Psalm 50

50 The God of gods, The LORD, has spoken and called the Earth, from the rising up of the Sun to the going down thereof.

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, has God shined.

Our God shall come and shall not keep silent. A fire shall devour before Him, and a mighty storm shall be moved around Him.

He shall call the heaven above and the Earth, to judge His people.

“Gather My saints together to Me, those who make a covenant with Me with sacrifice.”

And the heavens shall declare His righteousness; for God is Judge Himself. Selah.

“Hear, O My people, and I will speak. Hear, O Israel, and I will testify to you. I am God. Your God.

“I will not rebuke you for your sacrifices or your burnt offerings continually before me.

“I will take no bullock out of your house, nor goats out of your folds.

10 “For all the beasts of the forest are Mine, the beasts on a thousand mountains.

11 “I know all the birds on the mountains; and the wild beasts of the field are Mine.

12 “If I am hungry, I will not tell you. For the world is Mine and all that therein is.

13 “Will I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?

14 “Offer praise to God; and pay your vows to the Most High.

15 “And call upon Me on the day of trouble. I will deliver you and you shall glorify Me.”

16 But to the wicked God said, “Why have you declared My ordinances, that you would take My Covenant in your mouth,

17 “seeing you hate to be reformed and have cast My words behind you?

18 “For when you see a thief, you run with him; and you are partaker with the adulterers.

19 “You give your mouth to evil; and with your tongue you forge deceit.

20 “You sit and speak against your brother and slander your mother’s son.

21 “These things you have done; and I held My tongue. Therefore, you thought that I was like you. But I will rebuke you and set them in order before your eyes.

22 “Oh, consider this, you who forget God; lest I tear you in pieces and there are none who can deliver you.

23 “He who offers praise shall glorify Me. And to him who sets his way aright, I will show the salvation of God.” To him who excels: A Psalm of David, when the Prophet Nathan came to him, after he had gone into Bathsheba.

Psalm 59-60

59 O, my God, deliver me from my enemies. Defend me from those who rise up against me.

Deliver me from the wicked doers; and save me from the bloody men.

For lo, they have laid in wait for my soul. The mighty men have gathered against me, not for my offense, nor for my sin, O LORD.

Without fault on my part, they run and prepare themselves against me. Arise to assist me; and behold!

You, O LORD God of Hosts, O God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen. Do not be merciful to all who transgress maliciously. Selah.

They go to and fro in the evening. They bark like dogs and go about the city.

Behold, they brag in their talk, with swords in their lips (“For who hears?” they say).

But You, O LORD, shall hold them in derision. You shall laugh at all the heathen.

He is strong. I will wait upon You. For God is my Defense.

10 My merciful God will go before me. God will let me see my desire upon my enemies.

11 Do not kill them, lest my people forget it. But scatter them by Your power; and put them down, O LORD, our shield,

12 for the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips. And let them be taken in their pride, for their perjury and lies they speak.

13 Consume them in Your wrath. Consume them, so that they are no more; and let them know that God rules in Jacob unto the ends of the world. Selah.

14 And in the evening, they shall go to and fro and bark like dogs and go about the city.

15 They shall run here and there for food. Surely, they shall not be satisfied though they stay all night.

16 But I will sing of Your power and will praise Your mercy in the morning. For You have been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble.

17 To You, O my Strength, I will sing. For God is my Defense, my merciful God. To him who excels upon Shushan Eduth, or Michtam: A Psalm of David, to teach, when he fought against Aram Naharaim, and against Aram Zobah; when Joab returned and slew twelve thousand Edomites in the salt valley

60 O God, You have cast us out. You have scattered us. You have been angry. Turn again to us.

You have made the land tremble and have made it gape. Heal the breaches thereof, for it is shaken.

You have shown Your people heavy things. You have made us drink the wine of giddiness.

You have given a banner to those who fear You, so that it may be displayed, because of Your truth. Selah.

So that Your beloved may be delivered, help with Your right hand and hear me.

God has spoken in His holiness, “I will rejoice. I shall divide Shechem and measure the valley of Succoth.

“Gilead shall be Mine, and Manasseh shall be Mine. Ephraim also shall be the strength of My head. Judah is My lawgiver.

“Moab shall be My washpot. I will cast out My shoe over Edom. Philistia show yourself joyful for Me.”

Who will lead me into the strong city? Who will bring me to Edom?

10 Will not you, O God, Who has cast us off; Who did not go forth, O God, with our armies?

11 Give us help against trouble. For vain is the help of man.

12 Through God we shall do valiantly; for He shall tread down our enemies. To him who excels on Neginoth: A Psalm of David

Psalm 93

93 The LORD reigns and is clothed with majesty. The LORD is clothed and girded with power. Also, the world shall be established, so that it cannot be moved.

Your throne is established of old. You are from everlasting.

The floods have lifted up, O LORD. The floods have lifted up their voice. The floods lift up their waves.

The waves of the sea are marvelous through the noise of many waters. The LORD on High is more mighty.

Your testimonies are very sure. Holiness becomes Your House, O LORD, forever.

Psalm 96

96 Sing to the LORD a new song! Sing to the LORD all the Earth!

Sing to the LORD! Praise His Name! Declare His salvation from day to day.

Declare His Glory among all nations, His wonders among all people.

For the LORD is great and greatly to be praised. He is to be feared above all gods.

For all the gods of the people are idols. But the LORD made the heavens.

Strength and glory are before Him. Power and beauty are in His Sanctuary.

Give to the LORD, you families of the people! Give to the LORD glory and power!

Give to the LORD the glory of His Name. Bring an offering and enter into His courts.

Worship the LORD in the glorious Sanctuary. Tremble before Him, all the Earth.

10 Say among the nations, “The LORD reigns!” Surely, the world shall be stable and not move; and He shall judge the people in righteousness.

11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the Earth be glad! Let the sea roar, and all that therein is.

12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it! Let all the trees of the wood then rejoice

13 before the LORD. For He comes. For He comes to judge the Earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the people in His truth.

Job 29:1

29 So Job proceeded, and continued his parable, saying,

Job 31:1-23

31 “I made a covenant with my eyes. Why, then, should I look upon a maid?

“What portion is of God from above, and inheritance of the Almighty from on high?

“Is it not destruction to the wicked, and strange calamity to the workers of iniquity?

“Does He not behold my ways, and tell all my steps,

“if I have walked in vanity or if my foot has hurried to deceit?

“Let God weigh me in the just balance, and He shall know my uprightness.

“If my step has turned out of the way, or my heart has walked after my eye, or if any blot has clung to my hands,

“let me sow, and let another eat. Yea, let my plants be rooted out.

“If my heart has been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at the door of my neighbor,

10 “let my wife grind to another man, and let other men bow down upon her.

11 “For this is a wickedness, and iniquity, to be condemned.

12 “Yea, this is a fire that shall devour to destruction, and which shall root out all my increase.

13 “If I contemned the judgment of my servant, and of my maid, when they contended with me,

14 “what then shall I do when God stands up? And when He shall visit, what shall I answer?

15 “He Who has made me in the womb, has He not made him? Has not He alone fashioned us in the womb?

16 “If I kept the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail,

17 “or have eaten my morsels alone, and the fatherless has not eaten of them

18 “(for from my youth has he grown up with me, as with a father, and from my mother’s womb have I been a guide to her).

19 “If I have seen any perish for lack of clothing, or any poor without covering,

20 “if his loins have not thanked me because he was warmed with the fleece of my sheep,

21 “if I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless when I saw that I might help him in the gate,

22 “let my arm fall from my shoulder, and my arm be broken from the bone.

23 “For God’s punishment is fearful to me, and I could not be delivered from His Highness.

Acts 15:1-11

15 Then some from Judea came down and taught the brothers, saying, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”

And when there was great dissension and disputation by Paul and Barnabas against them, they ordained that Paul and Barnabas, and certain others of them, should go up to Jerusalem (to the apostles and elders) about this question.

Thus, being sent forth by the church, they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles. And they brought great joy to all the brothers.

And when they had come to Jerusalem, they were received by the church, and by the apostles and elders. And they told what things God had done through them.

“But,” they said, “some of the Pharisee sect who believed, rose up, saying that it was necessary to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the Law of Moses.”

Then the apostles and elders came together to consider this matter.

And when there had been great disputation, Peter rose up, and said to them, “Men, brothers, you know that a good while ago, God chose me from among us. So that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the Word of the Gospel and believe.

“And God, Who knows the hearts, bore them witness in giving the Holy Ghost to them even as to us.

“And after He had purified their hearts by faith, He made no distinction between us and them.

10 “Now, therefore, why do you tempt God, to lay a yoke on the disciples’ necks which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

11 “But we believe we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, just as they are.”

John 11:17-29

17 Then Jesus came and found that he had already been in the grave four days.

18 (Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles away.)

19 And many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them for their brother.

20 Then Martha, when she heard that Jesus was coming, went to meet Him. But Mary still sat in the house.

21 Then Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.

22 “But now, I also know that whatever you ask of God, God will give you.”

23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother shall rise again.”

24 “Martha said to Him, “I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection, at the last day.”

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.

26 “And whoever lives, and believes in Me, shall never die. Do you believe this?”

27 She said to Him, “Yes, Lord. I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, the One coming into the world.”

28 And when she had said this, she went her way, and secretly called Mary, her sister, saying, “The Master has come, and calls for you.”

29 And when she heard it, she arose quickly, and came to Him.
