Book of Common Prayer
116 I love the LORD, because He has heard my voice and my prayers.
2 For He has inclined His ear to me, when I called in my days.
3 The snares of death surrounded me and the griefs of the grave caught me. I found trouble and sorrow.
4 Then I called upon the Name of the LORD, “I implore You, O LORD, deliver my soul!”
5 The LORD is merciful and righteous; and our God is full of compassion.
6 The LORD preserves the simple. I was in misery and He saved me.
7 Return to your rest, O my soul; for the LORD has been beneficial to you.
8 For You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.
9 I shall walk before the LORD in the land of the living.
10 I believed. Therefore, I spoke. I was very troubled.
11 I said in my fear, “All men are liars.”
12 What shall I render to the LORD for all His benefits toward me?
13 I will take the Cup of Salvation and call upon the Name of the LORD.
14 I will pay my vows to the LORD even now, in the presence of all His people.
15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.
16 Behold, LORD, for I am Your servant. I am Your servant, the son of Your handmaid. You have broken my bonds.
17 I will offer a sacrifice of praise to You and will call upon the Name of the LORD.
18 I will pay my vows to the LORD even now, in the presence of all His people,
19 In the courts of the LORD’s house, even in the midst of You, O Jerusalem. Praise the LORD!
14 Rejoice, O daughter Zion! Be joyful, O Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, O daughter Jerusalem!
15 The LORD has taken away your judgments. He has cast out your enemy. The King of Israel, the LORD, is in your midst. You shall no longer see evil.
16 At that time it shall be said to Jerusalem, “Do not fear, O Zion! Do not let your hands be faint.
17 “The LORD your God in your midst is mighty! He will save! He will rejoice over you with joy! He will quiet Himself in His love. He will rejoice over you with joy.”
18 “After a certain time, I will gather the afflicted among you, those who bore the reproach for it.
19 “Behold, at that time, I will bruise all who afflict you. And I will save her who halts and gather her who was cast out. And I will gain them praise and fame in all the lands of their shame.
20 “At that time, I will bring you back. And then I will gather you. For I will give you a name and praise among all people of the Earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes,” says the LORD.
47 And Mary Magdalene and Mary Joses’ mother beheld where He was laid.
16 And when the Sabbath day had passed, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Salome bought sweet ointments so that they might come and anoint Jesus.
2 Therefore, early in the morning, the first day of the week, they came to the sepulcher, when the Sun was now risen.
3 And they said to each other, “Who shall we have roll away the stone from the door of the sepulcher?”
4 But when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away (for it was a very great one).
5 So they went into the sepulcher and saw a young man sitting at the right side, clothed in a long white robe. And they were awestruck.
6 But he said to them, “Do not be so troubled. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, Who was crucified. He is risen. He is not here. Behold the place where they put Him.
7 “But go your way, and tell His disciples, and Peter, that He will go before you into Galilee. There you shall see Him, as He said to you.”
30 I will magnify You, O LORD. You have exalted me and have not made my foes to rejoice over me.
2 O LORD, my God, I cried to You; and You have restored me.
3 O LORD, You have brought up my soul out of the grave. You have revived me from those who go down into the pit.
4 Sing praises to the LORD, His Saints, and give thanks before the remembrance of His Holiness.
5 For His anger endures but a while. In His favor is life. Weeping may abide at evening, but joy comes in the morning.
6 And in my prosperity, I said, “I shall never be moved.”
7 For You, LORD, from Your goodness, had made my mountain to stand strong. You hid Your face, and I was troubled.
8 Then I cried to You, O LORD, and prayed to my LORD.
9 What profit is there in my blood when I go down to the pit! Shall the dust give thanks to You? Or shall it declare Your Truth?
10 Hear, O LORD; and have mercy upon me. LORD, be my Helper.
11 You have turned my mourning into joy. You have loosened my sackcloth and girded me with gladness.
12 Therefore, my tongue shall praise You, and not cease. O LORD, my God, I will give thanks to You forever. To him who excels: A Psalm of David.
149 Sing to the LORD a new song! Let His praise be heard in the congregation of saints.
2 Let Israel rejoice in Him Who made him; and let the children of Zion rejoice in their King.
3 Let them praise His Name with the flute. Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp.
4 For the LORD has pleasure in His people. He will make the meek glorious by deliverance.
5 Let the saints be joyful with glory! Let them sing loud upon their beds.
6 Let the high acts of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hands —
7 to execute vengeance upon the heathen and corrections among the people,
8 to bind their kings in chains and their nobles with fetters of iron —
9 so that they may execute upon them the judgment that is written. This honor shall be to all His saints. Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort,
4 Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, by the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation abounds through Christ.
6 And if we are afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is wrought in the enduring of the same sufferings that we also suffer. Or, if we are comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
7 And our hope is steadfast concerning you, because we know that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so shall you also be of the consolation.
