Berea accompanied him into Asia, as well as Aristarchus and Secundus of Thessalonica, and Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy, and the Asians, Tychicus and Trophimus.

These went ahead and awaited us at Troas.

And after the days of Unleavened Bread, we sailed from Philippi. And five days later we joined them at Troas, where we stayed for seven days.

And the first day of the week (the disciples having come together to break bread), Paul, ready to leave the next day, preached to them, and continued preaching until midnight.

And there were many lights in the upper room where they were gathered together.

And a certain young man named Eutychus had fallen into a dead sleep while sitting in a window. And as Paul preached at length, he was overcome with sleep and fell down from the third story and was taken up dead.

10 But Paul went down, and laid himself on him, and embraced him, saying, “Do not trouble yourselves. For his life is in him.”

11 Then, after having come up again and broken bread and eaten, he talked a long while (till daybreak) and left.

12 And they brought the boy (alive). And they were not a little comforted.

13 But we went ahead to the ship and sailed to Assos, so that we might receive Paul there. For so had he arranged and would himself go on foot.

14 Now when he had met us in Assos, and we had received him, we went to Mitylene.

15 And we sailed from there the next day and came opposite Chios. And the next day we arrived at Samos and stayed in Trogyllium. The next day we came to Miletus.

16 For Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, because he did not want to spend time in Asia. For he hurried to be at Jerusalem, if possible, on the day of Pentecost.

Luke 4:38-44

38 And He rose up, and came out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon’s house. And Simon’s wife’s mother was taken with a great fever, and they required Him for her.

39 Then He stood over her and rebuked the fever. And it left her. And immediately she arose and ministered to them.

40 Now at sunset, all those who had sick of diverse diseases, brought them to Him. And He laid his hands on every one of them and healed them.

41 And demons also came out of many, crying, and saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of God!” But He rebuked them and did not allow them to say that they knew Him to be the Christ.

42 And when it was day, He departed and went forth into a desert place. And the people sought Him, and came to Him, and kept Him from leaving.

43 But He said to them, “Surely I must also preach the Kingdom of God to other cities. For that is why I was sent.”

44 And He preached in the synagogues of Galilee.
