Psalm 18

18 I will love You dearly, O LORD, my strength.

The LORD is my rock and my fortress; and He Who delivers me, my God and my strength. In Him will I trust. My shield. The horn, also, of my salvation. My refuge.

I will call upon the LORD, Who is worthy to be praised. So shall I be safe from my enemies.

The sorrows of death surrounded me. And the floods of wickedness made me afraid.

The sorrows of the grave have surrounded me. The snares of death overtook me.

But in my trouble, I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God. He heard my voice out of His Temple. And my cry came before Him, into His ears.

Then the Earth trembled and quaked. The foundations of the mountains also moved and shook because He was angry.

Smoke went out at His nostrils; and a consuming fire out of His mouth, at which coals were kindled.

He also bowed the heavens and came down, and darkness was under His feet.

10 And He rode upon a cherub and flew. And He came flying upon the wings of the wind.

11 He made darkness His secret place, his pavilion all around Him; darkness of waters and clouds of the air.

12 At the brightness of His presence, His clouds passed; hailstones and coals of fire.

13 The LORD also thundered in the heaven, and the Highest gave His voice; hailstones and coals of fire.

14 Then He sent out His arrows and scattered them. And He increased lightnings and destroyed them.

15 And the channels of waters were seen. And the foundations of the world were discovered at Your rebuking, O LORD; at the blasting of the breath of Your nostrils.

16 He has sent down from above and taken me. He has drawn me out of many waters.

17 He has delivered me from my strong enemy, and from those who hate me. For they were too strong for me.

18 They confronted me on the day of my calamity. But the LORD was my stay.

19 He also brought me forth into a large place. He delivered me because He favored me.

20 The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness. According to the pureness of my hand, He recompensed me,

21 because I kept the ways of the LORD and did not do wickedly against my God.

22 For all His laws were before me. And I did not cast away His Commandments from me.

23 I was also upright with him and have kept myself from my wickedness.

24 Therefore, the LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to the pureness of my hands in His sight.

25 With the godly, You will show Yourself godly. With the upright man, You will show Yourself upright.

26 With the pure, You will show Yourself pure. And with the froward, You will show Yourself froward.

27 Thus, You will save the poor people, and will cast down proud looks.

28 Surely, You will light my candle. The LORD, my God, will lighten my darkness.

29 For You I have broken through an army. And by my God I have leapt over a wall.

30 The way of God is incorrupt. The Word of the LORD is tried in the fire. He is a shield to those who trust in Him.

31 For who is God besides the LORD? And who is mighty except our God?

32 God girds me with strength and makes my way upright.

33 He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and sets me upon my high places.

34 He teaches my hands to fight, so that a bow of brass is broken with my arms.

35 You have also given me the shield of Your salvation. And Your right hand has upheld me. And Your lovingkindness has caused me to increase.

36 You have enlarged my steps under me, and my heels have not slid.

37 I have pursued my enemies, and taken them, and have not turned again until I had vanquished them.

38 I have wounded them, so that they were not able to rise. They have fallen under my feet.

39 For You have girded me with strength for battle. Those who rose against me, You have subdued under me.

40 And You have given me the necks of my enemies, so that I might destroy those who hate me.

41 They cried, but there was no one to save them; and to the LORD, but He did not answer them.

42 Then I beat them fine as the dust before the wind. I tread them flat as the clay in the streets.

43 You have delivered me from the contentions of the people. You have made me the head of the heathen. A people I have not known shall serve me.

44 As soon as they hear, they shall obey me. The strangers shall be in subjection to me.

45 Strangers shall shrink away, and fear in their borders.

46 Let the LORD live and blessed be my strength. And the God of my salvation be exalted.

47 It is God Who avenges me and subdues the people under me.

48 O, my Deliverer from my enemies, You have lifted me up from those who rose against me! You have delivered me from the cruel man.

49 Therefore, I will praise You among the nations, O LORD, and will sing to Your Name.

50 He gives great deliverances to His king and shows mercy to His anointed; to David, and to his seed, forever. To him who excels: A Psalm of David.

Deuteronomy 3:18-28

18 “And I commanded you at the same time, saying, ‘The LORD your God has given you this land, to possess it. You shall go over, armed, ahead of your brothers, the children of Israel, all men of war.

19 ‘But your wives and your children and your cattle (for I know that you have many cattle) shall stay in your cities which I have given you,

20 ‘until the LORD has given rest to your brothers (as to you) and they also possess the land which the LORD your God has given them beyond Jordan. Then you shall return every man to his possession, which I have given you.’

21 “And I charged Joshua at the same time, saying, ‘Your eyes have seen all that the LORD your God has done to these two kings. So shall the LORD do to all the kingdoms where you go.

22 ‘You shall not fear them. For the LORD your God, He shall fight for you.’

23 “And I implored the LORD at the same time, saying,

24 ‘O LORD God, You have begun to show Your servant Your greatness and Your mighty hand. For where is there a God in Heaven or on Earth, that can match Your works and Your power?

25 ‘I beg You, let me go over and see the good land that is beyond Jordan, those pleasant mountains, and Lebanon.’

26 “But the LORD was angry with me for your sakes and would not hear me. And the LORD said to me, ‘Let it satisfy you. Speak no more to Me of this matter.

27 ‘Get up to the top of Pisgah and lift up your eyes westward and northward and southward and eastward and behold it with your eyes. For you shall not go over this Jordan.

28 ‘But charge Joshua and encourage him and embolden him. For he shall go before this people. And he shall divide to them for an inheritance the land which you shall see.’

Romans 9:19-33

19 You will then say to me: “Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?”

20 But who are you, O man, to contradict God? Shall the thing formed say to Him Who formed it, “Why have you made me this way”?

21 Does not indeed the potter have authority over the clay to make, from the same lump, one vessel unto honor and another unto dishonor?

22 What if God – though willing to show His wrath, and to make His power known - endured with much patience the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction?

23 That in so doing, He might declare the riches of His Glory upon the vessels of mercy, which He has prepared unto Glory -

24 even we whom He has called - not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles.

25 As He also says in Hosea: “I will call them ‘My people’ who were not my people; and her ‘Beloved’ who was not beloved.

26 “And it shall be in the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people’. There they shall be called ‘The sons of the living God’.”

27 Also, Isaiah cries concerning Israel: “Though the number of the sons of Israel were as the sand of the sea, the remnant shall be saved.

28 “For He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, because the Lord will make a short work upon the Earth.”

29 And as Isaiah said before: “Except that the Lord of hosts had left us a seed, we had been made as Sodom, and had been like Gomorrah.”

30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, who did not follow righteousness, have attained righteousness, even the righteousness that is by faith;

31 but Israel, which followed the Law of righteousness, could not attain the Law of righteousness.

32 Why? Because they did not not seek it by faith, but by the works of the Law. For they have stumbled at the stumbling stone.

33 As it is written: “Behold, I lay a stumbling stone in Zion; an ensnaring rock. And everyone who believes in Him, shall not be ashamed.”

Matthew 24:1-14

24 And Jesus went out and departed from the Temple. And His disciples came to Him to show Him the building of the Temple.

And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, there shall not be left a stone upon a stone here, that shall not be cast down.”

And as He sat upon the Mount of Olives, His disciples came to Him alone, saying, “Tell us when these things shall be. And what sign shall there be of Your coming, and of the end of the world?”

And Jesus answered, and said to them, “See to it that no one deceives you.

“For many shall come in My Name, saying, ‘I am Christ’, and shall deceive many.

“And you shall hear of wars, and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled. For all these things must happen. But the end is not yet.

“For nation shall rise against nation, and realm against realm. And there shall be famine, and pestilence, and earthquakes in diverse places.

“All these are but the beginning of sorrows.

“Then they shall deliver you up to tribulation and shall kill you. And you shall be hated by all nations, for My Name’s sake.

10 “And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

11 “And many false prophets shall arise and shall deceive many.

12 “And because iniquity shall be increased, the love of many shall be cold.

13 “But the one who endures to the end, he shall be saved.

14 “And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached through the whole world, for a witness to all nations. And then the end shall come.
