Psalm 29

Psalm 29

A psalm by David.

Give to Yahweh, you heavenly beings.
Give to Yahweh glory and power.
Give to Yahweh the glory his name deserves.
Worship Yahweh in his holy splendor.

The voice of Yahweh rolls over the water.
    The El of glory thunders.
        Yahweh shouts over raging water.
The voice of Yahweh is powerful.
The voice of Yahweh is majestic.
The voice of Yahweh breaks the cedars.
Yahweh splinters the cedars of Lebanon.
He makes Lebanon skip along like a calf
and Mount Sirion like a wild ox.
The voice of Yahweh strikes with flashes of lightning.
The voice of Yahweh makes the wilderness tremble.
Yahweh makes the wilderness of Kadesh tremble.
The voice of Yahweh splits the oaks[a]
and strips the trees of the forests bare.
Everyone in his temple is saying, “Glory!”

10 Yahweh sat enthroned over the flood.
Yahweh sits enthroned as Melek forever.
11 Yahweh will give power to his people.
Yahweh will bless his people with peace.

Psalm 98

Psalm 98

A psalm.

Sing a new song to Yahweh
because he has done miraculous things.
His right hand and his holy arm have gained victory for him.
Yahweh has made his salvation known.
He has uncovered his righteousness for the nations to see.
He has not forgotten to be merciful and faithful
    to Israel’s descendants.
All the ends of the earth have seen how our Elohim saves them.

Shout happily to Yahweh, all the earth.
Break out into joyful singing, and make music.
Make music to Yahweh with a lyre,
with a lyre and the melody of a psalm,
with trumpets and the playing of a ram’s horn.
Shout happily in the presence of the Melek, Yahweh.

Let the sea, everything in it,
the world, and those who live in it roar like thunder.
Let the rivers clap their hands
    and the mountains sing joyfully
        in Yahweh’s presence
because he is coming to judge the earth.
He will judge the world with justice
                    and its people with fairness.

Isaiah 66:18-23

18 Because of their actions and their thoughts,[a]
I am coming to gather the nations of every language.
They will come and see my glory.
19 I will set up a sign among them
and send some of their survivors to the nations:
to Tarshish, Put and Lud, Meshech, Rosh, Tubal, Javan,
            and to the distant coastlands
who have not heard of my fame or seen my glory.
They will tell about my glory among the nations.
20 They will bring all your relatives
from every nation like a grain offering to Yahweh.
“They will come on horses, in chariots, in wagons,
on mules and camels to my holy mountain, Jerusalem,”
        declares Yahweh.
They will come like the people of Israel who bring
their grain offerings in clean dishes to Yahweh’s temple.
21 “I will make some of them priests and Levites,” declares Yahweh.
22 “The new heaven and earth that I am about to make
will continue in my presence,” declares Yahweh.
“So your descendants and your name
will also continue in my presence.
23 From one month to the next and from one week to the next
all people will come to worship me,” declares Yahweh.

Romans 15:7-13

Therefore, accept each other in the same way that Christ accepted you. He did this to bring glory to God. Let me explain. Christ became a servant for the Jewish people to reveal God’s truth. As a result, he fulfilled God’s promise to the ancestors of the Jewish people. People who are not Jewish praise God for his mercy as well. This is what the Scriptures say,

“That is why I will give thanks to you among the nations
and I will sing praises to your name.”

10 And Scripture says again,

“You nations, be happy together with his people!”

11 And again,

“Praise the Lord, all you nations!
Praise him, all you people of the world!”

12 Again, Isaiah says,

“There will be a root from Jesse.
He will rise to rule the nations,
and he will give the nations hope.”

13 May God, the source of hope, fill you with joy and peace through your faith in him. Then you will overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
